I keep waiting for the episode when they'll figure out how Strahd is finding them. It's maddening, but it will be so satisfying when they work it out.

I love the tension between Xyros and the others. I wonder how the party will act next session. Also I really enjoy Kim's new character.

Fantastic job portraying a party being ripped asunder by the evil forces of Barovia, both literally and figuratively. Top marks for the roleplaying by everyone.
Hopefully this'll help make me less nervous about my job interview later. Can't wait to see what happens today!

My play as Xyros would have been to use a sweeping attack and pretend he accidentally cut Ireena in the backswing. Tom's play was much more Xyros though.
I am just glad that the Asmodeus issue came up now because even though they are all friends and don't want to spilt the party, that deal roleplay-wise could be a party breaker and it really needed to addressed, discussed and dealt with in someway. Otherwise this was an excellent episode even more so because of it and the interesting plot points it introduces.
I mean, I feel Curse of Strahd is the module for such shenanigans. A dance between hope and despair. Also, I played in a game and it ended with the sweetest person of our party taking Strahd's place and betraying us because they feel they could bring goodness to Barovia, unaware of the consequences of listening to the dark powers. I trust the group before me to definitely run with this drama, and I immediately am predicting there is no happy end for Xiros and Xiiki.

Every time I hear Xiros, I wish Tom was an Echo Knight named Xerox
Still very confused about the idea that if my friend kills my other friend I am perfectly fine with it and the charm effect stays. But I don't know the rules on that one.
Even a normal Charm Person ends if the caster or their ally harms the victim. Harming victim's allies does not end it. Stradhs charm is just longer and has a chance of continuing (there is another saving throw) even if the you or your allies harm the victim.
Personaly, I would give at least a disadvantaged save if the caster (or their ally) kills an ally of the victim. But this is Mark's game, and the way he did it is by the letter of the rules.

Just an idea I really have to wrap my head around, that I can be charmed by a person so hard that I don't care that they kill another friend. I always thought that "charm person" was "the target believes that you are lifelong friends". But I would care a great deal, even if a lifelong friend killed another person, doesn't even have to be a friend at that point. But maybe that's not the spell's intention and just my (wrong) shorthand for what it does.
Maybe it would have been different if he had killed Xikki or Izmark, but Xyros wasn't really good pals with Shadow at that point to begin with
I would imagine a Charm Person spell (especially coming from THE head vampire) would help the charmee kind of rationalize internally the actions of the charmer. Like Tom and others mentioned, he wasn't exactly on the best of terms with Shadow, so the charmed effect would help "guide" him to seeing Stradh's perspective of the encounter.
Until Xyros eventually saves, whenever that is, maybe then he'll understand/think differently of what just happened. But that's just how I understand the spell from a roleplay POV. 🤷♀️🤷♀️
Yeah, I think mostly somebody affected by the spell the way Xiros was would just do nothing as both sides of the conflict were his friends, which is what ended up happening anyway for the most part.

Me: Yeah, I hear the DM offer to let a party member "shoot through my character" I'm going to be really alerted to that sentence.
I'm probably misremembering, but didn't Asmodeus say the dagger would do, to mark Tatiana's soul? Tom could have made his normal attacks against the phantasmal enemies, casually having the dagger in an offhand, and made a "clumsy" error and "accidentally scraped her with the dagger? This way, in game mechanics, he's making an offhand attack at someone (with penalties, yes) but, within reality, easily claimed to have been in reaction to the "onslaught" of the phantasmal enemies "I am so sorry, I was focused on the foe before me, I did not mean to nick you with this blade."
Ismark's mind has to have had a flash of "I thought we were blade bros!?!?!?"

may i recommend critical role campaign 2, molly is a ghost slayer bloodhunter, he show a different style of bloodhunter if you wanna see how they can be played

I have just realised that xiros has not told anyone even xiiki what she will die and be trapped in help if he does not do the 3 things he promised and based on the wording he has to do the 3 things not others, so in short he maybe killed her if they have PVP.
makes a good story but i really makes me hate him plus it will be interesting what happens if he tells the party or what his motivation even is at the moment.
His universal motivation is to protect Xiiki. Risking her soul seems a bit off unless he was at that moment confident that he could do what Azmodeus wants. Everything else is either an extension of that or secondary.
And this is always the difficulty with Strahd. Murder hoboes with no attachment to the characters or quests would take the death of a pc in their stride. Those who enjoy RP are faced with this stark choice. Act heroic and be slaughtered by Strahd even at full health or slink around quietly acquiring the objects you need only to be slaughtered by Strahd as he takes them back 🤔 I've always shied away from playing this adventure as I know I'd take a session like the last to heart and faced with the hopelessness of it all give up. Turn up and roll some dice for a couple more sessions and just not turn up after that ☹️. Well done to you all being able to RP so well time after time no matter what 👍 I'm very jealous

Xiiki is simple. Kill Strahd.
Xyros needed to find the body the held Tatianna's soul (Ireena) and cut her with the devil sword. He then needed to find what was left of Strahds soul (though I remember hearing Serge and not Strahd) and gather it up. Then he had to return the soul to Strahd. After that he is good. I assume Azmodeus wants Strahd to have his soul to Azmodeus can take it.
Is rhi's bass a lefty or is her camera mirrored?
They mentioned in a previous episode that Trott, Katie, Rhi and Mark (I think) are all left handed

The undead should of been immune to cold damage when Kim made that blood rite cold damage.
Most low level undead in D&D don't have cold immunity
@@MrSciencegeek2 and also, assume nothing when watching televised DnD. Just because the monster manual stat block says something doesn't mean that's what you'll see.
I just used a beefed up version of zombies in the last session I DM'd. I'll use a nerfed version of Vampire Spawns soon...

i looked into those blue reduction glasses katie's wearing since my eyes get strained alot when im at my pc and everything i read just says that they are a scam and there's no evidence to support they actually do anything to help :/
They absolutely do something to help. They look awesome.
Try using a free program called f.lux to change you screen color it should fix the problem.
How does Yesper get to add his dex to both his attacks' damage rolls, as a Bard?
Finesse weapons allow you to add dex to both. Bards get proficiency in mostly all the finesse style weapons. Normal weapons (if you are proficient in them) just go by strength for both attack and damage
@@joshcox5668 That's not the rules at all.... The rules state that you don't get to add your "Ability Modifier to the damage of the bonus attack, unless that modifier is negative."
No where does it specify Str or Dex... That's why Two Weapon Fighting is a fighting style for classes to take.
That's why I'm asking, if this is something that was homebrewed, overlooked or just ignored.
It's not in the rules. It's not allowed under normal circumstances.
Brofessor X read what Finesse weapons do. They allow you to add your DEX or STR to both damage and attack rolls.
Brofessor X all weapons if you are proficient in them add strength to both attack and damage rolls UNLESS they are finesse, which allows the use of dexterity instead to both attack and damage. An extra attack as a bonus action is usable by everyone and is called an “offhand attack” and it doesnt allow extra ability modifier damage. but two weapon fighting allows you to add the damage
