This was always one of my favorites! I just read this one after not having read it in forever, and I really enjoyed it again. It's actually one of the first Goosebumps books my parents got for me. I personally find the mysteriousness of the mirror and the strange effects it has on Max and his friends after staying invisible too long to be pretty scary. I love how that was the main focus for much of the book. As you said, the atmosphere, setting, and focus on details really adds to it, as well. One of the scariest parts for me was when Max suddenly had the urge to look at the mirror all by himself in the middle of the night and having it not end too well.
This book is soooo underrated..it is so good. When i was in 3rd grade i didn't get the ending....now i do and the thought of what happened to the brother is still terrifying to this day.....
100% agreed, Ive read most of the 62 classic series books, though not a lot of the newer stuff. This book was 1 of the 1st Goosebumps books I ever read & to this day its still among my favourites
I highly recommend it, dude! It was really surprisingly eerie! Thank you so much for watching! I'm very thankful you and others are enjoying my reviews. Means the world to me hhahaha. God bless you!
very underrated book with some really creepy/eerie scenes! Easily in my top favorites of the original books. I loved the climax and the frightening images involved too. 5/5!
This one of the first 4 Goosebumps books I ever read, may have my very first but I can't recall for sure. I disctinyl remember loving it so the invisible antics, since I was really into invisible stuff, and hating the evil reflection stuff just because it was not invisible stuff. I was a weird kid i guess lol. I like this one. It's one of the better written ones in terms of small details and build up, it does drag a bit though and it feels not enough action happens, which causes the kind of divisive reactions I see. I really like the twist ending to this one. Also, for once I actually think I perfer the newer cover. It just looks scarier and more urgent compared to the kind of dull shocked kid face on the original cover, I don;t know. I do find it odd that it was reprinted at all, as it was to tie into the film, which has Brent Green from My Best Friend is Invisible, so that should have been reprinted instead.
I really, really enjoyed the book hahah. Such a fun book. I also agree about the small details thing--like with the haircut. Very smart, and I only started getting suspicious about it right before the reveal. Very interestingly executed. Thanks for watching, Pal! God bless you!
I just finished this book, now onto It came from beneath the sink. Not so sure about it so far.... Let’s get invisible was pretty neat, I enjoyed this story. I think it was pretty predictable also. I was able to get right into this book and read through it pretty quick. This was a reread on this one for me, it was great both times. Once as a kid and once as an adult.
