I ordered an MPX lip and it came all sad looking and warped and like it wasn't gonna line up. Let it sit flat for a couple days and mock it up while you gently "force it" (starting at the ends by the wheels) using some heat, then hold it there for a few minuets while it cools and it should (mostly) hold the shape and fit right up
I have this same lip on my brz. Came all warped like yours and everything, but I left it in on the ground in my backyard while I went to class one day with some wood on top and it was fixed when I got home. Since the lip is made of polyurethane it’s a really flexible plastic, so the heat allowed it to return to its original shape. As for the slightly narrow width, mine also felt that way when I was trying to mock it up to the car. From the start, what I ended up doing was pulling the bumper off so I could replace all the self tapping screws with bolts/washers and nylon nuts so I could ensure it would never get ripped off the car by the wind or anything else. That thing is on super sturdy now, with no tape either. Again, since the lip flexible, and the bumper was free to flex also, I was able to put it against the bumper with no issues. Plus letting it go back to its regular shape in the sun helped the width problem too. I’m, personally super picky about details and getting flawless fitment, so the way I mounted it was; I loosely mounted the 2 outside edges of the lip to the bumper to insure it was always centered. Next, having my dad hold the lip flush to the bumper, we made the rest of the holes and threaded the bolts loosely. Then, we set the bumper upright and tightened everything down. To finish it off, we put it back on the car, and almost a year later it still looks like it came that way from factory. Really love how the lip looks on the car, and its a near perfect fit; except for the 2 center supporting parts that a just barely not flush with the bumper. It’s a little more aggressive than the sti front lip with its center pass through design but still has an oem+ look to it. I’ve accidentally slammed it into the ground reversing into my driveway, crossing railroad tracks, and going through intersections with steep dips but it’s hardly even scraped underneath. Paired it with some drambeenie spoiler risers and it became like a new car, and have even got a lot of compliments about the car despite having just 2 simple mods. Best $350 I ever spent.
Made such a difference ✨
We made it look good 😏
Looks so much better ! Y’all keep it up 👌🏼
