I feel like he's either the next Erik Karlsson or he's going to be like Tyson Barrie: offensive defenseman that can put up 50-60 points season with a very bad defensive game.
Flames definitely have a top 3 prospect pool defensively. Even on the wing they looks good too. Just need to get a few high end centers and they will look deadly. If they can tank and get McKenna and/or DuPont as well they will be out of the rebuild sooner than people think
@@goldenexp2357 sure but what team has everything? Flames have one of the best defensive prospect pools in the league. Their wingers are good too in Coronato, Pelletier, Gridin, Suniev, and Honzek. It’s not A+ but it’s is solid. Calgary’s issue is their center prospects. Zary looks really good but aside from him they don’t have much else. Honzek can play center maybe. But aside from him their next best is Luke Miss who they just drafted. Pospisil is a bottom 6 center already. That’s where next years draft is huge. There are a ton of great centers. If Calgary can suck and get a top 5 pick then they will address that
@@tornado7205 Tbh we need more shutdown defensive prospects / A star winger prospect and a true 1c prospect If we stop trying to be competitive it will probably take like 3 drafts to get these players
@@goldenexp2357 true. We have Grushnikov and Kuznetsov that are more defensive minded. Plus Weegar is here to stay for a long time as well. Defensive minded guys aren’t hard to come by in free agency either. The top elite offensive guys are much more rare. As for center, I’m sure they would have taken Catton if he was there at 9. But I’m glad they didn’t reach either. Parekh is such good value at 9. We have to play against Hughes and Bouchard a lot and we see how impactful Makar is. To get someone that can actually quarterback a powerplay and score from further out is a huge get. We will be bad next season so we will probably have a top pick at one of the centers. Then in 2026 we have our own pick again PLUS Vegas’ pick. They just lost some good players and their core is pretty old. Who knows what they will be like in two years. It wouldn’t surprise me if they fall off a bit and their pick is in the 10-16 range.
Flames got a superstar! LETS GOOOO
GO FLAMES GO!
Flames stole this guy at 9
Zayne and Hunter is scary......Go Flames!

@@TChockeyThank you so much broski
As good as he is offensively, he is bad defensively. Still has elite scoring potential.
you are right... he is turning the puck a lot but at least the tools are there
