I worked in CCU for a bit and saw lots of pacemakers being fitted, patients always recovered really quickly and often went home the same day, the most challenging part was stopping then lifting there arms when they were getting dressed etc but we would give them slings purely as a reminder not to be waving their arms everywhere.
Don't be frightened Georgina, as understandable as it is, I had conscious sedation when I had a stent inserted. Walked into theater absolutely terrified, had the sedation put into my lure and it was fantastic, nothing worried me. They could have come at me with a 10 foot syringe and I would have started giggling. I'll be thinking of you. ❤
The next seven days will pass really quickly and so will the next and the next. In no time you will l forget that you've got a pacemaker fitted & should be so much fitter. 🌺
I understand your worries, Georgina. AND dealing with the logistics of it all. Be sure to have your crochet arsenal ready - I suspect you'll be ready to open a rainbow blanket shop when you're back on your feet.

So good your getting the pacemaker all positive Know it will seem worrying if the defibrillator goes off but how amazing knowing it will save you if ever needed , ok for me to say I know , but it will make you feel safe and give you so much more energy , lots of love to you , and thinking of you , xxx

I had a pacemaker put in when I was 11 and now 42 . You will be fine 👍

Poor little Tilly and her lump 😥 It doesn't sound pleasant bless her. Could you get one of those shopping trolleys to help with the shopping? It must be so worrying for you with the procedure looming. Sending lots of love ❤

I'm on the west coast of Canada. We have Scottish baps in one of our grocery stores. Best of luck with your surgery! My grandma had a pacemaker. It really helped her. She had it for a long time and lived to 87. Sending you good vibes. ❤

Georgina I’ve noticed you’re always always on the go! Breathless I’d be soo anxious yet you over come this and get up and go BUT this time take the 6 weeks and REST! I mean completely rest x
That date really is approaching quickly! But think of it, a few weeks later and you’ll be feeling better than ever and won’t even notice it any more! I can’t imagine the anxiety until the actual day though.
You should be able to sleep on the same side as your pacemaker, but consult your cardiologist just to be sure!
