- Join me on a nostalgic journey as I pick up a truck that I've been eyeing since childhood. This truck has been sitting in a storage lot, sinking into the ground since 1999. Thanks to Brycen at PRD Design I got the chance to check it out and help him out at the same time.
In this video, I share the story behind this very dry Texas truck, which hasn't moved in over two decades. Winch it on the trailer and get it back to the shop to do the standard deep dive. I hope you enjoy!

Wow, someone has a big project ahead of them. But yeah, what a cool truck.
Neat to see the one year package trucks pop up. Just drug home a decent F100 Explorer Special 2 weeks ago!!
You are living the dream Matt. Love all the sweet bumpside content
Thanks!
Sorry to hear about your friend that hasn't moved since 1999,,He must be pretty stiff,,
Nice to see a 70 in that good of shape! My first truck was a 71 F100. Liked them old ford trucks!! You could work on them without taking everything apart (like the newer ones!) I agree that the camper, for safety sake should be removed and trashed, not much of it left!!
Agreed
A great save, what a great truck!!
Thanks Nigel!
These were popular in their dat.
That's a nice truck for a rebuild, what would be interesting with these old trucks that have been sitting for some time is to find a vintage Colt Python .357mag pistol or a Browning sweet 16 shotgun under the seat in real good condition.
Great Truck Matt, I dreamed of having one of these when I was young.
hey a Case Tractor hood! Sweet
And a blue Freightshaker Columbia.
It looks more like Sky view Blue the harbour Blue
The heavy oxidation sure makes it look that way!
Looks like that sticker says air conditioning on the rear glass. I have a one year only sport custom glove box emblem on my truck
I saw that in editing that it was for the Air conditioning. Couldn't make it out in person for the life of me.
Had to fast forward through the whole thing to see the pointless ending…
Question Matt could you find me a 7.3 Diesel with a 5 speed manual 4x4 transmission and possibly a transfer case and rebuild them for me if so contact me please I want them to go in my 71 Highboy I'll give you the 360 with a manual 4 speed I would like to keep my transfer case that I have if it would work with the five speed if not then I would let you have it as well as a trade in on the other but let me know what it would cost me please as I would have to save up for it mine does not 🚫 smoke runs like a top shifts fine and 4x4 works great I also have a 84 F 250 that has a 351 winser will need a key switch and a head light switch installed on n it the switch gets hot and headlights go out it smokes on start up but after that runs great valve seats needed to stop that but has over 10,000 in parts and labor has a new 11 inch clutch presure plate though out bearing and flywheel less than 300 miles on them new heater core water pump and fan clutch new brakes all the way around decent tires moon aluminum rims I bought for it long wheel base and tailgate bed not rusted out of it glass is all in good shape seat sits low but not tore up tan leather bench brown and tan truck new leaf springs in rear has a camper but it needs work or could go to trash either or if Interested in it i would also though in the mix but i would need help changing out the motor trans and transfer case if not able to use let me know what you think about it or beef up my 71s 360 and keep my original set up I will be adding a lot of weight to the truck as I need power to pull flat bed and home made camper and pulling a trailer behind as well I want to add air-conditioning to it so i will loose power when i do that and add Po steering to it as well to travel in like i said not sure if you are interested in doing anything to my 71 if not do you know anyone that would be interested i do live in Idaho for nor now hope to here from you thanks David
I don’t take on outside projects, but @fordahlbilt just put out a video outlining a 7.3 swap on a highboy.
