This Is The best tutorial I Have Ever Seen making a mini album . I can’t Wait to watch It again while trying to make It .
I am a beginner in making albums and I love watching yours Daphne because you explain things so Succinctly this is the first time I have bought from you the let it Snow collection and it’s so beautiful and I love all the extra features thank you so much I really appreciate you
Thank you Maria - I hope you are pleased with our shop! Thanks so much for commenting
I have this collection and it is beautiful! Thank you Daphne and Julie For everything you do for us.
You are so welcome!
Wow, great size album. Going to have to clear off my desk for this one. Need to buy stock of black paper to keep up with you LOL. Great tutorial.
Daphne, this album is so beautiful and I am all about Christmas. Thank you for taking the time to share your talent, you are such an artistic person. You make things so simple and when we do not understand you are so gracious to take the time to explain. Looking forward to your next project.
Thank you so much! I'll be doing an 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 album with Blue Fern Yuletide!
Daphne......When cutting chipboard, I use the paper cutter to make the first very fine cut in the chipboard and finish it with a rotary cutter size 45 and a 24 inch quilters rule to finish the cut. I find this eliminates that rough bit on the edge of the chipboard. I also , being a quilter as well, keep a lined self healing mat on my work table.
A hand help rotary cutter? I've often wondered if that would be a good solution.
Thank You for getting back so quickly. I want to say my brown paper was 100 lb and stronger better right? Wrong less plyable ripped, ladies learn from mistakes.I’ll never do that again .I unfortunately have already made the pages. I also took your advice on the cutter, looked for it in your shop but couldn’t find. Thank You Deb
In general if you are scoring and folding I do not recommend anything over 80lb - my go to is 65 lb astrobright. You can alway mat with an additional color (tho it adds a lot of weight). We do not sell the trimmers in our shop...try amazon. Daphne
Wish I was in San Diego!!! I'm a bit far away in Melbourne Australia!!!! Love these albums.
New sub here.. just came upon your channel. This was a very understandable and easy to follow tutorial ... looking forward to watching more. thank you !!
Welcome to our channel! Thank you for your feedback. Daphne
Scrap N Create 😊
Hi Daphne, a big thank you as always for my orders and the extras. I really appreciate you getting back to me on the cutter too, always try to read comments lately so I don’t ask questions already answered, but I’ve done it. I have a question you said you would have used a dark brown card stock for woodland friends, I happened to have some and I was just wondering what you would use as extra binding? I only have black and white tape. Thank You Deb
I would use black book binding tape or possibly try to get away without using it. Daphne
Thank you that video worked I finished my hinge.I don't know why I couldn't get it. I have made so many of these.
No worries - drop a line anytime. Daphne
Now I know why my pages were uneven! The way you attach your pockets to the hing is a much better method!
glad to be of help
Love this album, I am just going to start and I would like to know if you used 110 lb black card stock for album cover and insert pages? Thank you for the great instructions ❤️
I used 65lb cardstock
Hey Daphne thanks for the tutorial I was wondering if there was a tutorial on the mini album that Christine did of the princesses thank you
Here is the playlist for the 8 x 8 princess album that Christine created. We do not have a tutorial for the 5 x 7 Princess that Chistine created only a walk through. Daphne

Danke ❤
Thank you for sharing your talents
You are very welcome! I'll be using this base for the Graphic 45 "Lost in Paradise" album. I hope to have this complete by June 1st. I just started cutting the design paper last night -it's beautiful. So if you want to get a head start this is the base to build.
At 26:42 you flip the hinge over and there is (magically, haha) scor tape there already! What size tape is that? :D Also, at 40:30 you put the tape on the hinge for the pocket page off camera... what size did you use there?
Thanks so much for providing the time stamp that really helps me zero in on the questions...for the hinge (mountains) I use 3/8th inch score tape. At 40:30 use either 3/8th or 1/4 inch score tape. Make sure to place the tape at the top of the hinge so nothing peeks out from under the pocket page. Daphne
Thanks for this tutorial is very helpful 📒📒✒️🖋❤️❤️❤️
Your welcome!
Gracias, ya lo encontre!!.
Thank you
In the description it says that the pocket inserts are 8 3/8 x 10. But that won't fit in the 8x10 pocket, will it?
you are right should be 7 3/4 x 10 sorry for the delay
Do you use the book binding tape?
So sorry I forgot to thank Julie, as you said she gets the orders out and she does really quickly.❤️
Sorry I forgot to respond! I pass along the comments and she sees them as well. Thank you so much for taking time to provide feedback it really helps! Daphne
What is the weight of your 12x12 and 8x11 cardstock? 65lbs? Thxs
65lb
@@ScrapNCreateVideos thank you
Love this album, but I'm having alot of trouble with the score tape placement on the hinge. Can you help me?
I will try what seems to be the trouble? What size tape are you using?
I can't seem to figure out how to put the score tape on and get 4 hinges. I'm using three eights score tape.
ruclips.net/video/ALGk-gsZFpc/видео.html here is a video showing how I apply the scortape on the 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 album, skip ahead to 1:33:22 and you can see how I apply it. Daphne
Are the pocket inserts supposed to be 7 7/8 x 10 or 8 3/8 by 10?
The inserts should be at least an 1/8th inch shorter than the pocket. If you plan to put designer on both sides and photos i would recommend 1/4 inch shorter than the pocket. daphne
@@ScrapNCreateVideos thanks
I might’ve missed this put what pound weight is the cardstock for the pages?
I use 65lb Neenah Astrobright - Eclipse Black
@@ScrapNCreateVideos Awesome, I found this at my local Staples store! But what about the 12x12 for the album wrap?
I also use 65lb for this - either 3 sheets joined of the neenah or recollections (which I"m not crazy about so I always reinforce the spine hinge area with book binding tape). Daphne
With the amount of tape being used, I'd like to offer an alternative. Shure Tape DT200 is 1 7/8" wide x 164 feet double-sided tissue tape and it is STICKY! I paid $3.99/roll on ebay.
Im confused....at the 37:02 mark you say to score on the 8.1/2" side and also says that on the banner.....it looks to me like you have scored along the longer side (top and bottom of page). Or am I completely discombobulated ?!?!?!?! LOL
place the cardstock into the scoreboard with the 8 1/2 inch along the top of the scoreboard (in a portrait orientation). score 1/2. When I specify the side it's the side across the top of the score board. Make sense? Daphne
@@ScrapNCreateVideos Oh....ok.....got it !!!. Sorry, it just confused me.... I love that paper collection. thanks again Daphne.
I think that;s how most people state it - at leas the one's I've seen. If you think there is a better method to explain I'm happy to make change.. What ever make the tutorial usable. Daphne
@@ScrapNCreateVideos Maybe you could say something like ...score down the 10.1/2" side by placing the 8" side along the top of the scoreboard.....just for the newbies and "challenged" like me..... ha ha ha
I will do that! Thanks Daphne
Hi, is scor tape the same as double sided sticky tape please.
Yes it is....ScorTape is a brand (which I highly recommend). I have albums that are several years old an the tape has not failed. I can not say that about some other tapes that I have used in the past (mostly joann bargin stuff can even remember the brand).
What weight is your black cardstock?
65lb - I use Neenah Astrobrights.
Easy to follow tutorial! Do you find it easier to add the pockets after the pages are in the album?
In a perfect world I would do all my design work out of the book and add the pages last. Having said that I think it is harder to "teach" that way. I find isolating major processes by video is an easier way to provide instructions: so my videos will always have 1) the base, 2) the flaps/ and pockets, and 3) the designer papers. Sometimes the designer layers are more than 1 video depending on the design of the flaps and pockets. Otherwise I'm doing all 3 processes for each page. Daphne
Thank you. I am working on an album now using the Bloom collection and I am attempting to do all the page work before putting them in. Your response makes me feel better about the process.
Working your pages before you install will go a long way to preserving your cover and spine. Are you using any of our tutorials or doing your own? Would love to see what your working on.....
I used your Bloom tutorial and also added some page designs from other tutorials on your channel. I will send some pictures once it is complete. I have been really excited to learn all about making an album from scratch.
They are so much fun to make - for me it's really about building a book and not so much about have a photo album.
Where do you get your chipboard, and what size is it?
I use a brand called Grafix. I use 12 x 12 for my larger albums and 8 1/2 x 11 for my 8 x 8 and smaller. Search for "grafix medium weight" and you'll find its pretty easy to find. Daphne
Sorry I found it!
No problem. Daphne

thank you!
