Quebec was a french colony in Canada before it was taken over by the british due to the French-Indian War in the 1700s. So it's in North America but they mostly speak french, although i'm pretty sure they all know english too (never been) but their french and their accent is so ridiculously weird to us in France that it's practically a different language. Hope that helps.
that's interesting, I've never been to quebec so all I was talking about came from a friend telling me about his vacation. That's cool about the swear words, in France we still have a hard understanding you :p
1.Louis Amstrong - Wonderful World 2.Ben.e King - Stand by me 3.The Temptations- My Girl 4.James Browm - Sex Machine 5.Bee Gees - Staying Live 6.Stevie Wonder - Isn't ly lovely 7.Mickael Jackson - Billie Jean 8.Prince - Kiss
Actually, we call submarines a certain type of sandwich, not all of them. It's the english name for them, too. And about tabernacle. It is a swear word. We took (almost) all the religious terms and used them to express anger, therefore the term «swear words». So we don't say «Tabernacle», but «Tabarnak», «Christ» became «Criss» and «Calice» became «Câlisse» and so on. We almost use the same word, but have different meaning for them sometimes. Like american and British english, I think.
1. What a wonderful world - Louis Armstrong 2. Stand by me - Ben E. King (original artist) 3. My Girl - The Temptations 4. I feel like being a (sex machine) - James Brown 5. Stayin alive - Bee Gees 6. Isn't she lovely - Stevie Wonder 7. Billie Jean - Michael Jackson 8.Wild Thing - Tone Lōc 9. Kiss - Prince And i copy this from the "Man who can sing everything:)" video (like a boss), hahaha
Let me tell you, the confusion goes both ways! That french friend of mine? Almost made us pee our pants when she told us that where she's from, «Pétard» is a swear word, when here, kids are ruder than that! I think France's french is more proper, and ours more coarse, like the brit's english sounds more refined than the american.
I know you comm is a long time ago but Montréal is not in france dude it in Québec in canada and im from there and it the only french province (state) in the canada
they do, it's really weird, but for example for we say voiture and they say "char" which is much closer to car and literally means chariot. another example is that for sandwiches, we say sandwich and they says sous-marin which means submarines, you know like subs from subway. it's weird little things like that. Oh and Tabernacle, never forget Tabernacle, wtf is that? rofl
