I have considered this for a slow jigging reel. Ended up going Accurate BVD 500 N SJG 2 speed. I just haven’t heard enough from users yet about the reel will hold up. Hopefully it is a great reel for spj.
Hi Flash, I just purchased the 15 and 60 and everything said here is accurate. Its my first 2 speed reel and as I am getting on in age, the low speed feels great. The only thing I did notice was the fast speed even without line (straight out of box) DOES feel a little "laboured" but OMG, compared to the TLD 's I have able it maybe 9 years old now, it is a breeze. I hazard a guess that the fast speed it just for bringing in an empty rig but heading out is new boat in about 3 weeks off shore so will have more info for you. Cheers
@@darrendwyer9981 Darren, I will be interested in what you find out as you experience the reel. Hopefully it will turn out to be a winner both in price and performance. -- The first fish I caught on my Accurate was about a 20 lb yellowtail. The reel is a dandy for sure. I haven’t had to try the second gear yet. -- Have a great outing. Catch some BIG ONES. 😀 🐟
How would this do when surf casting from the shore? I like the Penn reels like this Fathon and Squall 2 CS, I see they make a CS for this line but they haven't moved the mag knob to a better location yet, even as of today (11/7/ 24) I know people use the 209/309 and Jigmaster for surf casting, that do not have any special brakes or mags besides tension knob, would these series of Fathom none casting special reel still be able to cast 100yds with 3-6oz lead?
Looking at them currently, love Penn reels and actually running out of sizes of reels to get without getting repeats
I love this reel. Caught some Bing Kingmackerel with it off a pier this fall. Can't wait for the spring run.
Penn's New stuff is looking really good!
Just bought one. Can't wait to use it.
let me know how it is man are you liking it so far?
I love my Fathom 25n, the 30 would be a great addition.
Love the fathoms especially the 40 N version
Never fail to give the best and most detailed info
keep the great information coming, thanks
.
Thanks!
I’ve subscribed to you over 2 years ago , love the John Skinner porgy and black fish tackle
It's been on the Penn website for a while and I've had my eye on it. Big Penn fanboy here.

How’s is it casting wise from shore? Torium 30s really popular here for bait casting and Daiwa sha50 in Hawaii. How’s it compare to those?
This guy never answers questions don’t hold you breath buddy

Think it’s strong enough for a blue gill
Strong, badass reel....
It is!
I'm interested in the new fathom 80 II reviews
How this compared to shimano ocea jigger f custom?
When are y’all gonna review an 80 of that model
Looks good, can't wait to try one with that new handle. Kind of perplexed why the new 2nd generation would have a graphite lever...
Ugh I was trying to figure out if it was plastic or not. Surprised they did that too
They wanted it to look more like the Shimano Speed Master 2.
Would the 60nld make for a good chunking/live bait reel for yellowfin tuna?
Do you have then in stock? Going straight to your website
Beautiful reel
Sweet looking reel buying a 15
Good choice!
The 15 and the 15N have two different drags correct?
Nice reel!
Nice looking reel
What is your recommended size for slow pitch?
Nice reel ,how much...
Wonder if they're going to make a single speed reel in the two narrow sizes?
Single speed will come in 10XN, 15, 25N, 30, 40N, and 60N sizes. The 40N and 60N models will be billfish specials.

Lefty coming out in 15XN, 25N, 30, and 40N sizes.

Why not review the whole line in one video?
Used to do that and people like it by model instead. Can focus on one thing that you are interested in.
I’m the first to watch and comment this nice video. Great content
Appreciate it
