Excellent. Had to watch this after your lovely comment on my "Dagnam Deer - The Manor Herd" video. Really enjoyed this. Great to learn about some of the history and hear of your early exploits! Nicely put together. 👍🙂👍

Between the schools and the perch pond is where our football fields were. school sports day here on a sweltering hot day in July 1959. Was nt there a lane that led to South Weald ?

Yes Wrightsbridge Lane. It’s a right turn near to the end of this route. Remnants of it are still there today but it was closed after the m25 was built I think.

Thanks for your video. Lots of good memories of Harold Hill and the manor. I lived opposite central Park on Petersfield Avenue and went to Neave school on Settle road in the 70s. I used to love exploring the old manner and looked up a lot of history in Romford library found a few clay pipes and the old dipping pond was always empty maybe with a small puddle in the middle it’s really good to see how they’ve opened up some of the archaeology like the steps, the part where the stables are was probably the first part I found and coincidentally where I found the clay pipes. My friends and myself would ride up through the woods to the Manor and then along the road down Whitesbridge Lane past the old angel cottages and then up to South Weald. One of my memories was the story of the white lady that would haunt the manor area. That used to make it a little bit more exciting to be there especially at night.
