To be honest I just go through the entire documentation of the stuff that I am working on. It helps me to understand what that library has to offer. I think that's the best way to learn you may also learn entirely new concepts while going through the documentation.

No you don't get ads becuase for using the player controls you need the spotify premium subscription. If you want to try these out you can buy the spotify weekly plan. I just purchased spotify weekly and made this application.
