It's time for me to get on our honeymoon. The Maschine + seems really promising in my opinion, so far it's been nothing but a smooth experience. There's been a lot of bashing talk about it, mostly from people who, as we say in Sweden, probably don't know wtf they're talking about and enjoy blowing some negative steam which seems like a universally pathological phenomena when something new is dropping. And some valid concerns and broken hearts because of different needs of course. But truthfully it's been one of the most requested things on the NI wishlist for years for many people so let's find out if it lives up to it's expectations. In this video I'm just taking you with me for our first whirl.

@@BlezzBeats I figured it out now. I got confused as the first time I tried to shut it down I think it had crashed so when I held it down I never got the shut down screen. it just switched off. when I rebooted it I had to log back in. its been fine since.

This is the only function in the events section that I used consistently; but just recently got into actually using events to move around midi notes, to step up my game before the m+ arrives lol

Det är mer en ganska bokstavlig reaktionsvideo på första intrycket och vid det tillfället hade de inte implementerat de funktionerna i i betaversionen jag hade, nu har jag det dock och det kommer fler videos den här veckan där jag går igenom mer såna grejer och snart även en mer fullständig recension. Du har dels Ideas som är ett grundstadie där du bygger upp Scenes som är kombinationer av Patterns, väldigt likt Ableton Lives motsvarighet om du har provat det. Sen finns nu även Songview där du bygger upp hela låtar med klossar som kallas Sections, en Section består av en Scene. De är låsta till Section'ens längd, dvs du kan inte ha ett pattern som överlappar Section 1 och Section 2 t.ex. MEN ett ytterligare lager på det är Clips som kan vara ett Pattern bestående till exempel av en ljudfil i en audio engine eller en hel pattern med midinoter. De kan flyttas runt helt oberoende av längden på en Section och får det att fungera lite mer som en "vanlig daw". Kanske låter komplicerat, men det blir nog det första jag täcker så stay tuned!

You can load files from the SD card if they are placed in the NI folder - they show in browser. What you can't do yet is browse the SD card or an attached storage - that is coming soon.
After the song mode on Jam, the proof of the pudding is in the eating in regards to anything "coming soon".

What do you call the feature when you keeps the pads so that they stay focussed on the instrument so you can still play it while using other windows. I saw it on a tutorial somewhere but cant seem to find it now. I want to sample my hardware synths but I cant play them when the sampler window is open as the pads have switched.
There are a couple ways: the sampler keeps running in the background and wont cancel until you tell it to so if you started sampling and unchecked the sampling button you can go to whatever sound in whichever group you want. You can also set your midi input for a specific sound up under Channel/Input (and like 2 pages to the right something like that). That way no matter where you are the midi input will always trigger your instrument.
So the synths have the same polyphony as on the computer, right? I was kinda disappointed that the synths on the MPC One are limited to 4 voices (learned it from your video). And people wonder why it's so expensive...
Yes its essentially the same plugins running on there! Haha yeah I know man, I used to think "how hard can it be" but its a tough task keeping it optimized, so I'm impressed
You think $700 for in all in one stand alone sampler sequencer is expensive, how much did you expect it to be, $100??!! Lol

My MPC 2000XL back in 2000 cost me $1299 + tax and I thought that was cheap, compared to what people spent in the 80’s & 90’s for samplers, those old machines cost $2000-$5000 and that’s when $5000 was a lot more than what $5000 is now... yet you’re complaining about $700!!! 😯
I remember going to a music store back in 1995 with like $1000 thinking I was gonna get an ASR-10 or SP-1200, till they told me they were about $2500... so I ended up getting turntables instead and became a DJ... then the MPC 2000XL came out for only $1300 5 years later and I picked one up!

You mean to tell me that you only get 4 voices on the mpc one? I have a Roland JD XI synth/drum machine, and it has 24 voice polyphony. That is nowhere near enough, unless the sounds are really nice and full sounds. It's crazy what you can do with the Roland JD XI, the only thing is that it doesn't have tons of different sounds, and the menu diving is a little much, especially for those who are not willing to get deep with their hardware machines, but I am willing to go very deep into these hardware machines, deeper than alot of people, and I am telling people this, because I'm making stuff on a 500 dollar synth/drum machine, that people can't even make on these machines that have thousands of sounds, and have way more capabilities than the Roland JD XI. I got alot of music coming for y'all. I'm getting my craft together and organized right now before I just release it. More is on the way...SBN

The Maschine workflow is already quick as it is for Maschine users so theirs no need to throw us a learning curve and messing up our muscle memory by adding touch screens. sh!t if anything, Bluetooth and some more input ports would of been nice but I like it just as it is. I already pre-ordered mine. I can't wait to finally ditch the laptop lol

Yeah honestly I never needed a touchscreen, I just think its a minor annoyance if theres nothing real to grab. Mpcs do a good job of balancing it where for example you can press something on the screen and the q-link knobs get set to the right area so you won't have to. And its nowhere near as precise and responsive as any modern phone so its like meh. Maschine has enough knobs and buttons to get the job done without a touchscreen, where the F-buttons (the white ones), the jogwheel and the knobs complement eachother beautifully.
Experi Metalfan pretty much. They don’t like that theirs no touchscreen, not enough audio ports, and of course the price. And I get it, all that is understandable. However, it’s fine as it is.
Yeah. When the MPC Live and X were released so many people were complaining about the touch screens. They were all yelling that a true MPC had buttons and they hated the touchscreens. Hating for the sake of hating.

Not sure what the exact limit is and it also depends on which/how many effects you're adding etc but I've done like 20 audio tracks without a issue. Length is a non issue.

So wait! You can not stream samples from sad card? You can not load in your own samples? It do not have a build in battery and no touchscreen and it’s much more expensive as the mpc live? I am wondering what are they thinking 🤔? But the chord mode is much better then on the mpc live right? Thx for the review.
You can load your own samples, streaming from the SD card is not necessary with 4 gb ram (i loaded up 30 beats in wav format to try a liveset config out). Can't say the chord mode is better as is but i prefer the workflow structure and the dedicated surface controls leaves no desire for a touchscreen.
great video. Maschine+ seems pretty dope. Something I'd love to see from Akai is more intuitive chord progressions, as that's where I start to set the mood of the track. And the integration with Native Instrument plugins seems so expansive. For now, I'll see more of what the MPC One can do, but Maschine+ seems to have it going on.

Hey Blezzy, what's up man. I wish I had the money for one of these bad boys, but I am working with the Electribe 2 and Roland JD XI right now, and I'm about to start uploading way more music. I have a dirty version of something right now that I made from the Roland JD XI alone, on the channel here, if you want to take a listen, it's called "The SBN Lifestyle - Roland JD XI - I had to do it slow...I do love the JD XI, and it's done me right, but it's been time for me to get some better sounds, and a little wider of a variety of selections, but anyway, thanks for the video. @@BlezzBeats Make me more and more think about the cooling system or lack of cpu power. Even an Macbook pro i7 has its limitations with maschine sw together with instruments/ plugins.- That will be the reason massive-x is not part of maschine+. So maschine+ really should be used just with samples (not using instruments plugins) like in the octatrack architecture.
When you add your Native ID upon registration, will you then be able to add all your Komplete instruments on the Maschine+? Like will you be able to put Absynth or MasiveX on it after you register it?
Nope! Only the supported ones, the support will probably expand though

Great review, man. :) Initially I wasn't impressed but it seems pretty decent. Still would be great if it was priced the same as the MPC Live. And an FYI to all "no battery!" people-- the Krisdonia (check Amazon) is only like $100... it works for the MPC One (which draws more power than Maschine+) and will work perfectly for the Maschine+ according to the power specs clearly seen. There is hope. Cool stuff!

Are you sure the MPC One draws more power? Because the One is basically the same as the Live. Someone sent me a comment saying it would be inpossible for NI to implement a battery due to the power consumption of the M+. I don't want to sound all negative but the M+ doesn't make sense to me. If you have a Maschine controller that is powered through your laptop, you are free to take these two things anywhere (depends a bit on the laptop of course). It's not "standalone" but it's (kind of) portable. The M+ you'd have to save and switch off and boot up again to do the same, or you use it with a battery pack but then it becomes about as "portable" as a controller with a laptop...
@@LousyFacelift Yeah you can see the voltage on the back of the Maschine+. It's less than the requirements of the One. I would agree that M+ doesn't make much sense, indeed. Totally agree with everything about the MK3/laptop combo. It just makes more sense, overall.

I have not seen anyone address how easy it is to transfer and then access/browse custom user content. cheers. Do we have to follow a specific file/directory structure or naming?
The directory structure is pretty much the same as your computer, You have to drop your file in a User Content folder in which the subfolder dictates what category it shows up as in the browser.
Does the komplete kontrol scale modes work for mapping scales to the white keys? Enjoyed the video!

Theres one fan inside of it and thats me. Lmao jsk, no fan and not really any vents neither but I've been using it for 8 hours now and I can't feel any heat whatsoever. Like the mpc one gets hot af after 15 minutes or so, I hope it's not that the heat is just so well isolated in there 🤷🏻♂️

Yeah if you're comparing MPCs and Maschine I think you have to look beyond price and standalone/not and the workflow of them, its too simplified to put them side by side and judge on that. Depends completely on what you need and prefer. I prefer Maschine alot over the MPCs, and if standalone is not important I'd get the mk3 but thats just me.
Woow M+ haha how it feels, does encoders have better quality build from MK3 loose knobs....and we all interested in CPU handling Al those Sounds
Much better quality from the get go but I'll see when it loosens up. I never had any problems with my mk3 but I heard some people got flimsy knobs on them and skipping values like on the mk1. Will do a vid pushing it to the limit too.
Mines are not flimsy at all on my 2017 MK3 but I get jumps on the values sometimes.
I wonder if the new knobs will be available to buy for the mk3

Which sampling algorithm do you think is better M+ or MPC Live?
Theres really no telling them apart, the timestretching algorithm is lightyears ahead on M+ tho
@@BlezzBeats The reason I'm asking is because I own an MC 707 and I'm looking for a good companion sampler to pair with it. Both M+ and MPC would fix some of the 707's weakness, biggest one being the limited sample time. I love the maschine workflow and I don't need a touch screen. The MPC hits the check marks but I didn;t find the workflow fun. My biggest fear is it will be 2-4 years before M+ is optimized. Ni tends to be a little slow on updates.
Yeah its all about that flow man. Amen to that one of the slowest on the planet probably lol. I'm happy with it as it is right now though, wouldn't really NEED any updates (unless I run into some spooky bugs). Any new feature since they added support for plugins has always been a bonus for me. But it all falls back on what you need
Yo, blezz what up. I just downgraded from the MPC X ( had problems for a year got it replaced from Thoman) and mpc live 2 is on the way in your opinion. Should I cancel the mpc for the NI plus. I all ready have the MK3 standard.

Personally I think I'll stick with mpc live order. The new maschine doesn't wow me and very expensive. Also seems like stand alone with plugins seems to be very taxing on the cpu.

Hahah yeeah its pretty incredible.. so far im having a hard time being nice to the mpc, it really blows it out of the water for me. You can nitpick all the features it has or doesnt have forever, the workflow (and the plugins...in the goddamn box..) is the future right now
