Kalamkari is a dying traditional art form of hand painting on clothes which has a history of 3000 years. This art form involves all the five elements of nature in the process of making. One Kalamkari cloth takes up to 45 days of hard work. After all the hardwork which goes into the cloth, these artists find no encouragement for their art form. This particular documentary focuses on the practice of art, importance of art and the state of art. This art speaks for itself.

Great effort by the artists and I can't appreciate chai bisket enough for making these kind of videos despite knowing these won't fetch as many views as masala one's and 'chooste shock avtharu' type videos manage to get. Your efforts to bring up these kind of underappreciated and under-recognised arts and organisations is inspiring and kind of rekindling the faith in humanity. Sir, I love to use kalamkari dresses...they are very comfortable...I liked them without knowing the importance..But now I realised how they last longer... Great work!!! but i heard many a times from shop keepers telling “ now this kalamkari is no more produced as no one wears and asks for it !! “ Felt so bad!!! We should encourage these arts for our future generations!!

Now a days there is much demand for these in overseas... But the only thing is they need is proper path... Bcoz most of them don't know to sell online..
The boutiques and famous clothing brands keep so much of costs.. even it if it is not original Kalamkari...
If there is a fusion of designers, these artisans and clothing brands.. then the present state of artisan will get fully reversed...
Bcoz now a days.. it is fully globalised... And anyone is buying from every corner of the world..
And along with sarees,.. they can make different items like wall hanging photo frames, on different bases.. other than cloth.. I mean they can use normal colors.. on wood, plastic, glass, paper.....which can be used on envelopes, jewellery boxes, pen stands, glass windows, so many..
It's just an idea bcoz the reality is this generation is not learning this art.. if u see.. most of the childern of these artists are taking different professions... So at least in order to save the art form we can take this to other mediums I feel..

Hi it is not possible after making the art ,cloth will become beige or other colors because of washes it will under go, in case if people will say hand painted in white color cloth then it won't be hand painted one
