The rainbow league tries to find queer in all forms of popular media, and the newest incarnation of Tomb Raider is no exception. I have played ALL the games, all the way back to the original from '96, save for the mobile ones. Lara is and has always been straight bicurious. In the newer iterations of the game she has profoundly deep bonds with her friends. This doesn't mean romantic attraction, at least on her end. In the older games, she keeps people at an arms length. She was betrayed by someone she trusted and looked up to as a father figure. Throughout all of the games, she is romantically aloof, but also a flirt.
The survivor trilogy is awful (as well with legends), it took everything we loved about Lara Croft and threw it all away, they made turned her backstory into continuing her father leagues instead of Lara tomb raiding because it’s her passion and they erased her fun, campy and cheeky personality. The series still trying to make the survivor trilogy a thing when it ruining the franchise and the more they lean into changes they made I’ll start to lose it’s original story and fanbase
