The style of play is just different if he’s in the lineup. It’s fine to have him start but I’d prefer Jota out there to be honest. 3rd in prem behind halaand and isak for goals per minute in the league. His work rate allows Portugal to play more aggressively as well.

As a Moroccan the only real threat we faced against Portugal offensively was when Ronaldo was subbed on and the end result may have been very different if the Portuguese manager wasn’t an idiot and just started him.
the simple fact that is having CR7 on the field causes problems in opposition defenders. Knowing that only needs 1 oportunity to shoot and score adds additional pressure on the defenders. If you watch Portugal games you see that he attracts very often 2-3 players when inside or close of the penalty area. Wich opens up space for teammates

One thing I noticed with Martinez’s approach on attack is that the ball is being distributed much faster than with previous manager’s approach. Before Martinez, the build up was very very slow. If you look at Portugal’s last game vs Ireland it was beautiful to watch. Passing was along the lines and long balls too. That’s what you need to do to win.

Because I saw Portugal games, I can say that Ronaldo is not at the top shape he once was, and his age is definetly showing. There was too many games where Portugal did not perform because of Ronaldo, his innability to run and chase balls for a offensive opportunities; him taking too long to shoot or not shoot at all for wtv reason; him being in the box doing nothing to help the team but waiting for a miracle ball to reach him; and the team over-relying on him trying to get the ball to him instead of using better positioned players. Starting is fine but not starting is not as obsene as the dick riders claim to be; anyway him being there the full game isnt recommended because he just doesn't keep up, and the team is so stacked with talent that they can win without him.
I don't want to see any player in the team from City, Bernardo, Cancelo and Dias only if its a back 3, The midfield should be Paulinha, Vitinha/Neves and Bruno, Leaó and Neto on the Wings and Cr7 uptop, Ronaldo still to this day keeps CBs close to him, that makes a hell of alot space for the 3 behind him, Neto & Leaó will benefit so much from Bruno's passing range and that space that Ronaldo makes for bruno, No joke Bruno could end up the top scorer and POTT if they win, the only team that can stop Portugal are Germany in the Semis, the final England or France, Portugal aren't losing that, Ronaldo, Leaò, Paulinha, Vitinha, Dalot and Bruno are coming off a frustrating Campaign and are looking get make up for that.

Carlos Quiroz. The reason being he’s the one that started the whole youth football movement In Portugal. Before Carlos took over the youth set up it was sloppy at the international level and club. He overhauled everything. Using the latest technologies, stats, setting up proper schools, training facilities. This is why portugal has continued to produce fabulous youth players to go in to be superstars. The clubs followed his blue print that’s why Sporting, Benfica, Porto produce phenomenal players. Portugal has ZERO chances of winning it. Sorry but this is what i think and here's why. 1- Being stacked doesn't mean having a real team. Portugal doesn't have a brand of football. They don't play their eyes closed like France or Spain that have been in a project with decades of consistencey despite players comming and going. England has been nurturing this generation for a few years now and they have improved on their good form. Germany has their way to approach competitions and they play at home. Even Croacia, as we've seen, are a team with over a decade of work and that's why they dominated Portugal on the last friendly eventhough they don't have half the talent. Portugal has a ton of players but this is a new coach. A new philosophy. And to be honest, we have no idea what formation or who will start on multiple positions. This isn't the fabric of a group of guys who will challenge for the win. This is a team that will be much more mature next World Cup without Pepe and CR but 2 more years of coaching and new kids integrating. 2- Portugal doesn't have insane depth. They do have depth and they have no obvious holes like they almost always had in the past. But Leao and Feliz aren't the players people want to make out of them. Leao is a constant and permanent no-show. This reproach exists in Milan and is even more obvious and blatant in the National Team as he always look like a fish out of water. Felix is decent player but he is far from being great. Gonçalo Ramos isn't a top striker. He is OK and much better than the likes of Postiga, Almeida, Eder and so many others. But even then, he is not a reference in his position and i rarely saw a team without a top striker winning it all. The same could be applied to the defense. 3- Portugal has NEVER dealt well with any sort of favouritism. Everytime they get some credit they stank. The only time in recent memory where people were unanimously saying the team was pure garbage and had 0 hopes is when they won it. I don't see much seriousness in the players attitude. A lot of smiles, dancing around, wearing cool sun glasses and drip. That is not the team profile i would be my chips on. Because I saw Portugal games, I can say that Ronaldo is not at the top shape he once was, and his age is definetly showing.
There was too many games where Portugal did not perform because of Ronaldo, his innability to run and chase balls for a offensive opportunities; him taking too long to shoot or not shoot at all for wtv reason; him being in the box doing nothing to help the team but waiting for a miracle ball to reach him; and the team over-relying on him trying to get the ball to him instead of using better positioned players.
Starting is fine but not starting is not as obsene as the dick riders claim to be; anyway him being there the full game isnt recommended because he just doesn't keep up, and the team is so stacked with talent that they can win without him.

Carlos Quiroz. The reason being he’s the one that started the whole youth football movement In Portugal. Before Carlos took over the youth set up it was sloppy at the international level
and club. He overhauled everything. Using the latest technologies, stats, setting up proper schools, training facilities. This is why portugal has continued to produce fabulous youth players to go in to be superstars. The clubs followed his blue print that’s why Sporting, Benfica, Porto produce phenomenal players.

Portugal has ZERO chances of winning it. Sorry but this is what i think and here's why.
1- Being stacked doesn't mean having a real team. Portugal doesn't have a brand of football. They don't play their eyes closed like France or Spain that have been in a project with decades of consistencey despite players comming and going. England has been nurturing this generation for a few years now and they have improved on their good form. Germany has their way to approach competitions and they play at home. Even Croacia, as we've seen, are a team with over a decade of work and that's why they dominated Portugal on the last friendly eventhough they don't have half the talent. Portugal has a ton of players but this is a new coach. A new philosophy. And to be honest, we have no idea what formation or who will start on multiple positions. This isn't the fabric of a group of guys who will challenge for the win. This is a team that will be much more mature next World Cup without Pepe and CR but 2 more years of coaching and new kids integrating.
2- Portugal doesn't have insane depth. They do have depth and they have no obvious holes like they almost always had in the past. But Leao and Feliz aren't the players people want to make out of them. Leao is a constant and permanent no-show. This reproach exists in Milan and is even more obvious and blatant in the National Team as he always look like a fish out of water. Felix is decent player but he is far from being great. Gonçalo Ramos isn't a top striker. He is OK and much better than the likes of Postiga, Almeida, Eder and so many others. But even then, he is not a reference in his position and i rarely saw a team without a top striker winning it all. The same could be applied to the defense.
3- Portugal has NEVER dealt well with any sort of favouritism. Everytime they get some credit they stank. The only time in recent memory where people were unanimously saying the team was pure garbage and had 0 hopes is when they won it. I don't see much seriousness in the players attitude. A lot of smiles, dancing around, wearing cool sun glasses and drip. That is not the team profile i would be my chips on.
Portugal will get out of the group because they are too talented not to and then will fall apart when they get to face decent competition. The 2 last real teams they faced were Marroco and Croacia and they lost both. The group qualifiers was about bullying weak teams as they should have done. ZERO real proof of competence has been displayed for years.
England has lost to Hungry twice and recently lost to Iceland they have easy group they don’t perform knockout stages. This weakest England squad when comes to defense they’ll struggle
