That lawnmower did way better than I expected, and yes, it is nice to have a spare machine for pushing snow.

It is really good at pushing snow but reversing is harder so planned driving is a must.

Nice comparison video. Looks like you got a lot of snow. We just mostly get rain, and it is hard to plow.

Thanks! Yes we got snow early this year but before the snow we had many weeks of rain! I do prefer snow!

Lawnmover for plowing is great on narrow places like in front of your house or even on the lawn itself since it will not damage the grass. But as you said, it is much faster with the atv and it is great for bigger driveways and roads.

Thanks! If I only could choose one it would be the ATV but the lawnmower is still a good choice. If it was 4wd it would be superior on small areas.

Listening to both , they both have pros and cons and if had either one it would do a good job

They sure do but the ATV is better in my opinion. Good thing you found the English version this time! It is hard to find the right version sometimes, seems the algorithm doesn’t help….

Nice comparison. Sometimes i wish i had an ATV with a snow plow, but ATVs have to be registered here in Denmark, with licenseplate and have lights, blinkers and so on, just like a bigger tractor.
For what it is, the rider does a good job. I have used my Rider 13 for years to clear the snow in my driveway and on the sidewalk. With chains on and the extra weight (19kg) on the rear it does ok. If it needs more traction i just throw a 25Kg bag of road salt up on the engine cover.
Sometimes i wish it was an AWD...but the AWD Riders are ridiculously expensive. On the other side..it´s probably a good thing i dont have an AWD Rider. I dont know how strong the transmissions are, and with AWD you would probably try to plow more snow than what is good for the machine.
They tend to blow up even under normal use if the two transmissions are not perfectly synchronized.

Thanks! My ATV is registered and can be driven on public road. Insurance is not so expensive but I live in a very rural area. I think the Rider is surprisingly good for its size when it comes to plowing snow. It won’t handle loads of snow but they are not so common. I think you are right about the 4wd riders, I read about problems with them more often than on the 2wd machines. Perhaps people do overload them as you say. I will probably get one someday and try it myself.

I just re-read what i wrote, and i think i understated what i had on my mind. The Rider does a great job exept in thick heavy wet snow, the light fluffy snow it handles very well.
Now, i dont know if they have changed to a different AWD system, but when they first came out they had loads of problems with them. Back then i was working at the local dealer and they changed lots of them under warranty.
But why did they blow up ? (which they still do if they are not regularly serviced and synchronized, and putting tirechains on them is a big no go)
On a Stiga the same kanzaki transmission will last almost forever.
I think that It´s not that strange if you look at what´s going on. The Stiga mower is a true articulated mower and the inside versus outside wheels always rotate at the same speed, even when turning sharply.
Not so on the Husqvarna with the pivoting rear axle, the pump and motors in the rear and front transmissions are working overtime unless you are going in a straight line.

@@kaithomsen9726 I think they have a compensation valve for the difference in speed. The Stiga system might be better for AWD systems but they have so many other issues so I personally prefer HQ. Might get a Stiga next seson to restore just for fun.

I've plowed with both a lawn tractor (22 hp) and a 400cc ATV. The ATV is superior....in my opinion.

Do you even have a housewife UNION in sweden??

    • @NilsKall
      @NilsKall  9 месяцев назад

Hi! Unions in Sweden are a sensitive topic! We don’t have a housewife union as the cost of living has almost erased the possibility of housewives…..But otherwise, yes we would probably have one..
