@Plaguelight Arin and Dan spent a decent amount of time losing their minds slowly at that point, and it was the last game they were playing that day I believe, so the sheer suddenness of such a bizarre sentence broke them
@@andrewdiaz3529 I can get that, but I remember people saying how funny it was back when that playthrough dropped. It boggles the mind, really. Except for the Grumps, who are always in their own world of comedy and madness.

I can't believe we're already 3 years from the Carbunkle eating itself. And House Party had already had DLC at that point.
Still reeling at the fact that all of their Sonic Shuffle problems stem from Arin selecting the wrong controller settings at the beginning, making them completely blind to what cards they had in their hands.
That was not the only issue with that game. Lol
That game is just a clunkier Mario Party. Although, it was a blast to watch.
Sonic Shuffle isn't simply a drug trip, it's the kind of drug trip you have that makes you think 'So...is this what dying feels like?'
It's a drug trip in the sense that you thought you were just smoking weed but SURPRISE it's laced with crack

Man they only did 3 episodes of that and it’s SO fuckin’ funny with the jokes they came up with. I especially love the bit with them “arguing” over Game of Thrones.

I mean, here’s the thing with sonic shuffle, they didn’t play it right at all. Apparently there are specific controllers with screens on them for games like sonic shuffle, and it shows what cards you have. And if you don’t have the controllers, then the emulator that they used has an option to help you out. It was a bad game not because it actually was but because they didn’t have it set up correctly.
I don't count Shuffle. Sure, it's not the greatest, but they completely ignored how you're supposed to play with VMUs

Arin played the game on original hardware before with OneyPlays years ago, so Arin had experience with it and somehow completely forgot about it. That video was the only experience I had with Sonic Shuffle and even I remembered that years later when Arin and Dan played it.
Sometimes the stuff Arin forgets is so comedically specific that it seems intentional.

So what was 2020 like? I dunno, the carbuncle ate itself, you know how that goes.
Arin was almost in hot water with Dan when Arin recklessly jumped his horse in that water (instead of taking the bridge) and then nearly got stuck in said water, however, just like those collectively moving tufts of grass, when the going got tuft, the tuft got going thereby giving Arin and Horse the strength to finally escape the water.

I know everyone comes here for the Carbuncle but I was in tears with “it had all my favorite SONGS ON IT!” Dan laughs before Arin even has a chance because he knows it was so good.
THE CARBUNCLE ATE ITSELF has the same energy as THE BANANAS HAS GONE BAD.
There was honestly something kinda special about the episodes they recorded in separate locations. Definately not saying it was better in any way, but I did love how Arin would say something or something would happen to him and other would be like a full second delay before Dan cracked up at it. It was very funny in its own special way.

my favorite thing about the Clannad ep was how they went in expecting standard shenanigans but then got slapped in the face with Clannad's actual heavy starting tone with Tomoya's disdain for his dad lmao.
The amazing thing about Clannad to me is that it has a beautiful, emotional storyline but the characters look like the work of aliens trying to replicate anime artwork.
I got into game grumps in February 2020 a little before the backstreet boy sudden comeback era but honestly I owe you guys so much for being my biggest comfort during that difficult time.

This is when I discovered Game Grumps when I was out of work for almost 7 months on disability. Definitely brightened those many months for me.
Lol! I actually played both the Clannad and Prison Princess games during the pandemic because of your brief playthrough of them! 2020 was also the year I finally got back to watching GameGrumps after watching other channels from 2018-January 2020.
We all remembered the caruncle bit but my god, the whole game was utter madness.
What are you talking about? 2020 was all about the Backstreet Boys coming back and touring worldwide.

I think the carbuncle counts as a geode type item. and the carbuncle needs to eat one geode type item per turn to stay in your inventory.
So basically, if you dont use your carbuncle while you have no other geode in your inventory, then you'll lose it...
because it will eat itself....

When dan is talking about Camillas paws at 32:55 if a dogs paws smell like fritos, it means they have yeast in between their paw pads! It’s an easy fix, there’s a treatment that is iodine and pure shea butter. but thought i should explain, hope this helps!!

The fact that the Grumps made the (Sonic Shuffle) game unintentionally far more difficult because the game required you to have the Memory Tamagotchi thing back in the day and it displayed your personal cards , it wasnt *ALL* random they just made it so
