I have watched a lot of interviews, but this one supersedes them all. This is where History meets the Historian. This man is so knowledgeable about music and places in Jamaica more than many Jamaicans. he really paid his dues in the music industry. It warms my heart to know that a foreigner and a Caucasian has Jamaica in his heart. I enjoy the way he in cooperated the British accent with the Jamaican Patois. great job Teach. Also interjecting pieces of the show with the artist takes the interview to another level.
@@anjee.3261 Trust me I have watched all.....My reason is based on the fact of Dominic as an artist who is not a Jamaican and had the DJ skills developed and mastered..his knowledge..the history..his intellect...his intelligence.his art..he writing books..his journalism skillis..leaving his home to live in a foreign country in the most volatile areas..and I could go on...Versatility at its best...
This was a great interview. You can tell this man really loves the music & the culture. Him even think inna patois when him answering some of the questions. Big respect fi da one ya Teach!
great video! THANK YOU! I'm an Irish American white youth from downtown NYC in Dominic's age group who used to par with J'cans and trust me - Dominic's name used to ring bells back then!!! lol But about the art thing - can't ever forget the LEGENDARY Wilfred Limonious!! who made so many dancehall album covers come to life. Amazing artist! Would love if you did a video about Limonious one day @Teach Dem!! Please file that with the million request you must get, lol - and please know you are very very appreciated!!!! God bless you and your family for 2023 Teach Dem and Dominic! 90 minute interview and not a dull moment! 1
I agree with you bro. This man taught us some things about Marcus Garvey that they never taught us in My school that was named after the great man himself Marcus Garvey Secondary now Marcus Garvey Technical. This was was on the show Regal Rock 88 at Addison Park Brown's Town St. Ann.
Teach Dem and Dominic I want to say give thanks, I knew this was going to be good; but I have to be honest I didn't know it would be this good, I can surely say I walk away from this interview learning a lot, I hope some of the things that were discusses in this interview didn't just fly over some people head especially the part about Jamaica and how England and America dictate our crime and violence in our Island. Once more give thanks to Teach Dem and Dominic.
Great interview. I'm happy to have the pleasure of hearing Dominic tell his story which highlighted his connection to Jamaica. I enjoyed every minute of it. Very good work Teach Dem.
Bwoy Teach you really do your homework for your interviews. 🙌🏾 Sometimes I watch and if I didn’t know better I would think you were much older and actually lived/parred with these old timers. EXCELLENT interview‼️
This interview had me up refusing to go to the bathroom. It is amazingly educational , modest and warming to my soul. This man is clearly entrenched with our Jamaican culture which some of us are afraid to embrace. This interview was riveting , hard hitting to the core. Well done teach dem even though at some point during the interview you were also the interviewee with class. Love it.👍👍💯
Teach Dem Dominic knows a lot about music whether it be dance hall reggae he is like David Rodigan they study the music 100 per cent nuff nuff information and an easygoing guy You outdid yourself again Teach Dem 🙏🙏🙏🎶🎵🩰💯ℹ️
He has as much reggae musical history as many Jamaican artists and also has connections with hip-hop greats such as KRs1 and the late great Tupac (RIP). Plus, he is not boastful at all and carries himself in a down-to-earth way. Also, his art illustrations are fantastic.
Dominic is roots rocking reggae icon. Fell in love and still is with the island, music, history and future. I'm learning so much about my favourite jeanre of music. Love this interview. Teach Dem really brings these veterans close to the fans. Without these interviews we wouldn't know half of what we now know about the artist and what they went through. Dominick is completely immersed in the music and the Jamaican culture. He was just born in a different Country but, truly grounded in the way of life. A real historian of the music.
Up there in your top 10 best interviews. Dominic is a very talented man, his drawings are amazing. I remember as a young woman going back and forth to London to see Saxon Studio and hanging out a few times in Ladbroke Grove to glimpse Aswad. Teach dem I loved your genuine surprise when Domnic dropped some gems from history. He was so right in regards to the state of Jamaica and it's great to get this from a different perspective. Definitely will get his book. Another Stella interview. 👏🏾 👏🏾
This was a well well interesting interview. I saw him in the early days in the UK. Well talented man outside of music I hope he writes his book he has a story to tell because I would be one of the first in line to buy it. I can't stand when artist put in the work and don't see their hard earn royalties as they get older. He has worked and walked among many great artists and I know he is well respected within his fraternity. Teach Dem you never fail to please.
Ur so right Teach. He's a musical Historian. His Grammar school served him well: the ease with which he expresses himself; varied vocabulary...clearly gifted with words. 🇯🇲🏴
I myself was enjoying myself in those era at the dance balls in Dominic times in dances they were enjoyable times really Jamie's was the super power in those times yeah
Big up to Tach Dem and Dominic. a great interview, that was well presented and timely. It is always fascinating when people from other nations visit a country and can identify some much good in that place that residents are unable to observe, Lets hope that you can get that book published. Dominic has taken the time to experience and overstand the fragile nuances that have made Jamaica what it is. I also agree that it will only be a matter of time before they gentrify JA, and true ordinary Jamaicans will either be priced out or bought out... Sadly. A powerful interview
