I agree with your statement on preventing this podcast from turning into a means of marketing for the film industry. But the actors in the lowest section of society was unnecessary and I think we should escape this “hierarchy” of career status mindset and give everybody from Actors to shop owner the same amount of respect.
At the time Arthshastra was written, society was such that actors were the only people who had the power to voice an opinion that could be against the kings/courtiers. Famous war strategists such as Chanakya and Sun Tzu always wanted to oppress actors and other artists because they knew the power of art in terms of influencing the masses. After man's need of roti, kapda and rosy, the next immediate need is the undying hunger to tell and hear stories. So don't shit on actors just cuz you can't appreciate a craft. And if you think you must live your life by a book written nearly 2300 years ago then my friend it's sorry to see how dystopian the world must seem to you.
