Great lesson, Omar! About how to make accents with outside movement and the technique of "tek" and "ka" strokes- very helpful information for me.
Wish sometimes when my financial situation allows me I could ask you for lessons too

And are there any rules or recommendations on how to play fills competently and beautifully on the darbuka? I mean rhythmic patterns that are played over the basic rhythm. I've listened to many different composers, and the construction of patterns differs greatly between musicians from different countries. But the most beautiful and suitable for dancing rhythmic patterns are made by native speakers of culture. How to do it correctly, as for example did Khamis Henkesh or Hossam Ramzy? Thank you!

This is something that you can't explain with few words. There's a lot of factors that makes a drummer to play the way they play, folklore of each pattern acquired among the generations, the different percussion styles according to if you play for a dancer or not. The region where Darbuka exists.. there are rules for each rhythm path that they brake as a language exceptions and so on

@@OmarKattanPercussion In 17 years of playing the darbuka, I have never once come across a manual on how to play authentically. We (Europeans) have a slightly different musical mindset, so rhythmic patterns are often primitive and predictable. There is no possibility to learn from any of the masters, there is a war in my country and I cannot go abroad. It would be very interesting to know more about these rules. Thank you!
