    Great images. There’s something magical about black & white film and fog.

    Color is always about color, however, b&w is always about subject ! Great pics, you have a creative eye. Thanks, Rick…..

    Why does everybody seem to make like shooting black and white is so hard, special, and magic? I shot a ton of it when I was a kid. I also shot color. I had fun with both. Just get some and get to it. Go have fun! Lets all just enjoy the ride!

    BW is about straight simplicity. That case of gear totally superfluous. One lens, one camera. Lens hood/shade. Never rush. Each frame a possible print! Load M6 in dark. 2 more frames. One developer for at least one year. Do not uprate film/push. Know film speed really about 250 ISO as same as Tri-X without the curling. Bravo Ilford. Leica can be used at slow speeds, learn to do it.

    Very nice photos with the Ilford HP5 & Leica camera. Plan doing something similar with my Leica M3 with its Voigtlander Nokton lens & Gossen light meter. When I see these photos, it inspires me to get out and start shooting more street photos. B&W film conveys a mood and atmosphere and these photos demonstrate that.

    Well after watching this video and your BNW shots I clicked on the subscription right away
    I loved how the shots turned out very nostalgic and how moody they are
    Well I think you should definitely try Kodak Tri-X 400
    And try to shoot it at 1600 ISO
    You will fall in love with the results…

    For the first time I just bought Ilford HP5 Plus. I also, put it in an old film camera Pentax Spotmatic II. Have a few M-42 mounts! Anyway I am test all this out. Not light meter in the camera. Using Sunny 16 rule. Besides the Pentax I have a Mamiya/Sekor 500DTL 35mm film camera M-45 mount. Not impressed with the B&W kodak 100 I shot in it. And the meter works. I don't know how accurate it is? Thinking now I need a light meter. Like your work. I will looking for more videos from you.

    Man that shot @1:15 MAGICAL! Absolutely Frame worthy. I will be shopping for an M6 soon I know they have a built in meter but what handheld meter did you have in your hand here? Thanks in advance. I shoot with an X-Pro3 and LOVE it but miss film sometimes.

    new subscriber here. love these photos. i just got an m6 but haven't broke it in yet cause i'm
    still waiting for my lens to arrive. do you find that the sekonic meter is more accurate than the m6?
    also i'm gonna pick up a roll of hp5 soon it's been a long time since i shot with that film

    • @PaulStrk
      @PaulStrk  Год назад +1

      Thanks so much! I've found the M6 meter to be quite good, but I do tend to carry the sekonic meter with me just to confirm exposure in more tricky lighting situations. Hope you enjoy your new camera!

  • @ComGoBoo
    @ComGoBoo 2 года назад +1

    This is neither negative nor positive: I just wonder why it is so grainy? I shot plenty of HP5 at 1600 and never got that much grain. How did you develop it? (Or have it developed)

    • @PaulStrk
      @PaulStrk  2 года назад +3

      That's very interesting.. It was developed by a lab so I'm not sure how they would've proccessed it tbh.
