- In part one, I designed, built and assembled the sink with specialised plywood from my local DIY outlet. Now the real work begins. In the final part of the process, the sinks plumbing and waterproofing is dealt with. I outline and give instructions for each stage. Hopefully the instructions will help you build your own darkroom sink too!
From making the darkroom sink plughole, sealing the darkroom sink with epoxy, sealing the seams of the sink with epoxy filler

Finally it’s done! What a mammoth project. ☺️ now you can use the huge papers we bought. Stoked to watch more darkroom videos.
Thanks Georg!
Great work, nice for big trays. Do you also that big prints?
Hi Luk B, Im hoping to doing large print soon, as I have quite large papers I got in a jobs lot awhile back. Plus, also large cyanotype prints etc...
Well done Gav! Big up! 👊🏾
Thank you!
Great video , time for me to start mine !
Why did you choose coated boards rather than regular ply if you were laying up epoxy ?
Hi Austen,
Thanks for your comment.I got the boards at good price, in fact cheaper than standard plywood. But of course standard plywood is fine too.
Best,
Gavin
A couple of to the point videos. Very useful as I am about to start my own darkroom sink project. Not as big as yours, more like 175cm x 60cm.
That's sound great, 175cm perfectly fine. I'm glad found something useful in the video. Best Gavin
What a project - Job well done!
Thank you Dave! a labour of love I guess - had to be done ☺️
