あらすじ / STORY
犯罪都市、ゴッサム・シティ。
A.R.G.U.S長官のアマンダ・ウォラーはある任務のため、ハーレイ・クイン、デッドショット、ピースメイカー、クレイフェイス、キング・シャークを招集。ゴッサムの極悪悪党（ヴィラン）共が送りこまれたのは、ゲートによって繋がった剣と魔法の世界、オークが闊歩しドラゴンが空を翔ける″異世界＝ISEKAI″だった！！
ISEKAI到着直後から暴走するハーレイ達だったが、王国の兵隊に捕まり監獄送りに。

In the crime-ridden Gotham city, Amanda Waller, the head of A.R.G.U.S., has assembled a group of notorious criminals for a mission: Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface and King Shark. These DC Super-Villains are sent into an otherworldly realm that’s connected to this world through a gate. It’s a world of swords and magic where orcs rampage and dragons rule the skies-an “ISEKAI”!
Harley and others go on a rampage after arriving in ISEKAI but are captured by the Kingdom's soldiers and sent to prison.

それはいいんだけど、良いスタッフをずっと持ってかれちゃうと日本国内の日本のアニメが困る。
アメコミって世界観設定にユルさっていうか自由度があるから、割とどうとでも調理できるの強いよね
キャラデザの原案が家庭教師ヒットマンREBORN！の漫画家さんなのが個人的に最大のポイント

オークとか異世界モンスターの描き込みもすげえよ
アニメの海外からの発注には思うところがある、日本アニメのやり方にだけは口出ししてくれるなよ。任せるなら全部任せてくれ。そして日本のスタッフは海外向けを意識せず全力で当たってほしい。
ワーナーが何とかしてくれる、多少はワーナーの意見も入っているはずなので
I completely agree. Even as a westerner, I dislike it when western brands are given to Japanese production staffs, but the western executives keep a super short leash on them and don't let them inject any of their unique personality or charm. Batman: Ninja was an over all disappointment to me because it was obvious that western executives were standing in the way of the Japanese production team and not allowing them to be more free and flexible with their interpretation of Batman; so Batman: Ninja as a whole comes off as very shallow and lacking of any identity to me. What's the point in giving Japan a western brand if you aren't going to let them express their own creative take on it? I WANT to see how a professional Japanese creative would write or design characters like Batman, Joker, Deathstroke, Nightwing, etc. That sounds like so much fun. But I think western executives are usually too scared of too much Japanese influence on their brands turning away western consumers; which is very dumb, because anime is extremely popular in the west, especially here in the USA.
I feel that Suicide Squad: Isekai is different, though. I watched the first three episodes, which were released early here in the west, (Which is unfair to Japanese fans, but that's business for you) and the anime feels sincerely and proudly Japanese. It makes sense seeing as it has a lot of strong names from the Japanese creative industry behind it, such as Tappei Nagatsuki and Eiji Umehara on the story, and Akira Amano on character design. (I'm especially a fan of her "handsome bad boy" take on Joker.) The anime feels like western executives FINALLY backed off and let the Japanese staff just work their magic. It doesn't feel like a western product animated by a Japanese team. It feels like a Japanese team's interpretation of a western product, as it should, and I absolutely love it. 😊 The anime doesn't air in Japan for about a week or so now, but I hope it's received well by the Japanese demographic too so we can get more projects like this!
