Gets rattled every week whenever Spurs are brought up but wants to sit there setting the "levels" and "standards" for every other club
Abbi is getting annoying now. That friend who constantly dishes it out but you’re never allowed to banter back. The whole thing on this channel basically is how they can all “cook” each other’s club when they lose, and she happily participates but then when it’s Spurs she’s either “here for vibes” or “doesn’t care”. I think that’s why you’re seeing this reaction around the table. She’s kinda ruining the show for me lately idk if anyone else feels this way

I don't get why football fans set lower standards for their club but for other clubs they set high standards. It should be the other way around. Fans should set higher standards for their club but have lower standards for others. Or is it just to win a narrative war? If that's all that matters then I understand. Is it to avoid responsibility? Spurs fans just want to sit back, laugh at other clubs and when someone puts an ounce of pressure on them, they say we dont care. Thats what is annoying about it all!

@price6080 Spurs Literally finished 4th less than 2 seasons ago. That's why it's seen as a bit of banter. Arsenal hadn't finished top 4 for 4 yrs and had just taken a risk with an inexperienced yet ambitious coach. This is not the same comparison
@@VFtiTAn That's exactly the context you're missing out on, this isn't Spurs from 2 seasons ago. Spurs before this season had coaches who were top level at points in their career and a 30 goal a season striker, now they have a manager who's never been in the league, never managed at this level and playing with a half rebuilt squad. Most people had Spurs 7th-8th at best this year, so for them to be sitting comfortable in 5th and a chance at 4th is more than enough to make Spurs fans happy for this season, it's only because Arsenal are out of Europe and looking like they'll be second again while Chelsea are inconsistently fighting for essentially 7th is why it becomes about "bantering" Spurs for doing better than they expected, it's just deflection.

Nobody was looking at the 'context', they simply said that bottled top 4 Abbi included and even stemmed a lot of her banter from this. The following season, it was clear that the goal for Arsenal was top 4. Instead they played themselves into a title race that they had no business being in, and simply wasn't ready for it. Did anyone ask for 'context' then? No. They were simply labelled 'bottlers' and that was the end of it again Abbi included and again more banter stemmed from this, and that's fine.
Now I don't have a problem with Abbi per se. She's doing a great job and I think a lot of the stuff she does on this channel adds to the entertainment of the shows. She's a Tottenham fan and as Tottenham fan will use those sort of angles to get at Arsenal fans etc. However, it seems when the shoe's on the other foot, the rules change. It's all "false narratives" this and "I won't be drawn into" that.
People like KG and Ex have been cooking people all season but when their time comes to hold their L's, they just hold it, especially KG. Abbi's on DR Sports, it's a fan sports channel but it's a banter channel. The channel is laden with wild takes from youtubers that 'don't age well'. She may not cook to the same degree as Ex and KG, but she's up there and if you're going to cook with that much chest, you can't afford to be introverted or 'play it safe' with your own team ambitions, otherwise you're just being disingenuous.
This situation is the epitome of people who live in glass houses, shouldn't throw stones and let's be honest, Abbi has thrown oh so many stones but doesn't want her house touched. In all honesty, if it really bothers her that much, maybe go with the same energy when cooking that she would like to see with her own team.

Same as you talking about the Arsenal "Bottle" banter, its just disingenuous fake drama and banter to distract from what the other top clubs weren't doing in recent years, however when you talk to general fans they'll generally accept from start of season predictions to end result it's mostly not a bottle just over performing.
However that's what fans in this era of online football have become, banter over substance or brains, people will banter rival clubs with stuff that isn't even true because it's all about that moment to just laugh at another club then dismiss any reality come back because you just want to laugh to distract you from your own clubs issues, same as Arsenal fans are bantering United and Chelsea for being mid-table because it distracts from the 2 years them screaming about it's their time then losing out.

I hate these terms "overachieving and underachieving" in football and the attitude towards it as well. Its as if Villa are not allowed to be in the top four and Spurs are not allowed to be below that. It cheapens the game for me, because I want the PL to be competitive and not see the same teams get top four season after season.
