I’ll be in Malaysia soon. And I have no idea where to shop and eat. 😂. This is very good tour guide for me. Thanks for sharing.
This feels like a POV that I am IN this vacation.
Thanks for taking us on your journey to Penang!
TYSM💕 My pleasure!
Your vlog has inspired me to go on a solo trip to Penang! Tks
Hello from Penang!! So happy to see you in my hometown. You actually went to the wrong Cendol store.😂 The real "Penang Road Cendol" is near Komtar and there is actually a better cendol at New World Park that not many tourists know.😉
🙆🏻♀️ Ooooo thanks for the reco!!! Love local recommendations, wish I knew it before going 😭 I actually intentionally avoided going to the “real” Penang road cendol haha. Went with this based on google reviews!
Can check out Laksalicious also....
So glad to chance upon your channel while doing my planning on Penang! It sure gives me a visual recce on some of the places! Thanks!
Have a fantastic trip in Penang!
This was so good. I was salivating over all the delicious food, especially the Assam laksa. Now Im so inspired to travel to Penang for a solo trip. The hotel looks so nice. Thanks for sharing all your tips. It was lovely to watch.
Thank you!! Penang is actually great for a solo trip! Would recommend going on weekdays if you don’t like crowds
@@yuldaze definitely. Will consider heading there during the week. Thanks for the tip
This is a 5-star hotel , in the middle of Penang Road is no kidding .
@@ssrae-2229It looks a bit like a 3 star though.
I am happy you are always supporting the local coffee shops and staying away from Starbuck's.
Perfect timing! I’m also heading to penang v soon :) thanks for the recommendations
Yay you’ll have fun in Penang!!!
Glad you enjoyed staying in penang for a mental getaway!
We enjoyed too watching you 🥰💗

Wah! Solo trip! So nice! Penang is our all time favourite! salivating on all the food leh.
Congrats to your new role! Am starting my new role soon too!
Ooh congrats on your new role too, all the best!!!💪🏼
I really like your sense of humour and your 大姐大风范 😊 The tea uncle’s test, discovery of kopi-o in your hotel room and the way you 嫌弃 the curtain made me laughed 😂 自娱自乐 👍
Haha thank you for appreciating all my antics and humour!!
Wonderful video, Penang is in my bucket list...
love the zoom in of the soup bowl 😂 hope the penang trip was a good break for you before your new job! ❤
😆😆thank you! It was rejuvenating bc it’s my first flight out of SG this year!✨

TYSM!💖
Going on a solo trip to Penang next week and your video definitely helped. Cheers!
Have fun!🥳
Yey i enjoyed your long vlog ❤
Yay 🙆🏻♀️ TQTQ
Thanks for the video. Edited and filmed very well. Very true review about the China House cafe. I had the same experience and ordered the same cake.
Thank you!💕
You are such a pro with handling the Assam laksa soup. My clumsy hands would have treated the table with some of it 😁Thank you for showing us the beauty of Penang! It is much more interesting than I thought
Hehe thank you! Glad I managed to showcase Penang in a different way
Thanks for doing such a nice video of lone travel. I am a lone traveller myself and really feel the vibe of your travel in this video. So fun, joyful, relax and peaceful plus good food. In fact, your video influence me to plan a trip to Penang next month. haha.
Haha thanks so much! Glad it inspired you to visit Penang on a solo trip too💃🏻
I’ve never been to Penang and thanks for bringing me there! 😂
Heh happy to!
From where u?
finally got the time to watch this whole video lol over the long holidays.
Hahaha thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed it
This is sign for me to plan a solo trip somewhere. Thanks for the relaxing trip new subscriber here

Wow!really enjoyed ur trip vlog❤
Yay! Thank you!💖
This video is so cute thank u ❤
Wonderful video! Ten Yee Tea at 5:17 looks amazing :)
Thank you! Enjoyed Ten Yee v v much!
Your travel vlog is like a warm hug for the wanderer's soul. Your camera work is incredible! Oh, and have you seen the new v4 Bento Bag and the Ikigai Backpack from NomadLane? They're making waves in the travel community and might be worth checking out.
Aww thank you, that’s such a nice description of the vlog heh
Hey Yul, that's not carrot cake but rice cake. carrot cake is another type of cake in Pg which is very very rare these days. it can be typically found in the stall that's selling kueh
Ohhh!!! Thanks so much for enlightening me! No wonder the texture was a bit different from SG fried carrot cake!
nice trip!
My most favorvorite dishes that pan fried oysters and turnip cake! @11.20
Wow you really went to all the hipster place in Penang, some are places that I saw sg influencers visited! And that curtain of the hotel, really spoil the whole vibe looking interior of the room 😅 hahaha
Right?? The curtains!! Wahaha I didn’t know I visited all the hipster places! Gmap works I guess 😆
Wow …. U really know where to go👍🏻😊
Heh thanks!
Wait a minute, I also went to Penang as well. Too bad you missed out the Penang Hill. The Tan Jetty was very scary for me due to crows yet windy. I got Gold decks from Chew Jetty as well. I also went to that place at 17:00 and Gurney Paragon as well. What you didn't know about Gurney Paragon was that the elevators there resemble a lot like HDB lifts.
Haha interesting! I actually visited Penang hill years ago so I skipped it on purpose heh
I see. My family has been travelling and never done that. Doh!! :)
The french onion soup at 2 Frenchies are nice as the owner is a French-Malaysian mixed husband and wife.
Ooh no wonder it tasted as good as what I had in Paris!
Welcome to Penang!!!
🙆🏻♀️💕
Nice! I think you're a pretty seasoned traveller and also have an adventurous and open mind with some help from Google. Of course Google reviews can be hit and miss regardless of the star ratings. A very well made video which makes me wanna go out and explore Penang!
Thanks much!🫶🏼
thanks this is helpful i going next month
Noice, have fun in Penang!
hope your new job goes well for u! I also just accepted an offer. I signed last week and the very night book airticket to Guangzhou before I start new job! HAHA why we all think the same hehe.
Congrats!! Man I wish I had more time to go somewhere further haha! Enjoy your trip 🙂
Walao dam good vlog sia
TQTQ
very pleasant and imformative video indeed. Bgm and those places that u visited wise, as an INTP i approved xD
Haha! Thank you!! Some of the places were really introverts’ haven
Hello....awesome video of a weekend getaway in Penang.
Highly recommend that you do a similar 3D2N vid of Ipoh, the exquisite town with the best food in Malaysia. There're direct SCOOT flights fr SG to Ipoh. Looking forward to seeing your vid of beautiful Ipoh .
Would love love love to go to Ipoh too!! Hope I could do a solo there next year heh
Can you recommend good restaurants in Ipoh that has local food? I will be there in a couple of months.
My hometown!!! Glad you like the penang charkoayteow, my all time fav!!! u didnt try nasi kandar though, never mind, just go again!!!
Thought of you when I picked Penang haha! Another viewer mentioned nasi kandar also!!! Will try it the next time I’m there 🥲
I am now in Papua New Guinea for work. Will head to Penang mid Nov (1 week) and also mid Dec again (2 weeks) to clear leave lol
Penang is safe
Never heard any tourist getting mugged in the alleys
Malaysia is ranked third in Asia for safety after Japan and Singapore
Enjoy your stay
Never take safety for granted, especially as a female solo traveler 😉
Why you so cute? 😅 I burst out LAUGHING when you say that the tea uncle throw you a surprise test qns and luckily you are a good student listening intently during class.. 🤣 But I wonder whether the uncle will look unhappy if you wasn't a good student.. 🤔
🤣🤣 I think tea uncle won’t let me brew my own tea until I answer his test qns correctly HAHA
think the famous dau sar piah from penang is him heang 😂 but could be subjective! also, if you do drop by malacca, try the dau sar piah from Au soon confectionery!! it’s good :) really enjoyed the lengthy vlog!!
Alamak hahaha I just depended on Google and Ghee Hiang was crazy well rated. The original TSP was really not bad tho. Thanks for the reco!🙆🏻♀️
@@yuldaze Ok actually the top 2 Penang TSP are Ghee Hiang & Him Heang 🤣 so I don’t think you missed out 😆
I personally preferred him heang
Nice travel vlogs in Penang here. 😊👍
Thanks much!🙆🏻♀️
Tq for sharing
Yul Daze : on your next trip , do try the Sin Boon Kee Concept Store {restaurant} .. their Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng and their Signature Coffee are both fantastic, there are only 2 NEWLY Opened restaurants on Penang island , the 3rd outlet is in Bukit Mertajam, Bandar Perda on mainland Penang. These NEW restaurants are similar to Oldtown White Coffee : Yes, I love this Sin Boon Kee coffee , as good as OTWC . Cheers ~...~
Omg I wanted to drop by the concept store but it was quite a distance from my hotel so I gave up 😭 would love to drink their coffee there
Love the vlog, planning to visit Malaysia! May I know if you're using stabilizer/tripod for your phone?
Thank you, only use a small phone stand
❤️🇲🇾❣️
Simple getaway really hard to come by
Truly! Also, whao your username 🤣 do I know you 😂

Awesome, have a blast in Penang!🥳
Im going to Penang next week and this helps! 🥹 Btw what camera are you using for your vlog? The quality is good!
Awesome! Using iPhone 15 pro max
Penang still can attract tourists despite the passage of time.
Georgetown, a UNESCO world heritage site, is prolly the main draw!
Hope you enjoyed your solo trip without husband & MIL! Hope the food was comparable to Singapore. Congratulations on your new job!
Thank you! Enjoyed the trip so very much hehe
bruh that time i went to two fenchies they also initially gave us that exact little table that you were at!!! thot it will b troublesome to eat sia cos not say we jus drinking coffee so asked em to move us to a proper table
HAHA the coincidence. The waiter told there were only low tables left bc it was a Sunday evening!
Is this trip really a break if you’re filming? 😂, can imagine the pain through the screen! But lovely videos, jia you!! ❤❤❤
Wahaha filming actually second nature to me alr but the editing was xiong 😂 TQTQ 💕
Omg, I think I'll be getting Assam Laksa for tmr's lunch after watching you eat! 😂
Hehehe
Was excited when I saw that you tried the tiramisu cake from China House but wa the cake was nice thou to the point i would go back Penang to try. I guess the older one is, the less sweet stuff they can take xD HAHA (dont cancel me pls)
LOL taste is subjective la but tiramisu is my actually favourite western dessert. I’ve had way better ones in SG! Try Nesuto or even Tiramisu Hero 😉
@@yuldaze thanks! honestly after watching your video, i can say that your recommendations can be trusted HAHAH! so picky eh!
👍👍👍👍
The prices are reasonable. The prices in America has gone insane due to inflation. A haircut will cost $30 US dollar~$40 SGD~$140 in Malaysian currency. INSANE!
I really enjoyed watching your travel vlog. Just subscribe.😬
Thanks for the sub!🫰🏼
Wow long video!! thank you for working extra hard during your trip to show us the good stuff and tagging everything so lazy people like me can instant use lol ! OMG the prawn noodles and assam laksa 我想了都要疯了 我超爱吃! also Penang seems very quiet, is that the real situation or just that the places you went to are quiet?
Wahaha most welcome! But if you’re there for the first time there are prolly other things to do outside Georgetown too. My itin is rather compact. And yeah, Penang was really that peaceful! Only crowded at touristy spots! Was telling the husband I would love to retire there hahaha
Actually been there 3 times but it was like 8 years ago so wondering if anything has changed! i think you can consider investing in a unit near the sea there, i seen videos of singaporeans retiring in Penang, really quite relax wor! @@yuldaze
@@ayuodagiri1577 oooo looking at the cost of living in SG, I might seriously consider retiring there sia. Otherwise need to work through my 60s 😭
Who Is Eligible For a Retirement Visa in Malaysia?
To qualify for a retirement visa for Malaysia, you must fulfill the requirements below:
You must be at least 35 years of age.
You must be able to support yourself during your time in Malaysia.
If you are under the age of 50, you must have liquid assets worth a minimum of RM 500,000 (appx. USD 118,500) and an offshore income of at least RM 10,000 (appx. USD 2,370) per month.
If you are over the age of 50, you must have at least RM 350,000 (appx. USD 83,000) in liquid assets and an offshore income of at least RM 10,000 (appx. USD 2,370) per month.
You must have a clean criminal record.@@yuldaze I just went to check! FYI. 😂
@@ayuodagiri1577 HAHAHA so efficient leh. But wah still need monthly offshore income 🥲
of course similar lah . Singapore was part of Malaysia in the past ma
Errr independent since 1965 and my childhood definitely didn’t happen till decades later 😏
Is the bulldogs still at tan jetyy? I went last september, going there again this year, I love the dogs there 😂❤
Don’t recall seeing them😅
Why u dont take dimsum or chill some beers at the canteen? Try it
I have a booked trip to malaysia soon and will definitely check out some place you visited. Thanks for putting them on the description! ♥
Is there another way you can share the eSim? I can't check it in shopee. it's forcing me to create an account :(
Oh maybe try their website here: brightline.com.sg/
After purchasing the eSIM, u can just keep using the same eSIM for future trips by topping up thru the website
Enjoy Malaysia!
hi Yul! may i know whats the brand of the assam laksa shirt? :) thinking of approaching the brand directly to ask if they can ship to sg
Hmm didn’t find any brand on it! Try messaging @thewarung.my on instagram?
My trip to Penang, most enjoyable part was the flight 😭
Oh no, why though??
Wah your hubby let u travel alone. Cool!
He rather save the money 😆
Long vlog but full of tummy packed foods. U certainly have fun in Penang. Now i feel hungry 😢
Ya! 3 days wasn’t enough😆
@yuldaze confirm not enuff la! Should have bought return baggage so just buy a luggage over there and dabao all the goodies back
🤣 wish I could dabao the assam laksa and freeze it sia
@@yuldaze u can if u want. Idea sia. I shall do that when I go at end of the year.
interesting solo trip! am looking to go taiwan alone next year too :) the extra bed not for any +1? haha
Nice, Taiwan is great for solo trip too! Did that few years ago but at the peak of summer🥵 the extra bed for me to roll around only 🤣
@@yuldaze haha thats good to know. u got any itinerary for 5 days to share? thought maybe will have a plus one during your trip there
@@RodeRides ahhh don’t think I have the itin already, I pin places to gmaps🙂
@yuldaze I see haha. Any must-go places in Taipei?
there a record store in penang .. damm, i miss that when i went there ..
Vibes were nice but it wasn’t a huge collection
For Lululemon, Nike etc... do you find the price in Penang is cheaper than Singpaore?
Didn’t see lululemon but Nike was only cheaper bc it was on promo haha
You will get more bang for your SGD in Penang. How I wish it is the other way round.
Pros and cons tho 🥺
like that total spend how much? also gain how much weight from all these fried stuff?
I refuse to weigh 😭 total spend ~$1k !
Nice video of the places you dine at and the hotel you stay 😁but can you show your pretty face when you post a new video in the future?
Haha thanks!!! Keeping identity a secret 😆
Why do you also blur people’s faces also? It’s a public space.
Xiao Mei. If you keep having migraine why not try stop your coffee? Few month back my migraine attack everyday till I went to a&e for help and I was advise to cut or stop coffee now migraine gone.... BTW I was Kopi o kosong lover too 1 day atleast 2-3 cup..
Wah not sure if I can live without it tho 😭 are u drinking green tea as replacement?
Teh o kosong as a replacement..
Wah the longest vlog ever done sia 😆
Hahaha yes!! Thanks for recognizing that 😆
Flooded cabinet 😂😂😂
😮💨😮💨😮💨
Why did you knock on the door before going into your hotel room?
Superstition 😁
Such a short trip !!
IKR 🥲
Actually hor the way u walk 有风 😂
HAHA or is it chor lor??
@@yuldazecat walk 😂
Gmaps didn't recommend nasi kandar eh?
Never leh omg pls share if u know good ones. Might go back end of the year
Hi,your budget flight return ticket how much?
$285
Nice videos, woh u dare to sleep alone at hotel? Very daring 😂😂
Ya haha I was even watching horror movie cuz no other interesting channels 😆
@@yuldaze wohhh im so impressed hahaha 🤣
@@huinitay5201 😆
Gg there on penang Sunday
I am not much of a tea person. More into coffee and Boba milk tea.
Lol. I thot coffee and Panadol dun mix? 😂
Monday vid looks so much nicer. I hate crowds too 😅
Oh it’s actually fine to take paracetamol & coffee together. Panadol extra contains caffeine too! & yes! Monday was so much more peaceful 😆
@@yuldazeThe coffee and tea that you have through out the day may contribute to your headaches. Caffeine constrict blood vessels and so taking meds with caffeine and top it off with more caffeine/coffee is not a good idea. You’ve got to get off the treadmill rut. Is what you do highly paid but very stressful? Hmm.
@@heythave migraine is a neurological condition with all kinds of triggers. Even exposure to sun or reading in dim light can trigger migraine, not just stress or lack of exercise. One can only find their own ways to manage the condition. Paracetamol + caffeine works well for me.
@@yuldaze I know. Many things can cause headaches. Even women who take birth control pills have reported having it. You could say that it’s a process of elimination to find a solution to a problem.
