4 years after and you're right! market value Sky Rocketed for the Mr2 Spyder!
The Spyder is a heavily underrated chassis for circuit racing. As a proud owner of a more rare ‘05 manual, it’s the best car I’ve ever driven; And I’ve owned more expensive cars like the s2000, and the E36 M3. That, and the fact that it’s k24/6 speed swapped, has full suspension upgrades, + the hardtop. Let’s just say, I will never sell. It’s a unique driving experience.
@@vltruan Totally agree. lucky you have the 05 manual. I have the very first model 1999 all stock with 5 speed 1zz. not fast but totally the most fun to drive and the best handling car I've ever driven. planning to make it as a project this year. most of the people are making fun of the mr2 spyder. but only those who really drove the car realize the real potential and how fun the mr2 spyder is.
Takumi seems to have adjusted quite quickly to the mrs, he drives really well
Love the color. It's almost like the ZZW30 version of the AW11 from Over Rev.
I love your mr s. I'm thinking of getting one myself because all of my friends have miatas and I want something different. Great video 👍
Thanks! Hope the info helps. Let me know if you wanna see anything specifically in a video!
Let us know if you joined the mr-s family!😁
As for shifter, after getting bushings miata nor rx8 come anywhere near close in having a good feel. But overall MRS is dissapointing when its stock but once you spend a little money and love, even ignoring the engine it can easily become one of the best driving cars in your life
Exactly. Snap oversteer is a internet myth started by those that don't know how to drive. It's driver error. Shit I've been driving aw11's for 26 years and I still stuff up now and then. hahahaha
I think it’s more in relation to the sw20’s as the wheelbase was super short and you would have boost come on mid corner. Still just driver error and not enough throttle control though
Really liked your points noted on the car especially about the throttle you having to stay on it a bit longer if you wanna heel n toe properly defiantly feel ya on that! hopefully soon tho i'm planning to do a K20 swap into mine but still try to prioritize the sprited handling that the MR series has. Liked the review! good stuff.
Go 2zz. Not as much power as the k20 but is an aluminium block as opposed to the heavy k20’s cast iron block. The k20 apparently throws the weight balance out significantly. Depends on what kind of driving you’ll be doing of course
K series is aluminum and way better than 2zz. Lol
Most interesting review i ve seen. Just that intro music. My god 🤐
Dang. Throwback. ;____; 1zz and it was blue still. Ffffs
No Doug will prob make the prices go up 🤣. BTW awesome video, I'm currently looking at a ZZW30.
I like that front splitter....where to get?
what is the name of the front bumper spliters you have on it?
Finally bought my own MR-S :D so stoked!
Is it worth and possible to remove the softop during winter when using the hardtop to gain some extra space behind the seats?
Greetings from germany!
I have deleted my soft top completely in favor of hard top. There is a bit more extra space but taking off and putting back soft top yearly is not worth the effort. I'm in slightly colder climate than you and I found it hard to make use or enjoy convertable lifestyle.
You cannot buy those cars for $3000!! They are going up
miata vs mrs, which is better? because i own a first gen miata rn but i’m looking into other cars at the moment
MR2 has more potential if you'd ask me.
Having driven NB and MRS back to back, MRS has higher potential but it's way more scarier to drive. It feels more alive and more responsive tho. Miata feels safe and doing a gentle backroad cruise you don't have this nagging thought at the back of your head that goes "If I fluke this corner this car will be totalled"
