- We've just finished our road trip around Cambodia, crossed the Lao - Cambodia border and taken the ferry to our first stop in Laos, Don Det and the 4000 Islands. This absolute gem of South Laos is a popular tourist hotspot located in the heart of the Mekong, but the past couple of years have been hard in Laos with the borders closed. Come and re-visit Don Det with us and let's see, what is it like now?

I'm glad to see you guys back in Laos! My family used to live in Khong Island, Laos. You have done a great job posting the beautiful Laos!
Don Det is one of the best places I've ever been to.
Really why?
Back to Don Det after 4 years… it must have brought back many memories. I think despite having seen many videos made about Laos, yours are the most realistic representation of Laos. You can see how the local people are and how they live. You can see the still unspoiled nature of the region. Looking forward to watching more of your vlogs. ❤
Thanks so much 🙂
Welcome back to Laos..it seems like you are mostly in Laos. Happy to see your videos in Laos. 3yrs? Didn't seem that long
Ahh man, great vibes. Made my day
Laos is best place in the world no war no conflicts
Nice to see you guys back in laos. Enjoy your stay. Love to go there look like peaceful and quiet place to enjoy.
Hope the calf is okay guys♥️ I see how much you care, so wonderful of you all♥️ great to see Don Det and you guys back in Laos😘 thank you for a great video.
Love your Laos stuff!
If you manage to get around that Boten area it would be quite an interesting watch from a Vlogger point of view as opposed to the documentaries you see, stay safe!
"Sadness smiles", hahahahahahaha 🤪😜😝
So good to be back in laos. I'm excited to see more videos of you exploring laos.
Hello Oli and Chris. Happy New Year.
Happy new year 🎊
Thanks guys, good that you shown the buffalo, it's sad but that's the reality. This place looks awesome
The Lao guy was waiting for them to leave so he can chop it up and have bbq later.

Japan sounds awesome 👍
Welcome to Laos
🙏 happy to be here
i love laos laos so nice and good peoples too
Wow! My dad's hometown when he was alive was Don Det. I have never been there but my mom has. I was born in Vientiane, Laos near Thalat Nong Duang where my mom is from. The roads over 40 years ago, I'm sure, were much different then. One day I'll have to visit this place. Hopefully my dad's relatives are still alive. Definitely going to show my mom this. We have been living in the U.S. for almost 43 years now. I've been checking RUclipsrs in Laos and surprised even the rural areas have internet. Again, thanks for sharing this experience with us all to see. 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for watching! Glad we could take you there 🙌
@Travels on Toast You're welcome. Litda said that you guys were going to see her yesterday when I spoke with her. You all seem to have fun and enjoy each other's company. You have definitely traveled far distances on some bumpy roads together, that's for sure. Keep recording so that I can vicariously enjoy Laos with you all. I have been away for far too long and have forgotten much about my homeland. I'll eagerly await for another new video to come out. 😁 Have a good day. Or, should I say good night? I know there's a big time difference.
Did any of the locals know or tell you about the young buffalo? Is it normal to leave it there with no water or food maybe milk ? I wouldn’t of been able to just walk away unless I was sure it wasn’t suffering and dying in pain ect.
👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏😎
So SO happy you are back in Laos!!! Your best videos are in Laos!
Glad you like them 🙂
Cool area
My wife and I so love your very informative videos and just keep them coming through to the wicket keeper.

Love to see you guys back in 🇱🇦 Laos
Ba Na is a nice spot in Northern Laos, near meung noi. Pre-pandemic, you could stay in a bungalow in a village. Epic village treks all around.
Thanks for the suggestion 🙂
@@TravelsonToast Sure thing also...you might consider crossing the border to Yunnan China. Southern end is similar culturally to Laos. North is more like Tibet.
Sabaidee
Sabaidee!
Many tourists visit Thailand and Vietnam. Seldom Laos. I believe soon there will be more tourists.

We keep talking about returning to Don Det for another month. Tough life for a buffalo though. Keep making great videos.
It's hard to leave that place! Hope your travels around Laos are going well 🙂
What's the best way to get there? I heard it's awesome. I think it takes 8 hours to get there from the capitol?
The closest city is Pakse, you can fly, drive or take a bus there. Then in Pakse you can take a mini van or bus to the ferry, I think some bus companies can organise the whole transfer for you including the boat too.
Do they hv Crocodile in the water?

From a Patreon supporter: I would love for you to video a --- "WHAT IS THE THAKECK LOOP TRIP NOW?" --- three years later. Your favorite chill Sawasdee Guesthouse is now getting 20-25 stoner backpackers a night with a campfire including MANY motorbike travelers. You may have already blown north through this area, but if not --- how about a BEFORE and RIGHT NOW video, like you did so well with Don Det?
We will be revisiting the thakhek loop 🙂
@@TravelsonToast Yes! Thakeck Loop 2023!!! Come on Patreon cheap-sakes, somebody buy these most awesome stoner vloggers in SE Asia --- a new motorbike ASAP. Olivia sighed, "We could use a whole new bike" back in Don Det. Take her hint! Put a crowbar in your wallet and get a life --- BOOM!
Hey when exactly where you at the Don Det? 😃 I am here now and prices are totally diffrent so I am curious 😊
Only a couple months ago
Different how??
I’m disappointed and sad 😢 that you guys didn’t help the poor helpless animal 😢. At least give it food and water 😢
สวัสดีครับทั้งสองท่านมาเที้ยวลาวเป็นไงบ้าง
Seems like you guys stuck in Laos forever. May I ask, what are you nationality? Thanks.
We're not stuck, we chose to be here :) Lithuania and UK
@@TravelsonToast I wish I was there too.
I would've sent money to you guys to get that Buffalo taken care of.
Ain't u guys Lao citizen, yet? 555555
You should not show Ganja on camera, it is illegal in Laos!
You can get Yourself as well as the seller / area in trouble!
Sabsidee
Next time u go. Dondet and u see something u no understand
Just ask local people
Mister wat from and jungle bar
A funny fellow speak perfect english
Can tell u all about 4000 island
Бросили умирать бэби баффало
Everybody thinks they would do something for the buffalo, but nothing to do.
Some Laos person will care for it in a speciesism sort of way.
If you want to help animals then stop eating animals. #vegan lifestyle is purposeful and helpful.
I wish i could. Smoke weed 💚🚬with you guys. 😊
making more roads here is not good but appalling
wot for
its a tiny island
for wot ?
more huge groups of chinese tourists with more vehicles
bleh
Hahaha u got a joint mate
