  • Testing to see if it can actually charge my MacBook at 100W?
    Also how does it compare to a DCB113 battery charger?

    I have two, I got one when it first came out last year. main use is for my MacBook Pro, and that them camping every time. I have the m12 charger but the output is quite low and slow. 100 percent recommend the dewalt dcb094. the dewalt charger with a 8ah can recharge my MacBook Pro 16 m1 from 10% to 100%, the 5ah not quiet a full charge I want to say it got it up to around 70% from 10%

      Yeah they work all some for charging a MacBook Pro.

    Thanks for the warning about the AC adapter being 65W. I'm patient enough to wait for them to release a 100W version, I'll wait.

      No problem, yeah it showed up and I was like wait a minute, thought these were coming with 100W...I didn't see that it was only 65W when I ordered it.

    Just got mine today. Actually surprised it works. Even better the power supply fast charges my Noco GBX45 with Power Delivery kicking in (it requires 60W for Fast Charge) so tossing a Dewalt battery into the truck with the Noco ensures I'm good for a jump or emergency charging of devices.

    • @Tools-Tested

      Nice! yeah its crazy, works really well for its size. Cant wait to pair it with a 5ah power stack. I just wish it came with the 100w power brick they originally advertised.

    • @ohjasonj
      @ohjasonj Год назад

      @@Tools-Tested Exactly. hard to find a reliable 100w brick for under $50-60 so that would have been great. My MacBook Pro '21 charger is 96W so I might run some tests with that and see if it's worth dragging back and forth from the garage on a regular basis.

    I bought the DCB090 usb charger back in 2013 and still use it to this day. I just came across this video and didn’t know about their newest usb charger. It’s cool that it’s got the usb-c charging port and I’ll be getting one since the DCB090 doesn’t have a usb-c port for charing the iPhone 13.

    • @Tools-Tested
      @Tools-Tested  2 года назад

      I was going to get the DCB090 but then I seen this was coming out with USB C. They just released it, and are hard to find right now. But it works well and 100W is a lot of power.

    • @duncanmcleod39
      @duncanmcleod39 Год назад

      You can get a usb A to Usb C female adaptor and use it on the dcb090

  • @PyroAnonymous
    @PyroAnonymous Год назад +3

    That's actually better than the Dewalt wall chargers.
    With a 100w brick, it's not only faster than the DCB115, but it's much more versatile, being capable of being charged from either 120 VAC [with power brick] or 12 VDC [with charger that plugs into the ciggerate port]. Also, being able to charge your devices up to 100 watts from USB C

    I need something like that for my Makita 18V batteries. Is there something out there like this that works for Makita?

    • @Tools-Tested
      @Tools-Tested  Месяц назад

      Sadly Dewalt is the only one that supports PD currently. Makita only offers a USB A adapter with max out 2.4 amps.

    • @Ist_Geheim
      @Ist_Geheim Месяц назад

      @@Tools-Tested Hi, I think I've been misunderstood. I'd like to CHARGE my Makita batteries by a small device (incl. overload-protection).
      (For example for using a tool battery as a power bank on vacation without having the need to bring the big Makita charger with me. I don't need speed charging for this - slow charging over night via USB would be totally fine, with a small "backpack"-charger.)
      (Offtopic: I do know the Makita USB-adapter and I own one for two or three years now. But for your information there's aftermarket-USB-adapters for Makita-18V batteries out there. The one I got has USB, USB-C, 12V (!) at 3 amps and a light on it. The only downside on this aftermarket adapter is that it drains the battery even if unused, so you should not forget to seperate it from the battery after use.)

    Well done very professional ps don't use a 100w charger on your battery's even though it can take it it degradation for the cells need a cell rectorfier to balancing the cells very dangerous on lipo bag cells had 3 near fiery problems stick with older cells

    • @Tools-Tested

      US its 110, but the wall adapter is also rated for 220. Looks like the end on the wall adapter can be changed out similar to Apple products.
