In this video I talk about the Dwarves and how powerful they are. Covering their history as described in World of Warcraft: Chronicle Volume 1 up to the most recent lore in WoW BFA. I cover their history, abilities, characteristics and in conclusion How powerful are Dwarves?

Got to say, dwarves are arguably THE most powerful race in Warcraft currently. Like doron pointed out, they are the only race that has never lost a homeland or suffered a massive genocide like the gnomes, Draenei, and even humans. In fact with the reuniting the the clans, their numbers are probably greater than ever. While they may not be the best warriors, they can def hold their own, with the best weapons and armor to boot. Their industrial war machine is rivaled by no one, and now with the dark irons and wild hammers at their side they are no longer lacking in magical power either. On top of this is the fact that ironforge itself is pretty much impregnable, withstanding the full might of the horde from the second war and surviving a full on city behind enemy lines for years. It’s difficult to imaging any race on Azeroth being able to take them down, even the humans I would argue.

Dwarves are unquestioningly the strongest playable race, lore wise. Even over Humans, in my opinion. No other race continues to thrive the way Dwarves do, safe in their natural stronghold to become as strong as they want. The only thing that can stop them is conflict from within, and their clans are united at the moment. Their only weakness is a lack of ability to mobilize their forces to an outside cause. They will look out for their own primarily, which isn't a bad thing. Many do leave their stronghold though, but they never needed to. They want to, and that is the key difference between them and pretty much every other playable race. They leave when they are ready. It's not a necessity to go out and become an adventurer. They are drawn to knowledge, challenge, and personal growth.
Although let's be fair here. The Alliance has always relied on the dwarves or their technology and armaments. Particularly BfA, like the dark irons and their mole machines have more or less just replaced the Bronzebeards while Wildhammers still get screentime with Falstad and his gryphon riders.
Dwarves are extremely strong. In the chronicle, it was mentioned that it takes ten orcs to kill a single dwarf. But I think other Alliance races can contend with them in terms of raw power such as Draenei and Worgen.
Not really if you think about it. Some races like the night or high elves were far more powerful than the dwarves ever were, yet they still suffered unimaginable losses. Same with the Draenei for example, just from looking at the Alliance side. Though WoW is a pretty unrealistic universe when it comes to battles, and sometimes largely inconsistent with itself.
For example, an impenetrable fortress doesn't matter a lot, because the enemy can just claim the surrounding areas and wait until you starve to death. They are also not the most physically powerful race, and their strenghts are largely connected to the gnomes. So all in all, the Dwarves never were the most powerful playable race

Just because they didn't suffer as many heavy losses in their history (mostly because they were ignored by Blizz), doesn't mean they are instantly the strongest.
There's also the entire part about the dark irons.
If we really want to define power by the things you mentioned, a race like the Pandaren would be so much more powerful. Not only did they defeat their mogu overlords in a rebellion with bare hands, but managed to push back a Zandalari invading force not much after, while enduring attacks from the Mantid every 100 years.
But the power of a race should be defined by numbers, strategy, knowledge in magic, technology, and also physical strenght.

You forgot to mention the Ironforge airfield and aerial combat capibilities. With Gyrocopters, Airplanes, Wildhammer Gryphon riders (the original and best dragonslayers since wc 2) and gunships (which was a combined effort by dwarf and gnomish engineering). Much of the humans strenght of azeroth comes from the industrial might of ironforge who provides them with their advanced technology. If you cut that off, one can reason the Dwarves of Ironforge are stronger than humans.
Dorfs are the master race.

Dwarves are the most powerful race in the universe
Dwarves and Orcs are strongest races in Alliance and Horde respectively
Worgen and Tauren*
Read the Curse of the Worgen comic to see how strong they are. Worgen are powerful beyond compare since they are empowered by the strength and fury of a wild god. Taurens beat orcs in terms of raw strength and brute force. They're massive and wield gigantic totem poles as melee weapons.
@@requiem1123 Dwarves are stronger then Worgens, the ability they have Called Stoneform is Vastly different in effect from in game to lore. if a dwarf uses Stone Form in lore they pretty much turn into Demi gods.
@@Zesmas There was a comic (might have been the one mentioned above) where two Night Elves were trying and failing to lift a boulder together, and a Worgen proceeds to lift it with ease. They're not as strong as a Tauren (or a Zandalari, most likely) in raw strength, but they're still incredibly strong, probably a bit more than Orcs, Draenei and the big Kul Tirans (while being way faster and more agile than any of them).
Dwarves are stronger than regular Humans and Blood Elves but weaker than Orcs, big Kul Tirans, and Draenei, probably in the same ballpark as Darkspear Trolls and Night Elves (though more hardy and durable than any of the aforementioned, for sure). Dwarves are natural tanks due to their rock solid, low-to-ground builds and stoneform (which makes them damn near impervious to most things lorewise), but being shorter, their raw strength is more limited than some of the taller and almost as proportionally beefy races, and they're not agile at all. They'd easily beat other races in an unarmed, unarmored brawl through simply being too damn hard to actually hurt
The Undead were by far the strongest race from the Horde when Sylvanas was still the Leader. They had a large number, they have a big knowlegde about medicine, plague weapons, biology and chemistry. The Undead were always a big threat to the Alliance and I think even more than the Orcs (who are a pretty strong race aswell). Now after Sylvanas is gone and her Valkyrs are all dead, the Undead lost a lot of their Power. Don't know how strong they really are right now, but not nearly as strong as in the past.

I love dwarves. yes they are always the same but that is not a weakness but a strenght. A dwarf is short, bearded, sounds scottish, loves beer, is honourable to the absurd, is greedy, are smiths and bankers, use runes, have mechanics, live underground (in mountains), have huge buildings, are proud, are strong (for their size), don't like arcane magic, have trouble with elves, are industrious.
This seems like a long list and not all dwarfs everywhere need to have all these traits. But stray to far and your dwarf would only be a dwarf in name.
The facts that all dwarfs are the same makes them instandly reconisable and because of their frequent appearances which all stay to to dwarf model they are well developt and fleshed out.
But Warcraft dwarves dont hate Arcane.

The Horde wouldn’t mess with the dwarves, a race that has never been conquered nor defeated and also has the most advance firepower in Azeroth is no joke to trifled with tbh.

Originally the dwarf main stat started initially at 28, while or s at 26. The only other strength competitor was the Tauren, who were the highest if I’m not mistaken.

Orc would have more raw strength and reach, but the Dwarf is quite a bit sturdier and more durable

While dwarves are iconic as Rifleman, they are definitely a well-established warrior race as well.
I doubt it, they met the gnomes early on and helped each other improve/build their capitol homes. More likely the gnomish desire to invent 'infected' a few dwarves who became engineers and inventors themselves thus in the grand pursuit of new technology invented gunpowder and applications for it.
If you can shoot them before they reach you, why would you engage in melee fight? Also dwarfs are deadly in close range too.

How many gnomes are there left? A couple hundred?
Goblins would be good except for the greed and corruption that saturates their entire culture and political structure. Also half of them get blown up by their own inventions each generation
Orcs > Dwarves > Humans > Undead > Tauren > Gnomes > Trolls > Goblins > Draenei > Nelfs > Belfs > Worgen > Pandaren
Human > draenei > nelf > worgen > orc > tauren > troll > dwarf > belf > gnome > goblin > undead >pandaren
Short and stout, but really, takes just one tauren to smash them into a pudding, or an orc. That being said, however, do do have a large skillset to aid the Alliance, pretty much what you mentioned in the video.
They are too damn stubborn and hard to smash. They have a higher strength rating than the orc, not the Tauren though. 29 to 28 I believe? Not sure but I recall Orc was 26. Highest stamina out of all of them though.
A dwarf with stoneform (which lorewise isn't most dwarves, but a decent number, nonetheless) would probably be invulnerable to any physical blows an average Tauren or Orc could throw at them. Outside of game mechanics, stoneform is pretty damn powerful

@@manaeth Dude again. They are the weakest, most spoiled race in all of azeroth. It wasn't an argument, it's a fact. Almost all the playable races could beat em in mak'gora/ fair fight. But since the blood elves are weak, they don't do that. They would get crushed into the ground if they tried to fuck with a tauren.
in lore wise yes i agree their rich in history but that doesnt really tell you how powerful they are if were talking about reall combat orcs and taurens beats them hands down any day of the week so i dont know why people keep thinking their better.

@@allanvaldez6561 no man, it isn't work that way. They're powerful, but dwarves are pretty strong too and their stoneform shield them from further harm. Tauren stomp and orcish punch cannot shatter that form.

@@allanvaldez6561 i'm serious, that's why dwarfs always in the frontline. They're strong, they're decendant of the earthen race. Once they tapped stoneform, they can withstand many blows, from blunt, pierce, even poison. This isn't same like normal stone, this is the earthen stone. Do not underestimate them, their size maybe small but they're very strong. Charging dwarves while they active the stoneform is very dangerous, even for some orcs and tauren.
How can a Dwarf be powerful other than using rifles and techlonogy? A random Orc would kick and Dwarf would be dead instantly. A random Tauren would step on a Dwarf like a piece of garbage and wipe the floor with it, just like they are doing to humans and gnomes. Dwarves are weaklings, this is why they never had a major lore in the Warcraft franchise. People are going to defend and say Dwarves are strong but no, just go watch Viper vs Mountain. Height and Muscle > Short and Muscle, this is how it works.
While I agree that orcs and tauren are much larger and stronger, I wouldn't underestimate dwarven heritage. They were literally creatures made of stone and were created by the titans.
Powerful? I bet ye orcs and taurens don't have a head for beer. That's the power here.
It's also about the density of the muscle and bone in the body.
Dwarves are supposed to be sorter than a human, but still have more muscle and bone mass. So, even though the Orc can kick the dwarf, it does not nessessary mean that the dwarf will tumble over. As for Tauren stepping onto them... Well, if the dwarf is an actual warrionr, he will probably counter such a stupid move in one way or another, be it chopping into the Tauren's groin, or simply lifting the leg befor the cowman can move the center of his mass onto it. >w> (Yeah, I know, text wars are asy when you put them that way)
It's fantasy, normal physics aren't the law in the world of warcraft. (Also try to kick a dwarf who has stoneform and see how that goes!)
