I'm a Filipino-American living here in the U.S. and am also a huge NBA fan. A bunch of Filipino-American friends and I have been talking about checking out a PBA game as part of a "boys trip to the Motherland" later this year (or maybe next year). But after reading some of the comments on this thread, I'm gonna suggest that we check out a UAAP Finals game instead. We want to check out whichever one has the better atmosphere--and it sounds like the college finals is the one. Plus--I think it would be cool to see a game with just Filipinos playing. I know there are quite a few Americans w/o any Filipino heritage playing in the PBA. I'm also old enough to remember that former LA Lakers SF Cedric Ceballos played in the PBA; as did former Fullerton State star G/current NBA ref Leon Wood...and former Alabama G Ennis Whatley.
Yes, I think PBA has lost its luster compared to many years ago and UAAP is becoming more exciting today. The rivalry in UAAP is more intense especially among the fans. 😊

You're better off watching the local pro volleyball league. It probably has eclipsed the pba in terms of popularity. Basketball is still tops, of course, but the Philippine volleyball league (pvl) is more engaging to watch because of all the pretty girls.
I like Phoenix Suns, Denver Nuggets, Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets, Chicago Bulls, Washington Wizards, Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers, Charlotte Hornets, Brooklyn Nets, and New York Knicks that were hosted by the LA Clippers and Lakers.

The PBA has certainly become more exciting and impactful since I watched my first live match in 2015!! I think I actually watched Ginebra.
