Why didn't y'all gently remove a small section of drywall where you want the light to hang? If it is just thick wires, it should give u room for what you need, and if it is blocked, it's an easy patch job, but at least you'd know. You could also build a shelf type thing across the entire area and have your 2 lights with the wires behind the box shelf. That's what I did in ours, and it looks great.

I can't believe the bright colors the previous owner used in your home. We had some tropical colors too but not as bright. Now my house is a neutral Benjamin Moore cream throughout. Can't wait to see your finished bathroom.

Those fixtures looked like they each had at least 20 pieces to assemble! Must have been so annoying to take them all off but so well worth it! Cant wait for more! And a hello to Benji!
We had the same thing happen to us with our spare bathroom light fixture! There is a huge pipe running up the middle of the vanity (we always wondered why they installed the light off center.. it drove us nuts lol) which made it hard to move the light. We ended up using a spare piece of wood, cutting it to a length we wanted to sit behind the light, screwed that into the studs of the wall, and centered our light on the piece of wood so it didn’t touch the pipes/anything else hiding in our walls. Maybe you could do something like that to save your light vision?!? Whatever you do, I’m excited to see your makeover. 😊
I tried the trick using very heavy fishing line to remove our bathroom mirror from the wall and it worked really well. Would definitely tell others to use that way but our mirror was smaller then yours.
