Felipe Chalreo I thought it was the beginning since last week he had 3 videos doing same thing. This is one and 2 more out there same guest-> ruclips.net/video/bIlzeucrROQ/видео.html
Absolutely agree. As talented as many past and present talk show band leaders were/ are, I think Jon has a lot more depth there than is usually to be found. For some reason he’s always reminded of Wynton Marsalis
Wow. #CorinneBailleyRae I sang your song to my girlfriend when we were dating, like a star. she loved it so much. Now we are married. One of my faveourite songs.
Look at this woman.. she doesn't get old!! 10 years passed since I saw her last time, and she looks gorgeous and her voice is just amazing! 😄😍 May God bless your work and your life and you keep doing a great job!
Corinne is one of the VERY FEW artists in my life that has stopped me dead in my tracks the first time I heard her. - I was sitting in Starbucks, Midtown Manhattan, mid 2000's, with a cup o' joe and my laptop, preparing for a business meeting.. I was so thunderstruck by the music, I waited in line again to ask the cashier to investigate who was playing - Corinne who? Never heard of her, but I went out that very day and bought Corinne's CD. She was simply phenomenal and unique with her jazz-meets-funk-meets-pop ballad style ... totally understated and underrated then and still is. I have really enjoyed the Jon and Corinne collab and hope Late Night will allow Jon to continue these segments in the future
The Yorkshire accent is like a warm fire and hot chocolate on an Autumn day. Corinne has a stunning voice and it's so emotive. She really has a beautiful tone and I'm glad she learnt to love her voice.
@@vaw796 so agree even in 2022. Had to hear her Leeds vowels again. I am glad we don’t have to live in a world where Corinne gave up on music because of her sense of vocal inadequacy. She is wonderful. Love the song “The Skies Will Break”, such a song of hope for a friend going through a hard time.
Even though I know nothing about being a musician, I found their conversation really interesting. It's always satisfying to hear masters talk about their talent.
Two talented professional musicians talking is fascinating - so much more so than a half-prepared entertainment journo interviewing a bored artist who doesn't want to be there.
That thing about touring unrecorded songs - that's essentially what comedians do. They tour an act for a year, and then at the end, they have the live recording for their netflix special, once all the jokes are polished and honed. Musicians should record an album before the tour, and one after.
Thank you. This is a wonderful resource for understanding music and the details that go into its creation and performance. I will be sharing these with my music students.
She is so underrated! I’m glad she’s had such longevity in her career anyway :) I remember when she first blew up with “put your records on” - Her song “Closer” is so good! it gives me eargasms :) :P & Her cover of Bob Marleys “Is this love” is also really beautiful.... she has amazing rhythm. Her voice isn’t the biggest, most powerful sounding voice on the planet... and I love that we have this diversity of sound, and love her voice for what it is. it’s also almost misleading how soft her voice is, because then you might be surprised by her range and musicality. There’s a live version of Closer I’ve heard that was great, she’s singing on top of a big, full live band... So you might think a soft voice wouldn’t necessarily be able to carry on top of all that, granted she was amplified, but she still really killed it. highly recommend 🎶
I love her, I bought her first cd in Trinidad n Tobago🌹 Reminds me of Trini n my father in law, he passed during the Pandemic😔Ports where closed, We're ok now, Pain is easing up😕 Thanks for Sharing 👍
Love hearing Jon talk so candidly & for a moment I thought Jon Batiste and Corinne Bailey Rae were getting a bit flirty ? Jon should have a weekly segment on Colbert.
What happened? I wanted to hear more from these two artists. I love both of them. It’s amazing how she has matured since the first time that I discovered her music, years ago. Baptist is so talented it’s scary.
I really love CBR - Listening to her latest album from 2023. I feel like, she needs to break out of her angelic voice range and really crawl out of her comfort zone to explore and get explosive and funky. She hasn't done it yet, but if she releases something else before 2030, I hope that's the sort of exploration she takes on.
Saw Corinne live with Nora Jones a few years ago and I even got to meet her. Her voice is amazing and she has such a gentle presence. I think she's dope.
@@havefaith4358 She was so so so nice and so was her band. It was a last minute meet and greet. I legit never get excited over meeting celebrities, because to me they're just regular people. But for some reason, I was super nervous to meet her. Lol.
I love Jon's new interview sessions, he simply pays complete attention. What a humble and incredible talent, please keep these segments coming!
Corinne is the only singer who can still make me cry. She touches a part of my heart that has been armored for a long time.
I saw her on the Monique show years ago and just balled
This should be a segment on the show. At least once a week.

@@fonkenful He's a deep dude. Colbert likes music and he really hit it off with Jon. Guy has a saintly aura about him.
I want more Colbert
Every. Fucking. Day.
Love both of their gifts. Wonderful talk. I really enjoy her voice. Nice! ❤️
She writes great songs as well
Wow. #CorinneBailleyRae I sang your song to my girlfriend when we were dating, like a star. she loved it so much. Now we are married. One of my faveourite songs.
I love how deep Jon's questions are, musically.
Jon Batiste is such a treasure. Can't say enough how much I'm enjoying this conversation with the wonderful Corinne Bailey Rae
Im a student of music and that was a great conversation!
Jon Batiste has impeccable vibrations. What a beautiful human being - his family is beautiful too.
Love these discussions on the craft of songwriting from two masters of their profession.
She covered Björk's Venus as a Boy.
She is now immortal.
What a lovely couple of soul friends
Just love them both, such talent.
Holidays, a different pace. Tx Jon & Corinne & team.
This was awesome! More, please...
I love this, more please!
Ahhh...I love everything about this. More please!
Wow CBR. her angelic qualities are not just limited to her voice.
Ugh this is such a nice interview
Billie Holiday via Nirvana? Whoo-eee!!

Thank god for these.. but no need to wait 'till vacation to show them.. this should be a weekly thing
I like Jon Batiste talking music with these guests.
CH2517Joan he’s a little fanboy no? It’s like if I was interviewing her; I’d be pretty excited. First one I’m watching. I’ll watch a couple more.

Jon seems like such a kind, thoughtful person. He also happens to be an amazing musician.
Jon Batiste should interview all of the musical guests! Awesome!!
Well this is certainly a welcome surprise!
Nothing to do with anything: but Jon is so HANDSOME. Sth about him 🤔🤗🔥
Look at this woman.. she doesn't get old!! 10 years passed since I saw her last time, and she looks gorgeous and her voice is just amazing! 😄😍

Love that song, haven’t searched for it in years until now
Her voice is "just like oil on my hands...." ❤ #LoveCorrineBaileyRae
It always takes me by surprise when a Northern, working class English accent pops out of this woman.
Rob Ashton its one of the qualities i love about her, that Yorkshire accent.

Jon's awesome. respect from Australia

Thank you, Late Show team! I'd love to see this on a regular basis.
So calm and natural conversation going on. Jon should definitely carry on doing such segments

Speaking of "mash-ups", how lovely is this one with a New Orleans accent and a Leeds accent?

Stephen's been gone on vacation for a while now. It's cool they get to do this kinda stuff while he's gone.
I love both of them, her gifted voice its amazing and Mr. Batiste seriously needs his own music show to share his awesome talent with the singers😎❤
I am a huge fan of Jon Batiste anyway. To watch him discuss music with Corinne Bailey, who is also such a superb artist is really interesting.
I enjoyed this, it's new and definitely outside the box. Great job john.
But I have to ask, where is Stephen?

Be careful Stephen, you are gonna lose your band leader to his own show.

Beautiful conversation. Really loved this.❤️
Wow! I was expecting Corinne to be from West Virginia, not the West Riding (the sound of home)! Nice to see a Yorkshire girl come good.
