Just wow!!! My family is in UT and my grandma's late husband was best friends with John. She told me about him and his story. He was trying to get my grandma and grandpa to invest in his business, help him get his office and different tools needed. My grandma said no, but I guess her husband actually gave him like $15,000 to help get it started the first time in CA... My grandma had pictures of him, his 1st wife and kids. I would have to look thru my grandma's stuff to find the info and pictures. Also, I would love to see you try like a sunrise or sunset eyeshadow, use colors like blue, pink, yellow, purple, orange... Just idea.

Of all the stories I have watched from you, this was one of the toughest! The people that were disfigured by him had no recourse. People who just wanted to feel like themselves and “normal.” Ugh it’s heart breaking.
That’s so crazy how he started out as wanting to go back to school because he never wanted another close call to death like he did with the thyroid patient to being a literal monster and not giving an F about who he killed or how he left their life permanently damaged
I know we're all focused on hearing the theme song, but she said something about going out on a date. @BaileySarian I'm really sorry about your breakup, but it's nice to hear you're getting back out there. I really hope you are doing well. You deserve all the happiness. ❤️🖤❤️🖤

I don’t blame Bailey to take a break after this story. My goodness the description is graphic and for her to see them images 💀 thanks for the stories, girl!!
Poor, poor Philip. Greg was no friend. There was a woman who blinded herself with drain cleaner in her therapists office with the same body dysmorphic disorder. It's worth an episode on this topic!

@@emilychristie1592 Interesting... yeah I was honestly under the impression she was married for some reason? I swore she had mentioned a husband in a lot of her older videos. So the part about a date took me by surprise. But yeah I don't want to speculate about her personal life, but that makes sense. We wish you well Bailey!!! Glad she's back!
I took care of a guy who didn't believe his finger was his. He was convinced that his wife cheated on him and was leaving him because of his finger. He was brought in as a Baker act for trying to remove his finger and then on our unit he bit his finger clean off. The surgeons decided not to reattach it because they felt it was best for him. They called it body integrity dysphoria.
For people wanting to go through procedures in shady places bc they're cheap: DON'T DO IT. Not only you're risking your life in doing it, it will most certainly end up costing you a whole lot more when you end up going to a certified professional to fix your botched surgery. Sometimes the cheapest stuff become a whole lot pricier by the end of the line.
I livein Scotland & people from the UK travel in their thousands to Turkey each year for all kinds of procedures as its cheaper. However the majority have no issues & get great work & looked after. Cheap can be goof to, its doing your research that matters, not the cost.
I have reached a new level of unbothered.. I was literally eating dinner while Bailey described the gangrene on his leg 😭 I’m more disgusted with myself for not being disgusted. I feel so bad for these victims though.. this man was absolutely crazy!!! What is wrong with Dr. Brown 😳
I know this is a really sad story but I couldn’t stop laughing at the idea of him coming to the consultation wearing one shoe, eating raw hotdogs and his pants falling down during surgery
31:00 I feel you, girl. A cat of my ex had somehow broken his leg in two parts. He had an operation but sadly suffered an infection that made his leg super inflamed and well... he had an absence (I don't even know if that's the spelling in English and I won't google it to double check, thanks) and I can't delete that image from my mind. He recovered from that but his leg never recovered so they had to amputate it. He is doing great though, doesn't miss it. I miss him, I was the one who was there all day with him since I worked remotely
My half sister and her mom got a 2 for 1 deal on gastric bypass surgery in Mexico…there were armed guards at their hospital rooms and bars on the windows. My sister is now completely messed up…they both got their surgeries, flights and “aftercare” for $1,500. The “deal” just isn’t worth it people!
As someone who is a seasoned vet at having surgeries… so many I actually stopped counting after 25… But this sounds like an absolutely terrifying experience what your half sister/her mom decided to go and do to themselves…! I honestly don’t know why people would even want to pay some dodgy person from your own country, or even worse a dodgy person in a foreign country, to operate on their bodies…
I think Greg used his 'friend' Philip to test the amputation procedure on before undergoing it himself. Greg also probably didn't want to be John's first amputation patient, so he gave him someone to practice on. RIP Philip.
Let's also not forget that the LuLaRoe lady would fly people down to Tijuana to have a shady weight loss procedure done. Crazy medical decisions runs through this family apparently!
Tons of legitimate medical procedures (especially WLS) is done in Mexico because it is so much less expensive. Not to say that situation was. I personally know many people who have gone to Mexico for medical needs due to the bureaucracy of US insurance companies.
Hi Bailey! Will you give us a list of some of your favorite (& what you think to be quintessential) dark history/true crime books?! Sure, they’ll be lacking your amazing comedic timing and storytelling style, but I’d still love me some Bailey book recs!! 🤘
If you're in the US you sure get up late lol (no judgment from me, I can sleep till 5:30pm). And I thought you might live in Aussie but then it would be Tuesdays that are worth getting up for. Please do a MMM on Dr. Harold Shipman from England! He was nicknamed "Doctor Death" and is suspected to have killed up to 250 people.... though I'm sure there's plenty of other evil & dangerous medical professionals to do videos on. An episode on the history of gynecology would be super interesting, too. Thankyou Bailey for everything you do. You are an incredible and empathetic storyteller, your videos always make my day. 🙌🖤 Sending my love from Liverpool, UK. 🇬🇧
At first I was so confused when I read this because I’ve heard of Dr. Death from the US who never was certified as a doctor and disfigured and maimed many people and moved around and still kept getting hired
This makes me think of a Criminal Minds episode where a “doctor” experiments in his garage removing people’s legs. I’m 100% sure this was the origin of that episode.
I literally went grocery shopping while listening to this and it was so relaxing and helped me focus. Also, towards the end, I was making funny faces in reaction to the video, lol some old man looked at me. Haha maybe he thought I was making it at him 🤣
I feel like Bailey is finding the joy back in this! I hope she is! I know it can get heavy and life is busy enough. ❤ I love seeing her spark in her eyes again
4:27 John wasn’t managing that; his wives were. He didn’t have his hands full, he was laying back letting women do all the work + waiting on him hand and foot like every other Mormon man with 10 kids
You are so absolutely drop dead gorgeous, I cannot get over it. This makeup look was especially phenomenal, this story was especially horrifying. Thank you for all that you do, we appreciate you.
As someone who is transgender, And has also had surgical procedures in connection to being trans; this is absolutely terrifying. I mean any invasive surgery without proper sanitation or numbing agents is going to be painful and not a fun experience to say the least. But to know that someone was preying on people who were incredibly vulnerable to the harm he was causing and on parts of the body that are sensitive and intimate, it’s just horrific. Especially this being so personal to me, I guess.
It was normal at times to not use any numbing agents etc. Doctor's actually used to operate on babies without it until the 1980s i think.. I was a premie baby so doce thought i needed a shunt in my head. And my dad just was like no yall aint touchin my baby without any medicine to numb etc. I remember googling it. Anyways i totally agree that it does sound horrible and scary.
Its so scary to me, I couldn’t imagine. I couldn’t imagine finally getting this live saving procedure, have all these hope and feel like things are finally gonna be okay and just…have that experience. It’s terrifying.
@patriciarhymer6929 I had a preemie 6 years ago and they still don't use numbing agents for babies, especially preemies. They don't process a lot of medications the same way and the significantly smaller size makes dosing extremely difficult. Plus preemies typically have premature organs.
@@Meatbonezzit happens all the time even when the surgery is performed legally. There are often terrible complications and psychological fallout. Its not a “life saving procedure”.
As a mother of 4 I had a complete mommy makeover. BUT I did 2 years of research before I chose my doctor and she was wonderful. I couldn't imagine what John's patients went through. I feel so bad for them.
John is the definition of Unbothered. Throwing an amputated leg is like something out of a movie. And then he calmly walks out of the police department 😂
My husband woke up during his tonsillectomy. He is 6 ft 4 in and 275 lbs. He had never had surgery before, and they miscalculated how much anesthesia he would need. They literally said "Oops" and put him back to sleep.
@@memyselfi2005 I"m extremely resistant to anaesthesia, and have woken up during every surgery I've ever had! Everyone has a different tolerance to the medications, and there's no way to really know unless you've been under anaesthesia before.
Lol I woke up during wisdom teeth removal and let them know my pulse oximeter fell off on my finger ☝️😅 I have no clue if it actually did fall off or if I was just talking nonsense but I remember that happening and then they cranked the inhalent up a bit and I went back under
AWEHHHH you even threw in a snippet of the theme song 🥹 she loves us guys, she really does. That was so thoughtful considering that we no longer do the theme song. WE LOVE YOU BAILEY!!! ❤❤
@@lisaforbes7325 Some time ago she took a break from MMM for a while due to a rough patch. Upon returning, she wanted to sort of start anew and get back to what she personally wanted for the series, so she decided to cut the theme song in order to like mark this change. But people keep asking and asking for it to come back.
Totally have done this too many times to count….only recently read an artical that explained that your average superglue is actually toxic and supper bad for open wounds- turns out the stuff they use in emergency first aid and like in the ER, has a completely different chemical makeup. So I immediately went and got some online. Just in case…lol
So when I was first listening I had some respect for this Dr who after a death scare in surgery he went back to school to prevent anything like that happening again. Then as the story progressed that was of course lost and replaced with abject horror.

How you know if you have a great friend
If they send you to a doctor who comes out with food stains and eating raw hotdogs

That's pretty crazy.
This got wilder and wilder
You have an awesome username :)

Wow!! 👀
RIGHT!
If it can be fixed, sometimes it can't be or if so then it's in a way no one wants to live.
I livein Scotland & people from the UK travel in their thousands to Turkey each year for all kinds of procedures as its cheaper. However the majority have no issues & get great work & looked after. Cheap can be goof to, its doing your research that matters, not the cost.
Unfortunately given what I’ve heard about ghost doctors sometimes trying to pay top dollar gets you too.

It's abcess. No need to Google it now, you're welcome. Kind regards, a popaholic 😮
As someone who is a seasoned vet at having surgeries… so many I actually stopped counting after 25…
But this sounds like an absolutely terrifying experience what your half sister/her mom decided to go and do to themselves…!
I honestly don’t know why people would even want to pay some dodgy person from your own country, or even worse a dodgy person in a foreign country, to operate on their bodies…
Oh no. Massive red flag!

So, yeah - Mexican prescriptions are the bomb though, or should I say La Bomba! But surgeries, no....

Thanks for the warning! I’m glad I was reading the comments.
It was normal at times to not use any numbing agents etc.
Doctor's actually used to operate on babies without it until the 1980s i think..

@patriciarhymer6929 I had a preemie 6 years ago and they still don't use numbing agents for babies, especially preemies. They don't process a lot of medications the same way and the significantly smaller size makes dosing extremely difficult. Plus preemies typically have premature organs.
