KFC really reinvented themselve in China as a fancy restaurant, which was done kind of independently because they didn't take as a fast-food restaurant, but selling parts of the chicken that were just thrown away in America (like chicken paws) was profitable enough that they just sort of told the Chinese division "just do whatever you gotta do to make it work." My favorite thing is they made the Colonel Asian. But yeah, KFC has like the polar opposite reputation in east asia.
