Authenticate to ESXi Host with Windows Domain User Account

This video provides steps to authenticate to ESXi host suing Active Directory domain accounts.
I specified to use Domain\Username or Username@Domain for authentication, but Username only man work for vSphere Web Access.

Hi , i can web login / ssh using AD account but can not join host to vCenter using this AD account. what could be the issue ?

Can I create permissions for domain users on the ESXi? I dont want to give full admin rights to domain users.
