Very underrated player. I don’t think this bloke gets the credit he deserves for the part he played in making Australia the great team they were.

Definitely agree. Taking 200 wickets is a big accomplishment. Also, he was a major part of that 2004 team that Gilly lead to victory in India

Possibly the most underrated Aussie quick ever. He and McGrath together were lethal.

What a humble man and a fantastic fast bowler

Key but underrated member of the Australian attack of McGrath, Gillespie, Lee, Warne. Had his off days when he'd go for plenty and his pitch-map looked painted by a scattergun. But when he was on he could make the ball talk more than McGrath ever could 15kph faster

IMHO one of the most lethal pace bowlers to have played the game. Fiercely competitive and skilled! Australia would not have been half the team they were in the late 90s right through the 2000s without this humble giant !

Had the potential to be one of Australia's great fast bowlers if not for injuries

@24:17 - Question - who was the toughest batsman you ever bowled to?
Gillespie Answer - if I was in Mumbai right now, I would be saying Sachin Tendulkar (LOL...) but if I had to name one, I would say Brian Lara.

Should have worked on a few go to shots earlier in the innings he played and he would have developed into an all rounder.
Such a reliable defence and the bounce he got bowling made him very hard to handle.
