They are referring to whispering with that hand gesture. So to remember the gesture they used the mnemonic 'Quack Quack' for practice and ended up doing it on the stage too. Initially they started off with the three fringered gesture that Hyuk oppa showed then they moved on to duck like gesture to make it look less weird. Yup That's it. I hope I made myself clear enough though.^^
To help identify them. The staff members see hundreds of idols whose styles are constantly changing..also some ppl probably never learn the idols' names..I mean, they're at work doing their jobs.. creating shows and what-not. :)
