Don’t get me wrong I felt chemistry between them from the start, but it felt like their actual relationship happened kinds fast. If you know what I mean

PLEASE tell me there are people who like June and Nahbil together cause they're SO underrated as individuals and as a couple. I feel like out of everyone their relationship happened at a normal beautiful pace whilst everyone else was jumping in too fast. Also they have been so sweet to each other since the beginning and it started as a friendship and blossomed into something more. Neveah had just attacked him and pointed fingers at him and then they kiss.... let that sink in....No interaction at all, and all of that happened in the span of one episode. June and him were always there for each other and realized they liked each other a lot. And that's that

June gets treated like trash and walked all over and June has always been there for him Neveah and him only had one interaction, kissed, and then called it quits. It happened out of nowhere at least June and him were friends and a progressing relationship, a REAL one at that and there's a lot of chemistry. You can't change my mind, there is no one more deserving to be together than them too.

I see a lot of people arguing that this relationship and especially that “I love you“ felt kind of rushed and I totally agree with you, BUT to me that actually makes sense with Oren’s character. The only other people we see him being intimate with are Shane, who he basically just uses for sex (I love their dynamic as friends, but their intimacy was hella toxic) and Bette, who uses him for sex or tries to either manipulate him or use his standing as one of the best dancers at the school to get what she wants. So he hasn’t known real intimacy and feelings and appreciation. That in combination with the pressure all of the dancers are constantly under and that dorm control person (forgot her name) running around and them never having time to take their time, it makes sense, that Oren is in fact rushing to keep a good thing. Furthermore outside forces keep rushing them further as well with being thrown out of school together. Oren taking the leap for Nevaha was not planned. He was so sure he was irreplaceable and when he turned out to be in fact replaceable, he had already made one of the biggest sacrifices he could possibly make which obviously further deepened their relationship. And it’s not like they out of nowhere share all those sweet moments, Nevaha is pretty creeped out about the whole I love you part as well, which suggests that this is probably a director’s choice making Oren kind of desperate for her, which for reasons mentioned above makes sense.

Perfectly summed up. I liked the two together, and they had chemistry, but it definitely came out of nowhere, was rushed, and because of that, they did feel a bit odd. But character wise, Oren acting the way he does makes sense.

I honestly feel like their story was rushed and it did a disservice to the characters. HOWEVER....I do think they are good together. They just need more development.
They were building this relationship quite nicely... on the *first* episode! And then the writes forgot about it and what they were planning to do with it and later they remembered and were like, “... oh shit” and hushed everything xD

I LOVE THIS COUPLE OMG
This edit was done excellently because it makes the relationship look natural but when you watch the show, it actually came out of nowhere. I’m not feeling it. Also what was Neeveah and Nabil about? The relationships didn’t make sense man and Neevaeh’s storyline of being the best dancer kinda stopped- she weren’t getting solos nor fighting for them- by mid season, the shows actual main character became that annoying white girl. A damn mess.
All factual! The trailer made it seem like she was gonna be the next 'it' girl. Like she was gonna replace Cassie, not just as a student but as a dancer but she was just... average. She's wasn't even the star of the show. She became a background character. Also all the relationships were SO FORCED and underdeveloped.
Neeveah just became an advocate for change all of a sudden. And don’t get me started with Nabil the hoodie the dance video we never got to see finished product , the girl he says he finally loves. I am done

I really liked her with Nabil. The writers behaved as if their chemistry wasn't real. Now it's like they are worlds apart, and the kiss never happened.
I love these two together from the start. Then nothing. Then holding hands and looking at each other. Then dancing. Then "I love you". I just wished they could have been developed better. They have so much potential and are so good for each other. Anyways hoping season 2 does them justice. In the meantime I'll take them anyway I can 😍

being honest and agreeing with most of the comments, nevaeh and oren's relationship is wonderful. BUT the writers have messed everything up. the chemistry that they had while they danced was undeniable, and if they had developed it more, I don't know, an unexpected kiss while they danced, oren's I LOVE YOU would have made more sense in that scene. It is obvious that they both love each other but they don't know how. and in the last episode, when oren and bette hug, you can clearly see how nevaeh feels the same, but she doesn't want to be hurt again.

They've hung out more than anyone else and at a steady pace. It was pointless for them to even have Nevaeh and Nahbil dating, it started in one episode and ended in the same episode. June and him are perfect for each other and that's why he loves her and NOT Nevaeh.

Let’s just admit that the writers have no idea on how to build relationships. This relationship had no build up and no chemistry. The same way with the Muslim guy. Nevah thought he was the murder and called the cops on him and that same night they were all the sudden holding hands and in love. The whole show just awkward and rushed. I hope season 2 has better writing.
