Great video showing honest live fault finding and thought process using the X- Tool D7 scan tool again. The D7 looks a really versatile tool that can save you money and time.
Hi, glad you liked the video. The fault code pretty much told me what was wrong but it was nice to back that up with a bit of live data so you can see the difference before and after changing a part. For a hobby mechanic I think it's a great tool and it's paying for itself. I'm having fun using it too! Looking to try some key programming next!
I own this Xtool D7 scanner and just an FYI there is no ABS auto-Bleed capability for a 2019 Jeep Wrangler JL, which was very disappointing. It did have ABS auto-Bleed capability for a 2018 Silverado, which worked great.
Late to this, and marginally tangential, I've had about half a dozen high (ish) mileage Golf's, Jetta's and Passats with door electrical issues. The loom through the door doesnt quite have enough slack and the cables rub against each other with every door close and eventually short. It can be very irritating as if the door is shut with some vigour, the wires move and problems go away and perhaps new ones occur. Fiddly but relatively simple to fix, but have to solder, not use crimps etc as there isnt a lot of room.
Hi, thanks for this great info! I'll take a look at my door wiring sometime and see if I have the same issues you've had. Everything still works as it should at the moment but nice to know in case locks/windows stop working. I think I'll be running this one as long as I can. My last Golf did 235,000 miles so that's my target. Thanks for your comment 🙂
