A few years back I did my second visit to this cemetery. My daughter and her family were with us, their two young teenage daughters went round the graves in the light rain that was falling. Many of those buried here were just a little bit older than the girls. I think the visit left a mark on the girls.
Thank you for sharing these videos with us. I have watched all of your second world war videos. It is heartwarming to see a man with such devotion to history and the way you present and describe and give background is a fine addition. Keep up the admirable work
On the opposite side is a cemetery with a number of UK servicemen. Try to go down to Oosterbeek at least twice a year. The graves to the left and right of the Cross of Sacrifice are from the crossing of the Rhine.
The Dreyenseweg 0:14 - 1:05 used to be so beautiful till they chopped down the very high trees. My favorite 'aunt' is burried at the other side of the War Cemetery. My first visit (as a toddler) to Oosterbeek was in 1960. And I fell in love...
Yeah, that's tough to get over. All the headlines, all the newsprint, and here, wether you like it or not, is the price of Glory. Somber, peaceful, Noble. Ahhh, Devotion.
I remember going around this cemetery and another close by in 2012. I was 24 at the time, and most people buried there were younger than me at the time of death. I gazung at their high ranks at such young ages. It made me feel guilty and lucky to have been born in this era. I remember thinking, what an absolute waste of life. And how young men die for the decisions of old men. And how diplomats aren't very diplomatic.

Beautiful video
god rest their brave souls always
I am a twin and I know this...if both me and my brother had died in battle, my mother would have died upon hearing the news.
