Amazing. I can't believe I didn't think of it. after 2 days of not being able to get the 2 buckets seperated, after watching the video I seperated them in 20 seconds. Thanks
Compressed air didn't do it. Tried the bail method, had to feed a 2x4 through the bail handle because I couldn't keepu foot in it otherwise. All I managed to to is break the white grip and deform the bail. There isn't a vacuum seal; I can press on around each segment of where they are stuck together. Next I'll try drilling a couple huge holes through the bottom bucket. I'm putting a vegetable plant in it, it needs drain holes anyway.
All if my buckets laughed at this trick. It didn't work on any of them. I had tried this before watching and was hoping to learn something new to try. :(
Hey Guy, when I was still painting I would put a small piece of 2x4 in the bottom of each bucket and that would keep the bucket from going in to far and sticking.✌🏻️
I am a professional painter over 25yrs experience, and I wanted to thank you for the tip, thats Happened to all in the trade, thanks again I like your channel and looking forward to upcoming videos. Good Job
Thank you!! It worked!! I punched holes in the bottom of the stuck bucket to release the suction. Yes I needed holes in the bottom to grow veggies. Then I tried using liquid soap, still nothing. Last resort I looked on RUclips. Yay, now I have another bucket to use.
Hello, sorry the camera didn’t capture that but you basically just step on the handle which is called the bail. My camera is old school and doesn’t have a screen that will flip around to face me so I didn’t realize it missed that little bit so thanks for asking.
Using your foot is kinda obvious in my opinion. That only works some of the time though. I've been using a fat screw driver to pry really stuck ones and that works pretty well.
Thank you. My wife had about 10 old 5 gal paint buckets that came out of dumpsters that were stacked together 2 years ago. Now she wanted them separated to use for her garden. After watching 3 other YT videos, I was about to tell her impossible. Then I saw yours and voila, the tip (plus some elbow grease) worked. Glad I was able to keep my man badge in tact. lol
We have buckets on our truck all the time for cold patch, salt, etc. Our quick release method is either taking the edge of a shovel and hitting the lip to separate or taking a short piece of 2x4 and likewise hit the lip of bucket. I like your method... going to try it. Thank You for that tip!!!
When I saw the title I said don't tell me he's going to say what I've been doing for over 25 years. Yup he did. Also another tip is make sure the sides of bucket are clean before inserting into bucket stack
Thx man. This is one of those videos that make you think "Why didn't I think of that!" I was pulling and banging them on the floor even used a mallet and only managed to wear myself out and crack a few buckets!😂
I have some impossible buckets because everyone seems to say this works but I have been killing myself trying to no avail. No air compressor. Tried to jam a small crowbar in enough to shoot water and nothing is working
Never did get it to work in any way. Never had a set so stuck together. Was a Home Depot and a Leaktite bucket. Wound up having to break the Leaktite which was the outer bucket. Lost hours of work.
Taiyyaba Awan, He tipped the buckets over, stepped on the handle of the bottom bucket (closest to the floor), and then pulled up from the lip of the top bucket. Worked great!
I love it! My buckets were stuck for a week, as soon as I stood on one the handle and pull the other up like you said it worked💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼🤗🤗🤗. It was fast and easy!! Thank you!
Sometimes only a sawzall and a dumpster will break them free. You can try one more trick, use an air compressor to blow air in between the buckets, creating pressure inside which sometimes blows them loose enough to pull them apart.
I have to tell you that I started watching this video of yours at 10 pm last night, went to your drywall videos, and went on to your 'drywall paper came off' videos and looked up and it was 4 am! I have had two 5 gal buckets that were stuck together for a long time, and I tried your foot trick and they came apart in seconds! Thank you so much! You have made my day! Keep up the good work! Good luck with the vertigo and supporting our Vets.
I think the pulling on the handle distorts the bucket a bit and allows air to get in and break the vacuum, along with the draw of air in between the buckets as the second bucket is being forced away from the first. It is just a thought.
If you have any broken bottom buckets, keep the metal or plastic handle if it has one, so that if any of your buckets that are stuck together don't have a handle, you can reattach to get it unstuck, if applying this method. A painter commented another method to use a rubber mallet all around the side of the lip near where the handle is latched until it comes loose. I suggest keeping a refillable compressed air portable sprayer bottle (around twenty dollars) in your vehicle, in the garage, or shop that can be refilled by air compressor or bike pump. BTW, thank you for the cardboard shim trick when storing buckets
Hope it works for you, better than my first attempt, LOL. Thanks for commenting. Looks like you’re cranking out the videos over there nicely, so you’ll be doing well soon.

2:45 is where he explains it
In other words, this video should have been 15 seconds long instead of over four minutes.
What if the Handle is missing or broken
Amazing. I can't believe I didn't think of it. after 2 days of not being able to get the 2 buckets seperated, after watching the video I seperated them in 20 seconds. Thanks

I certainly know about that 🤣🤣 worked for a company in Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 making metal pails. A real pain at times 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
2:40 OMG it worked in seconds! I about gave up trying to pry and hammer them apart.
Awesome! It’s been a headache saver
This was so easy and it worked! I watched several videos to help separate buckets and I couldn’t get any of the other tips to work. Thank you!
OMG, it actually worked. I tried for over a year, even had a friend pull in the opposite direction. Never got them free until I tried this. 🙏🏾
Glad it worked for you Dwayne

My husband says the handle is gone. How do we get the buckets apart?
Try blowing compressed air in between them to use the pressure to pop them apart.
Great trick. You saved my day. Thank you from God's own country.
OMG! It was so easy! I am my wife's hero! I am subscribing to your site.
Awesome!
No help
Didn't work for me 😫 will try pouring hot water next.
Blow compressed air into the gap between them
Thanks a ton for this video. It helped me control my anger on the bucket 😂.
Very helpful! Thank you!!

THANK YOU!!!!!! 😆😁
Put something in the bottom of each bucket so they won't go that far together.
Step on the pail or bell I couldn't follow. Please note, the camera angle wasn't low enough to see your foot placement.

This actually just worked… these buckets have been stuck together forever! My mind is blown…
Omg, after watching I said no way it could be that simple, tried it and it separated instantly. TY .. I wonder how it would work without handles ?
Also, dont glue your buckets together!
Lol 😂
incredibly simple and entirely effective. sort of beating myself up for not thinking of it myself but i guess thats what youtube is for. thanks!
That's how I figured it out lol
Like you say I was outside in the complex looking crazy I said wait let me do some research
Worked
Tired this and it broke the handle of my bucket. Buckets still stuck together.
This works 👌
I just put a *soup can* in the bottom of every bucket so it doesn't go down all the way.
I was cracking up at the end
Just WOW! Thanks so much, it worked like a charm.
It worked!!!!! thank you so much. Subscribed

It sure helped me thank you very much separated first time .
I guess even for the "kilted guy" it is way too hard to unstick buckets while wearing a kilt?
I wear kilts about 80% of the time, but not always, lol.
Why do people make videos and not capture the move on the video
It took you over two minutes to get to the point. Stop talking about how clever you are and just get to the lesson.
Lol
Thanks for the awesome video! Worked like a charm on this set of buckets that were stuck like glue. Peace ✌
My dude, thank you 🙏 just brilliant.
That don't work I tried that first and I tried boiling water s*** video nice guy s*** video
Read the comments and you’ll see it works for many many people. But no, nothing works for every single stuck bucket.
Great job it worked unsticking buckets
It worked! Seems so simple but I’m a dipshit and didn’t think about that. Thanks!
It’s ok, took me 30 years to figure it out
Waited waaaaaay too long before he got to the point. 💀
So much help full because it works👍

Glad I could help you.
WOW! It worked !
Thank you!
I have some impossible buckets because everyone seems to say this works but I have been killing myself trying to no avail. No air compressor. Tried to jam a small crowbar in enough to shoot water and nothing is working
Make sure you pull up on the buckets from equal distance apart so 180° and 360° apart
Never did get it to work in any way. Never had a set so stuck together. Was a Home Depot and a Leaktite bucket. Wound up having to break the Leaktite which was the outer bucket. Lost hours of work.
Sometimes it happens that way
talk too much sheeet sir. worthless thumbs down 5 (five) times
Lol. Cool 10 (times). Here’s the short version ... the end
Thanks for the video, it worked
Glad it helped
I just became the unstuck bucket king thanks to you! Lol
Perfect!
It worked thanks!! I fought with these for half an hour before watching your video.
Awesome!
Can u explain what he did I can't get him
Taiyyaba Awan, He tipped the buckets over, stepped on the handle of the bottom bucket (closest to the floor), and then pulled up from the lip of the top bucket. Worked great!
Wow but it didnt work on me.
My buckets stick harder this does not work
I actually used hot water and cooking oil spray.
Lol thank you dear!
It worked!
Awesome! Those things can be so frustrating, so glad I could help.
Worked , thank you
4 minutes of my life I can't get back.
Lmnao. Here’s a refund of your time, now you didn’t “lose it”. Take care
Not helpful at all.

THANK YOU!!!
Thank you
So in 20 years of trying to get stuck buckets apart nobody has come up with a better idea than that same thing I’ve been doing for 20 years?! 🤨
worked like a charm
Awesome!
Actually worked very well
Glad to hear
Genius ! Thanks!!!
Glad it helped!

Thanks, glad you liked it. Just shows that these videos don’t go the way you plan all the time, LOL

Thank you I solved my problem
Will it work for stainless steel containers?
Put foot in bucket, poked eye, now what? Lol
Lol
My stuck containers have no handle.
If you have an air compressor, blow air in between them to create pressure, which can force them apart. But without handles, it could be tough.
