- Опубликовано: 26 сен 2024
- I finally started the Mini Chopper build. It all went along nicely with no set backs. I get the engine mount welded in, the seat bracket fabricated up and the swing arm stiffened. It shouldn't be long and we will get to ride this hog. Don't forget to like, comment, subscribe, and share these videos.

Wow you look so young in this yeah I remember when you first made this video and post it on RUclips no one's ever heard of you no one's ever heard of red beards garage this is where it all started I like to thank you for your videos over the years
Best Mechanic's Line Ever!!! "We didn't have the specialty tool....so we just used a flat head and a hammer and it worked fine". 5:41
my favorite way to weld something small like the engine plate. is to actually ground to the vice itself. maxes everything so much easier
hell yeah, Hatchet and I are getting parts for our up coming build. You'll be impressed
Make sure to tag me in some pics on Instagram when you get it done.
I love the bike build! Keep it going. I come home everyday from school to watch your videos
Thanks Austin. I hope to have a lot more videos to come.
Austin! is who I think it is?? lol
I love this project soooo much. I've been wanting to do this exact thing for so long just to see it done, but never had the money to do it. Now i can actually see it be done. I have a mini chopper build with a 212cc with a Torque Converter already and about to get it street legal, but it's not as cool as this. Keep up the awsome work and the amazing quality videos.
+Branman1583 thank you for watching and supporting.
25 Minute build video? ! Rockin!
A Tip.. and Just the tip mind you. I am quite the beginner at welding, however my brother is a professional welder/fabricator/machinist and gives me tips now and then. If I recall, he said if you're welding a thinner piece of steel to a thicker piece of steel, you want to angle the torch with a bias towards the thicker metal as to concentrate more of the heat there. So if you're going to fillet weld the motor plate flat bar to the swingarm, you'd have the torch above the swingarm tube pointing at the motor flatbar and run a traditional bead walking the weld between the two metals, but hold the torch on the thick side longer and just quickly dip it to the thinner material. That should prevent it from burning through the thinner wall material and still give you a good weld.
+elesjuan yeah I also had my welder turned up really high from where before I was welding thicker metal. Thanks for the tips though
This thing is gonna be bad ass when its done
Yes it is
love the bike build. I use to have one of these. my parents bought it for my birthday. can't wait to see the finished product. I may try to buy another one now. I'm inspired by your video and want to do something like this
I hope you do man. I appreciate your support and thanks for watching.
Curtis Williams checkout Mustie1 on youtube. he does some cool motorized bikes and so much more
I'm very happy that you are making a chopper build. I have a chopper bike and have been wanting to make it into a motorcycle. Your video was very helping. keep the good videos up.
Thanks man. You can copy and improve on my work and make your into one
This is a Build I APPROVE of!!! Go RED!!! ;-) Just wish some of the Billet CDC Builders would mock up a Harley Engine with a Bicycle sized Prototype!!! Like the 74cc's V Twin... Who ever comes up first with that Motor will be able to quickly join the Millionaires Club and be the NEW Motorized Bike Genius FOREVER !!! Please put me down for a prepaid motor like that!!!
If I can't have the Great sound of a V Twin... On my trike Build I might consider the Hemi 212 like Red Beard is using, or a 125 Honda with electric Start and the "Gasbikes"/"GasTrike" 79cc Kit... On my OCC Stingray I would like at least a Honda 125 engine with a 4-5 speed trany and a Kick start included... (I love Kick starts and 4 cycle engines with open headers) THANKS!!!
I remember when I got mine I was home sick from school and I looked outside and my grandma bout me this bike but blue for 50 bucks I so so happy me and my friend had one and we always went threw the mud and snow with them they are troopers
Wow great job, looking very cool, thanks to share, with detail, keep these good videos, dissasemble & restoring, joe.
I bought a monster moto, its awesome! looking to build my own minibike! I'm learning a lot from your channel, Thanks!
Nice video cant wait to see the finished product.
I like the idea of 70 miles an hour, cool build man.
nice looking welds! major improvement, that's what I like to see.
Love the long videos man thanks!
Good job Red, I like the fact that you never let your adolescent dreams of making a Chopper fade away & become lost, just make sure you strengthen those frame welds 4 us big boys!! Your pretty Damn Awesome in my book Red, So get that Motor running, get out on the highway, born 2 be wild!!
I'm in the middle of this very project. Went a bit different direction on the seat mod, cut the down tube off right at the saddle frame & rewelded it towards the front with bracing posts from the downtube towards the back and adding a sissy bar for added support.
Been over two years since you made this video. Pretty good welds for being new at it. Build going along great!
It's looking awesome! You had me laughing when you described what could happen if the frame broke.. lol.
I like the build, keeper going
awesome can't wait to see the next one
I'd paint it matte black and do red wheels with white wall tires can't go wrong with that on a motorcycle
frickin awesome man never seen one of these before but I always wanted to do one of these.
keep up the good work love this and the four seater kids go cart your doing but stop worrying about your welding to say you have only been doing it for a short time it looks better then some men I have seen and they have been welding a he'll of a lot longer then you but at the end of the day your man enough to point out any mistakes not like some they would of just edited it out and redone it so just keep plodding on and let them bad mouth as mush as they like I think you should be proud of yourself
I appreciate that man.
Eres Grande amigo
Exelente ....gracias por compartir tus videos
I love the idea and will be exited to see how you wire lights to a predator 212 to make it street legal
Probably will be on ep 3 thanks for watching and supporting the channel
Red Beard's Garage door
Phoenix Sholtis our go kart has lights and electric start with a 212 and a horn with a battery. We didnt go into detail but we will in the future
I have 3 new ones of these and u have just answered every question i had... It just sucks that i have to do this 3 times .... One for me and 2 for my sons ...
I have a 80cc occ chopper with racing upgrades. love it. goes fast about 40 with a 36tooth
The reason I went with the 212cc is I already had one and it will look more like a proper motorcycle when Im don't
Loving it so far bud. Make sure your chain will clear that support bracket you are putting on the other side before welding it in solid. Based on the one you welded in already, you might run into some clearance issues.
Will do man. Thank for watching
Awesome job!!!!
Love it man... Ive recently obtained one myself n wanted to wat u jus did but had no idea to go about it.... Im new to this n this inspired me a lot thnx a lot dig the passion.... Again looks very gud n legit great job!🤘
Love the build!
I have that same engine on my Mini Bike
I think I want it when u get finished with it red beard
I will see if I can mail it to you lol
please. I do want it
It is coming together Very nicely. I love the metal look I say just throw some clear coat on her. But on the back brace I would put a piece of metal from the flat stock to the bottom frame at an angle to strength for the twisting motion. (Sorry hard to explain). Also I love the leather speak lmao!
Cool bike.
Awesome build I've only just recently started following you and spent the last week watching all of the videos and loved them all they have been very entertaining. Can't wait to see the next one and all
The best from me in Australia
Well Shannon I appreciate you watching and supporting the channel. I got a lot more videos coming out so stay tuned.
Your very welcome I can't wait to see them
Glad you did this. Ive been wanting to do the same but with a predator vtwin gas or diesel engine.
I am liking this build. Nice work man.
Cool man ii like it 👍
Nice! I like your swing arm supports. I had an idea of large gussets in the triangle of the swing arm. Get the engine set up and then do the pegs, so that you position them properly to clear engine, moving and hot parts. You could use the cranks with the pedals on them and welded in the proper position. I am looking forward to see it progress.
Geoff
nice build so far guys keep it coming
great build
+brian waity new episode up tomorrow
Keep it up red love the vids! Keep em comin
Have you ever considered using a pit bike (crf50 honda clone) motor in one of your builds? I always thought one of those engines would fit perfect where the cranks are on one of these OCC frames. Its a smaller overall package plus it would give you 3 or 4 speeds. You can also get it with or without electric start, and they have a stator to run 12 volt headlights and stuff with or without a battery. Just throwing that out there as a proven reliable power plant with a very versatile design! Keep up the good work!
Well the 212cc has so many upgrades you can double the hp on it. The Cr50 engines are only like 6 hp and you cant really get much more power out of them. I had a ttr90 and it was 6hp stock with a potential of maybe 9 at most.
I beg to differ on not being able to get much power out of a horizontal honda brother! The most common ones are 50, 70, 90, and 125cc's but I would look at the 140cc yx140 and theres also a YX160! These little motors can actually be built up over 200cc's and I've seen race bikes putting down over 30 HP with 6 speeds! Also look up Kikker hard knock motorcycles, (they sell kit bikes that look like bobbers based around pit bike engines) they only run 50cc-125cc in those and if you google them I think you'll be surprised how well they run! Just some food for thought, I know the predator is what your familiar with, but expand your horizons and just check them out. I think you'll be surprised if your only experience is a stock TTR90!
I have experienced a lot of small bikes. The price to build one of those engines compared to a predator to me is not worth it. Gears isn't a big deal because of how good a torque converter works. I don't want to have that much money and time in a engine when the predator is so much cheaper and easier.
I'm just saying if you ever need a smaller power plant that doesn't need a torque converter, the pit bike engines can be a lot of fun to work with and can be had in a variety of configurations. And with all the pit bikes out there you can sometimes come across these engines super cheap! Did you look up the Kikker Hardknock bikes? I think they are pretty neat and if anything would give you some inspiration for a build like this.
looking great so far. Glad to see u got a great start on urs.
Yeah it is nice to use new parts on it.
that thing looks awsome
+Trenton Stroud thanks for watching Trenton
looks realy good
badass just one thing dude you should push ur weld at about a 45 degree angle but ur welds look better than the factory one but I think it's a look ass bike so keep on bro
Your gonna have fun trying to get that thing up to seventy
It will be scary i would say. I have different tires and wheels to go on her
They make a special tool for taking the cranks off called a crank puller. you also need to use a chain tool for chains without masterlinks
Once you said red beard here I followed and subbed (:
Dude I'm 11 when I was 9 I bought one for the same reason
looks cool !
That is awesome
Hey brother, I did one of them 6 years ago, with the occ chopper bike. came out sweet, Gave you a shout out in my live show last Saturday, Cheers The Dizzy ONe.
Thanks man. I was working on the bike or I would have watched it. I don't get much time to really work on stuff so I got to get all I can in when I can. Thanks for the support brother.
Super cool
looking sweet. when you go to register it can you walk us threw it with details so we know how to register are own.
having fun watching
yeah I can do that. Thanks for watching
Hey buddy looks real good so far honestly and that's not a bad idea been want I g to see someone do this!
For the fender scene that would be blocked why not just to a brace on each side of the screw this way it's braced on each side and the screw won't be blocked
looking good
Thanks man
see if they make a rake out kit for the front forks it would sick if they do brotha and nice work
+Frankie Medina thanks man. I'm going to make a custom fairing for it
Greg my friend, you shore do weld perty... LoL! I'm about to purchase a welder myself and learn how to do it on my own..wish me luck brother and I'm also gonna build myself a predator power electric start dirt bike so thanks again for all your help that you provide on RGB! Let er rip!
Get yourself a spray can of anti-splatter. Makes cleaning up your bbs a whole lot easier.
The bikes going to be sick love your videos from Tn
Thanks man Im in good ole Tn too
There is a guide online on how to stretch these bikes for more comfort when someone taller than a small child rides it.
With the seat moved back and the stretched foot pegs it should be really comfortable for me.
Don't drag with the MIG always push. Also finish welds around corners as that will be a crack waiting to happen on anything that vibrates.Good job keep it up mate.
I love the build
nice job on the build
Looking nice man
Omg that's so cool
Good job Red, you've impressed me many times before, just make sure you brace everything up good, Us Big Guys need extra reinforcement, don't want to have a bike come apart @ 70 mph
Going down the road??
Weld-on-Red, love your channel!!!
This is what I am trying to do
It is a ton of fun. I hope to have a good ride video out next week. Im going to install some temporary brakes for now.
Think I would've painted the gas tank red or gold with red would be nice
What are the gears sprockets and sizes that you have used for the Jack shaft I have the same bike
Also, a 16" motorcycle/car tire fits the 20" rear rim (or any 20" bicycle rim that can take the width).
Did not know that.
I have a wide Goldwing tire mounted on one of those rear rims, but it's too wide to fit the bike. A friend mounted 16" whitewall Harley tires on his.
Thats the exact wheel that I will be putting on there. Harley 16 x 3
Red Beard's Garages
could you please make a welding tricks and tips vid sometime? you're real good
I could probably do that
hey red beard can you do the 125cc pit bike motor please!!!!!!!!!
If I could find one for a good deal
Hey , cool stuff going on there , on that chopper build i heard you say that peanut tank is H.D. WHERE CAN I BUY ONE AT A BIKE DEALER
tight bike👌
some good ideas there, BUT the orange county chopper never appealed to me. There are other AWESOME frames that you could work with such as the west coast jesse james chopper or even the Spoiler chopper
for moving the seat back , cut backbone at the weld to the upper a-arm then cut just 1/4 in ahead of the seat pipe then reverse it moving the seat to the farthest point back and weld it up.... done deal
Its cool
Cool i have the bicycle i took the wheels and front off im putting it on a mini bike frame to build a mid size motorcycle as something to do over the summer ... Ps if you have have any tips for welding bending sheet metal or any tips just reply ok 👍
Love it Bro. BikeLife
Thanks man
Is ECCW bike builds still around ?
make a. motorcycle engine swap on a go cart
When will the next 4 seater build video come out
+DRS Everything hopefully Saturday
BEEN COOL TO USE SPRING MOUNTS ON THE SEAT TO HELP WITH BUTTOX COMFORT,LIKE SOME HARDTAIL BIKES HAVEKKJUST A THOUGHT,COMFORT IS NICE WEN U CAN ADD IT,,LOL
Watch the later video where I install a springer seat.
Where do you get the songs when your welding. Sounds dope and my videos could use music cause my vids are boring
I will put a link to it on the comment section of this video tomorrow
What state do you live in where a bicycle with a lawnmower engine can be made street legal? That would never fly here in PA. Even if you could get it assigned a VIN#, the Predator 212 wouldn't pass EPA standards for new construction motor vehicle.
i dont see why they dont just use 140 cc pitbike engines it would be quicker and better
M Kefer they see it as a high end scooter
Stop electing liberals. Problem solved.
I would like to know if there is a link to where I can get that mount cause I want to get a 212 for my chopper bike an start making it look like a motorcycle too.
I am doing a similar build and instead of the Jack shaft going to the opposite side can i just go off the same side as the clutch?
its looking good i cant wait to see the finished bike :)
I have a stingray bike the same color
I was sent here from Udizzy1969 to check you out and subscribed
Ole udizzy is a good man. Been watching him for years. Thanks for coming over and checking the channel out. Hope you like what I am doing.
Hello ,can 125CC Single Cylinder 4 Stroke Engine Motor Kit For Honda CRF50/70 CL70
Fit in that space created ..?..
thanks
My son left his mini bike out in the rain..and now it won't start it has a 212 predator I've tried everything I can think of do you got any ideas please
Some times the kill switch can get water in them making them short out. Try unhooking it to see if thats what it is
