    Don really wants the Yankees to forget about Soto so he can go to the Mets.

    The Dominguez obsession should stop now. He got hot at the end of last year, and had 8 very good games for the Yankees before getting injured. So right now, he's Shane Spencer. Not Juan Soto. He has a chance to be a very good player, but we don't know that.

      Look at Yankees and Sanchez

    • @BNugent797

      Not based in knowledge. Spencer was career minor leaguer, 27 when came up (in steroid era), never highly touted prospect. Bad comparison. Martian is top OF prospect since judge, excelled (by their standards, I hate hr or nothing offense) in only opportunity, and now crushing it again in minors post injury. He absolutely should be brought up, but Cashman knows he’s have to cut Grisham, can’t get anything for him right now, and it’s another failed trade piece, and he is a very proud, egotist, to a definite fault

      @@BNugent797 It's a perfect comparison for the point that was being made, which is both players came up late in the year, exceeded expectations, and then everyone lost their minds over them.
      Domingeuz's numbers in the minors are OK, but nothing to suggest superstardom is a certainty. And he definitely should NOT be brought up. He'd spend most of the year on the bench. He should stay in the minors and prove that AAA is no match for him. Grisham is exactly who we need on the bench, and as part of the Soto trade, it was well worth it. Next year, there will be a place for Dominguez.
      But we have to stop pretending that our prospects are all superstars because they have a flash of brilliance. Dominguez is NOT Soto. That's crazy.

    Micheal Kay is a total fool Juan Soto is not one of the best hitters in baseball he is not in the top 5 best hitters in baseball today yes he is having the best season of his career this year he has a lifetime batting average of 287 yes he walk alot that's all he does better than most hitters he has never hit over 35 homeruns ridiculous I don't even know why Micheal kay is on the air Juan Soto has never even had a season where his OPS has been 1000

    There is not a *SINGLE* stat where Juan Soto is even the same conversation as Ted WIlliams. Period.
    I mean, my god, just pull up both of their stat pages side-by-side. It would be an embarrassing comment from anyone....but from someone who does this for a living????

      Ted Williams played before black players were even allowed to play not to mention most latin Americans. Those pre Jackie Robinson stats are bogus 😒 stfu

    • @snerdterguson
      @snerdterguson 3 месяца назад +1

      Yes there is. And it is the stat people mention when comparing them. OBP at x age. Now it is OBP before turning 26. Him, Williams and Shoeless Joe. All comparable, and the best ever, in OBP before turning 26.
      Of course he isn't actually comparable overall to Williams. I hate the Red Sox, but if it weren't for his 5 years in the military, he is the GOAT. He's the weird case where missing years actually hurt his rate stats, just as much as his counting stats. His time in WWII is sandwiched between a .356 and .342, it is reasonable to say he hits the average of those two over that 3 year stretch. That's a .349 average, .002 higher than his career. That would be enough to push his batting average up to .348
      And he probably hits another 150+ homers and gets another 900+ hits. That's over 670 homers with 3,500+ hits on a .348 average.
      Williams was an incredible hitter. Probably the greatest the game ever saw.

    • @snerdterguson
      @snerdterguson 3 месяца назад +1

      Clarification: he is comparable in that nobody else has come this close to Williams in OBP at such a young age than Soto has. There is still a wide gap in Sotos and Williams OBP.

      Not a legitimate star no. You are correct. They had to invent stars to compare them. Honestly Soto isn’t as good as Giambi 2002 (look it up kids), on par, but let’s see if he can keep it up. They need nonsense to argue about
