Really glad it turned out so well for them. I've got nothing against sport climbing, but the thought of climbing in a social environment just makes me nauseous. I'd never stand in line to climb a route. This is what it's all about for me. I'm glad more people are learning the joy and personal benefits of climbing, but it's seems to be necessary to go more remote these days for a decent trad experience. I used to be able to be the only party on a wall within minutes to an hour or so of my home.
All your films are really well and each has a tendency to either bring anxiety or put terror. I'll be on the sidelines in the perfect role of spectator and hats-off to the brave and doing what few can. Maybe a new tag line is in order... Love sports that can cause bodily injury or worse? We have you covered...
What is the music that plays throughout the start of this great video? I would appreciate if the music was listed in the About of your excellent videos. Thanks!
I remember driving through that area when we were driving from rocklands to montagu and exclaiming to my girlfriend, that this place looks f#*@!_ insane! And there is a major motorway that goes right through the area funny enough
The music during the climbing footage is unnecessary. Hundreds of metres in air, in a pristine mountain setting, the sounds of the climb can be mesmerising: I would like to hear the indifferent silence of the mountain, the occasional calls to team-mates, focused and intense, the metallic clink of the gear, the controlled breathing of the climber, belying the physical and mental strain. You don't have to drown all this out with music.
@@TimMcFarley There's plenty of images where they're leading but there are marks of chalk already on the wall. They did several attempts before the final push. Most likely there was a fixed rope coming from top where the cameraman was hanging
Great but also disappointing. Nice pictures, nice rock but please more climbing! and most of all we would like to see them placing trad gear... THAT would have been the most impressive!
hi!! i love your videos, they actually inspired me to start making my own. i just posted my first vid, if you would check it out and tell me what you think that would be amazing!!

Really amazing, my respect, good job!
The title of the short film is The World Above. Not A World Above.

i don't understand how the camera gets above the leaders on a ~20 pitch first ascent... ??
me either
There's 4 of them so one goes first with a camera sets an anchor they pull the rope and some else releads the pitch easy:)

just an idea. maybe better if everybode speaks in his / her mother language and then subtitle it to english? anyway, beautiful
Why when they all speak fantastic english?
@@bertieblackman8791 I do believe that they can express themselves more easilly (better?). No doubt they speak very well.
when i look at it, i can say please don't continue :)
whats the point of making a trad climbing movie if you skip all the gear placement ...
Nice video but lacking a bit of joy from the team.
Footage would be better without helmets. More legit.
You would rather climbers get injured? Wtf?
