This tribute looks at Genesis as a fallen angel needing to be saved - even if he requires saving from himself. As Genesis's mental state deteriorates during his futile quest to be a hero, Angeal and Sephiroth cannot bring him the salvation that he needs....will the Goddess?

He was never evil. I know it.
Something smug, sometimes jealous and envy, sometimes furious sometimes cruel in a way but right never evil - complicated and even in his darkest moments dedicated to the Goddess (livestream/ planet).
Interestingly he is the only one, she every appear to, curing his degradation and give him a second chance for atonement and trying to be the man he is meant to.
From the moment I knew of Genesis I knew I would fall deep. Sure enough, he not only fills my heart with joy to see him in various fanmade videos, he also weighs it with such a heaviness. Ugh, Gene you are something else. Thank you for keeping this upload on here.

This video blows me away...'n pulls my heartstrings for Genesis every time I watch it. To be quite honest with you, this video has nearly made me cry on several occasions.

It's been more than 3 years since I've seen this. I've changed my username twice, Graduated high school, started college, got a job, got a drivers license, and become a decent editor myself. But one thing hasn't changed. This is still a fantastic AMV. A great story, great effects, and it really tugs at your heart strings.

HOLY CRAP! This was GORGEOUS! The colors, the music, EVERYTHING was in PERFECT SYNC! And Nickelback is one of my FAVORITE artists, especially the song, Savin' Me. I first heard the song when I was watching that old show, Surgery Saved My Life and I was just mesmerized by it! Even though I don't necessarily like or even care for Genesis, I do like Sephiroth! You did an AMAZING, WONDERFUL job on your Genesis video! It actually had me smiling the entire time!

great vid one of my fav songs.
This 'girl', as you called her, is the goddess (Minerva) Genesis is reffering to throughout the game. She shows up in the cinemaic just after defeating Genesis for the second time. You can also fight her as the one of the bosses after passing some additional Shinra missions.
I'm eventually gonna play all games related to FF7, as well as FF7 again to make sense of the whole storyline. But if you could answer one question, what's Genesis's part in the story?
No need to explain all about him, just who/what he is and what is his main purpose? He seems related to Zack's (master?) and Sephiroth, that's all I can make of it. Nice vid like always ^^
I know that this a old comment, and you'd probably played CC already, but Genesis plays the role of the main antagonist of Crisis Core. But he's pretty misunderstood to where not too many people that has played Crisis Core likes him

@Rouxinolazul not sure of which angle you are refering to but the ones that are condemned tend to be the strongest for the fact that they won't allow themselves to go out without a fight. if you look at the ff7 timeline (still haven't found the clip from dirge of cerberus) he is the only one still alive out of the original 3 experiments. my opinion is he would not allow himself to be cast out he kept trying to prove he could keep standing no matter what happened he would keep standing
