Would love one on how to introduce a lightwell into a basement, especially for northern climates where a lot of us get minimal winter sun and have fully finished basements that get a lot of use.

Very thorough explanation. Thank you. I’m curious how pendant lighting hung on the same ceiling as the skylight is in would be managed.

On a flat roof, is a skylight facing all directions at the same time?
Have you came across a project with skylight that imitates the lights in antelope canyon?

One important thing to remember when detailing skylight installation, care must be taken during design and construction of skylights so they don’t leak when it rains. Skylights can be a real problem if not installed and flashed properly to keep rain out.

I love the light for daytime. But some of these seem to preclude a pitchdark bedroom for better sleep. How to address?

From my experience black out blinds work great for choosing the exact amount of light you desire at any given time when the sun is up. Some come with an integrated diffusing shade for a more ambient light

Good video. From experience, a skylight in a bedroom, makes it hard to sleep in.

Why? We have historically slept under the stars until recently, so this is surprising.
