love these morph special videos. it's absolutely fantastic seeing the differences next to each other and I gotta say, like you, I really love the spider morph
I'm new to BPs and loving this world. Absolutely gorgeous animals with incredible combination possibilities. Coming from a long history in the dog world, I am a bit concerned about the general attitude towards the Spider wobble, though. It reminds me a lot of what happened in the American lines of the German Shepherd. Everyone was so focused on getting the look right that the occasional joint issues were dismissed as "no big deal." Now, American GSDs suffer from all manner of severe joint issues. They either end up needing incredibly expensive surgeries or just get put down (or worse yet, are allowed to suffer for years). I think Spiders and their combos are gorgeous and I'd love to keep seeing them be apart of BPs. I just think the best thing to do would be to find Spiders with little to no wobble and only breed those, until the trait is bred out entirely. Thanks for the great content. I'm looking forward to lots more.
The spider wobble cannot be bred out in this manner. It's tied to the mutation. Unlike the dismissing of a genetic problem over generations. A spider with a terrible wobble can produce offspring without any wobble, and one without a wobble can throw terrible wobble. It's a roll of the dice. it's not as simple as going in and only breeding those without wobble. Anyone who claims you can hasn't an idea how the spider wobble works.
Really good video Gav...just getting back into the hobby as you know...bought a baby spider last week just coz I love the morph...giving me good ideas for future stuff...awesome 👍
Those are beautiful pythons! I'm glad you cleared up the fact the spider head wobble isn't a big deal. I've always found spiders to be beautiful and I didn't want to get one because of that, but now I might. Thanks for the video!
I'm looking into get only one ball python for my reptile collection, so I'll have to find something spectacular, maybe it'll have spider in it maybe not. I'm a fan of white snakes like black eyed leucistics and Super Mojave pastels but also really yellow snakes like the pastel desert ghosts and such so we'll see what my future brings. 😁
The spider morphs are my favorite, also. It's the morph that got me interested in ball pythons. Your animals are absolutely gorgeous. Definitely some of the best I've ever seen. Great job!!!
Awesome video Gav! Beautiful morph examples! That Dream Bee is a dream. lol. OD & Yellowbelly are on the top of my list of new morphs to add into my collection.
Best vid online with best commentary only thing that could make them better for this series would be to show the adults of the base morphs please keep it up I love these vids
thanks David, glad you enjoyed it...I will add some adult ones in the videos, I wanted to show hatchings as most people buy there first snake as a hatching. thanks again for your support 😁
Love the spider gene also, just sent for my Stinger Bee female, which is going to be my pastel banana's girlfriend, time will tell. Great video Gavin, thanks for sharing.
I like how your so into ball pythons it really shows how much passion you have for these snakes. Anyway spider gene is one of my fav genes as well. My male calico spider didn't produce anything this year but maybe this coming season fingers crossed. Great video loved all the combos.
Totally agree I have a Spider Calico Lesser Cinny Enchi, she had no wobble until about 110g and it showed up as you said " She loses the floor" but if held and supported under her chin she is fine. sometimes seems its not there but her feedd response is so intese she gets so excited that it shows up and she will miss from time to time if I hold the food at an extreme angle above her head. I adjusted my feeding technique and she is one if not................ the family favorite and by far the prettiest ball python I own. I am not a snake breeder, I only breed gree tree monitors and keep Ball pythons as pets.
I also wanted to comment on the Lesser gene. It is so common now that it is underestimated, IMO. Lesser adds something really gorgeous to the mix, in color and pattern, always. Just love that gene.
Thank you for publishing these videos.....I am not a snake owner nor a snake lover by any means but I find your videos fascinating and as an American, love your accent. I've seen other videos where the baby and young snakes are striking at hands which I understand is protective....is it from exposure and handling that yours do not and/or are they some breeds that are less fearful from birth? Thank you!
thank you for your kind words and support with my channel.....the ball python is a very nervous snake and it's more fear aggression for why they strike, show them your not going to eat them lol and they tend to calm down. I do feel they can sense fear and can pick up on things. 😁
Pretty little spider Gavin, I wish yours had more orange in it like mine does. She's a beauty. For some reason my goofy Orange Ghost misses her strikes almost always on the first try. It's strange as can be. I don't know what it takes to make an OG and especially this one I've no idea but she certainly has an issue missing food on the first strike. Excellent video on the Spider Gavin. I loved it all. Thanks so much! =) 🌾 Merry meet 🌿
hiya, your spider is crazy, but in a good way, it will be nice to breed her and see what comes of that orange in her. thanks for watching and your kind words as always 😁
Man Governor. We both have the same passion for snakes the spider is just like the Jag carpet. I love the jags like you love the spider. I know one thing if you are ever able to ship to the states I am buy a spider from you for sure. You got me itching to get one. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼❤️🐍❤️🐍🐍🐍❤️❤️❤️ hope your family is well.
My first snake ever was a spider het albino. Still have her, shes almost 4 years old now and she is so beautiful, my all time favorite morph. And my male is a lesser!!
This is a great video and really helpful for me right now ,,we've just bought a spider ball python on Friday and thinking about breeding in the future ,,thanks again Gav 👌👌
hey gav, not been able to post a response before, just got it sorted,i too love the spider gene and am just starting in the ball python hobby, bred corns for 12 yrs and made the jump this last year, i have a 2017 hatched pair of normals 100% het albino and a 2015 pastel that i was told is het ultramel ......love your vids mate, look forward to meeting you at a show some day.....
I have 2 Bp's with the Spider complex. My two blue eyed beauties do have a wobble, having become more pronounced as they get older. It sure hasn't I affected their appetite and their strike is spot on (when excited, they sometimes miss, but so do my other bp's) Some ppl are put off by it, but it's not something that bothers me. They are two of my most beautiful snakes, with a great temperament (but that has nothing to do with the Spider gene LOL)
I did a few videos on this topic, take a look I'm sure it will explain all...... I breed Spider Gene because I love the gene, I breed for me and not all of them wobble
"I don't think you will understand this comment haha but you make great videos and your ball pythons are incredible. Greetings and all the best from Mexico" In case you wanted to know and hadn't translated it yourself👍
The wobble can effect its quality of life sometimes depending on its severity because the wobble is a neurological issue ruclips.net/video/pgHRAhwccbc/видео.html
Why doesn’t anyone have spider/leopard? I recently saw one at an expo and bought with my eyes. I was so taken by her appearance! I think she’s beautiful.
I have a spider and I love her but most people think it’s inhumane to breed an animal with life altering issues only so it can look cooler but it all depends
im actually buying a stingerbee. gonna be my first spider and i hope it will make me more positive towards breeders who make them, as of now i am currently a very pro ban on breeding (not owning tho as the snake is allowed and therefore it deserves home)
I think the spider gene is really aesthetically pleasing and has the potential to make the most amazing living art but I am put of by the wobble. Although it can vary with severity I don’t think it’s right to create them knowing how bad it can get and how we have little to no control of how bad it can be. Shame tho
know the video is old , but i dont think it was kevin of Nerd who proved it out , Pretty sure it was Brian of BHB who proved it out because he was the one who imported .
I have a bumblebee spider not much of a head wable but he is very skittish...until this day I gotta use a glove when I wanna take him out of his terrarium but yeah overall he is very skittish....I don't have him out for long to not get him so stressed out but yeah his about 3 years old but even if my wife walks by a bit close to me he will attack hopefully with time he will stop be so skittish.....I just got him 3 months ago....any info you can share will be greatly appreciated
This video is 4 years old now but I have a spider morph that I want to try to figure out. I think when we got him, they said enchi spider something but I can’t remember. If I could show pics I need some guesses. Maybe email?
Balls2U im with you on the spider gene and I'm cooking a lesser spider combo cooking and was thinking of putting black head in which I'm told cures it but kills the pattern and colours on it so was hoping that you could shine light on it and either prove it or kill the theory

Headwobbles? I've only ever heard them called headboobs. XD EDIT :: "Buy with your eyes", yes, so true. I fell in love with the BEL's as soon as I saw them and he was definitely worth the price I paid for him. He's so awesome and pretty. My family still can't get over that white snakes exist!
Balls2U Yes he is! He's awesome, he's just gotta learn NOT to stick his head out of the tub when I wanna feed him because feeding him in the air is awkwaaaard. But I'll feed my totally beautiful and amazing boy before 7PM and see what happens. You know, juuuust as he's waking up and slowly poking half of his snout out of his hide. I can't resist showing him off to my family by pictures.
Wow, who woulda thought the snake breeder would tell people to buy snakes with their eyes lmao. Spiders look cool but its kinda fucked to encourage people to buy them
stop for one second and imagine this: What would you think if people were breeding dogs for profit with the spider typical wobble/corkscrewing? If your dog would flop on floor or bang into stuff with its head when it gets "excited". You'd be outraged, so why is it ok to knowingly breed ball pythons with this specific neurological issue?
Rickard Rakkoon people breed dogs with knowing problems.... French bulldog- breathing problems, Dachshund- spine problems, miniature schnauzer- cataracts, boxer- back leg problems....... also I don't breed for profit, I breed for me...... and if I have babies I don't need then I offer for sale.
Great guy and I appreciate the age of this vid but this is inaccurate and how disinformation is created. I personally think that breeding spiders is inhumane and disgusing. The animal's quality of life should NEVER be decreased for the sake of beauty. It's selfish and inhumane. Period. The wobble is not "cute," and bad spiders can end up with head trauma or even end up biting itself. It should NOT be popular, and it should NOT be praised. This is where conservation and recognition stops and selfish human desire takes over. Spiders may be "pretty" but they are NOT worth hurting the snake at their own risk. Champagnes, Super Cinnamons, Black Super Pastels, Super Spiders and other damaging and lethal combinations are just bad. You know it's dangerous when Super Spider is literally lethal. It is NOT a good thing to hurt the snake for the sake of a pretty pattern! They aren't art or toys! They're pets and companions. They're animals. This is cruel. PERIOD.
SJ L so has hgw, sable, woma, power ball, scaleless..... what about other morphs with problems like super cinnamon, super lesser, super black Pastel, desert...... should we not breed them?
Balls2U no, ethically you shouldn't. not trying to "stir the pot" or troll. It's a proven, preventable neurological disorder. Knowingly breeding it just because it's "pretty" is honestly cruel and very narcissistic.
love these morph special videos. it's absolutely fantastic seeing the differences next to each other and I gotta say, like you, I really love the spider morph
thank you, it's good to see the difference in the morphs. 👍

@@nonesoherpetological8974 He just said in the video they all have variations of wobble.
@@beatrixcat they do all have some degree, but it can be nearly undetectable normally and just be more obvious when they're excited or stressed.
Really good video Gav...just getting back into the hobby as you know...bought a baby spider last week just coz I love the morph...giving me good ideas for future stuff...awesome 👍
Love your Royals they really are top notch quality, love this video 😊♥️🐍
Thank you 😊
Thanks for the excellent video! Spider is my favorite base morph. Bumblebee especially. Keep up the great work 🤙🏼

thanks mate, OD and yellow belly work really well together 👌
Another great video Gavin, I enjoy the BP talk more than anything. I can honestly say I watched the whole video.
thanks mate 😁👍
Best vid online with best commentary only thing that could make them better for this series would be to show the adults of the base morphs please keep it up I love these vids
thanks David, glad you enjoyed it...I will add some adult ones in the videos, I wanted to show hatchings as most people buy there first snake as a hatching. thanks again for your support 😁
Another cool video! I watch every video you post! Happy herping from Seattle Washington!
hey, thank you 😁👌
I love it man, I'm looking forward to the rest of this series. Keep up the good work! Really informative.
thanks Joe 👍
Love the spider gene also, just sent for my Stinger Bee female, which is going to be my pastel banana's girlfriend, time will tell. Great video Gavin, thanks for sharing.

Buy with your eyes. Damn, that's good advice.
Thanks John
Thanks John
Best advice I have heard yet!
Great video Gavin. Love all the spider combos you have.
thank you 😁
The sunset Jean would be a good base morph to start off with and how to teach us how to spot them

LOVE the Spider gene. Really enjoiyed the video ✌😍🌴🐍
Another great video 😄 That dream bee is out of this world 💖😍
thank you 👍😁
If spider is in the name that means they most likelyhave a wobble right?
Great video, I agree the Spider gene does amazing things in simple combos.
thanks, spider hets such a hard time, but yet seems to do the most to combos
My first snake ever was a spider het albino. Still have her, shes almost 4 years old now and she is so beautiful, my all time favorite morph. And my male is a lesser!!
Realy enjoyed this, I have learnt alot from your video's, looking forward to the next!!
thank you, glad I can help people 👍😁

another great video. I love the spider gene. I kept finding myself wanting to add spider to everything
thanks, I'm like that too
Beautiful snakes dude! Love those genes!

What is a good pair of a champagne to make it darker?
why do they wobble? if its a known issue why breed them when not for money? just wondering.
I did a few videos on this topic, take a look I'm sure it will explain all...... I breed Spider Gene because I love the gene, I breed for me and not all of them wobble
thanks, will watch them next.
spider my favorite morph to. i literally spent 4 hours researching it. :)
then you would of known that the spider gene gives a BP real bad wobbles and issues.
Creo que no entenderás este comentario jaja pero haces vídeos muy bueno y tus pitón bola son increíbles. Felicidades y saludos desde México.
"I don't think you will understand this comment haha but you make great videos and your ball pythons are incredible. Greetings and all the best from Mexico"
In case you wanted to know and hadn't translated it yourself👍
Great info mate. 👍👍 first class. Been waiting to see the dream bee.
thanks mate
Any ideas Royal People???....Would a supposedly Het For Pied Spider show belly track markers?...Thanks
nope....no markers
I personally love the wobble. Spider is my favorite gene.
Mine too
The wobble can effect its quality of life sometimes depending on its severity because the wobble is a neurological issue ruclips.net/video/pgHRAhwccbc/видео.html
Its a bad morph the wobbles can hurt it alot
Why doesn’t anyone have spider/leopard? I recently saw one at an expo and bought with my eyes. I was so taken by her appearance! I think she’s beautiful.
I have a spider and I love her but most people think it’s inhumane to breed an animal with life altering issues only so it can look cooler but it all depends
do bumblebees have the spider gen in them or the pastel Jean gen in them automatically
Hi, could you let me know what a "special spider" is ? Thanks
Now let me see, leopard + spider + pastel + yellowbelly = Cheetah. Another great learning vid mate.
haha I see you've been doing your research....love it mate 👍
im actually buying a stingerbee. gonna be my first spider and i hope it will make me more positive towards breeders who make them, as of now i am currently a very pro ban on breeding (not owning tho as the snake is allowed and therefore it deserves home)
After watching this video I am 99% sure sunsetsnakes.com sold me a enchi spider BP. Thanks for these comparisons.
I think the spider gene is really aesthetically pleasing and has the potential to make the most amazing living art but I am put of by the wobble. Although it can vary with severity I don’t think it’s right to create them knowing how bad it can get and how we have little to no control of how bad it can be. Shame tho

What would a lesser pewter bred to a bumble bee produce?
spiders are great i love the base along with spider super phantoms are epic
I agree 😁
Nice explanation and examples Gavin!
thanks mate
Your welcome!
I have a bumblebee spider not much of a head wable but he is very skittish...until this day I gotta use a glove when I wanna take him out of his terrarium but yeah overall he is very skittish....I don't have him out for long to not get him so stressed out but yeah his about 3 years old but even if my wife walks by a bit close to me he will attack hopefully with time he will stop be so skittish.....I just got him 3 months ago....any info you can share will be greatly appreciated
when i cant remember my spider morphs i always watch this vid.
This video is 4 years old now but I have a spider morph that I want to try to figure out. I think when we got him, they said enchi spider something but I can’t remember. If I could show pics I need some guesses. Maybe email?
Do you have a website/ can you ship (get a courier)
Damn that dream bee is gold as hell
When people say lesser are they referring to the lesser platinum? Excuse my ignorance
yes mate, the platinum side of the name doesn't get used that much nowadays 👍
Thanks mate makes sense
Love the video will you be in Doncaster in June 2017
Diamond Back Reptiles thank you.....and yes I'll be there 😊
Balls2U I might buy a spider ball python from you then :)
Diamond Back Reptiles I'm sure I will be able to help you with that one 😊😉👍
Balls2U :)
Beautiful snake
ty this answer an lot of my question
David Willow thanks for watching
Do they have Wobble? How can I take it? I do not have a Ball with Wobble, but... knowledge is power :0 xD
it's only some genes that have head wobble, if your snakes are feeding and all good then don't worry about it 👍
+Balls2U Thanks, dude :)
How can you tell if a spider has yellow belly?
The yellowbelly gene adds a kind of busy pattern along the edges of the belly, like some kind of morse coding.
Love this video!
NitroNarc thank you 😊
What is the morph name of a Enchi spider pastel?
parka_is_dead Enchi Bumblebee
Does black head cure the spider head wobble
Kieran draper not sure tbh
Balls2U im with you on the spider gene and I'm cooking a lesser spider combo cooking and was thinking of putting black head in which I'm told cures it but kills the pattern and colours on it so was hoping that you could shine light on it and either prove it or kill the theory
Thanks for the info very useful
Great video
thank you 👍
great idea for a series.
thank you 😊 keep me posted on your thoughts 👍
I thought that you weren't supposed to ever by a spideror breed them because they have so many neurological problems and they wouldn't be able to ever eat live food and even eat frozen is hard for them because they eat upside down or whatever this is clearly what I've been told so I'm not telling you like I know I'm trying to get more educated on it by you so what's your take on that?
all my spiders are great feeders, I have NO issues what so ever, but you can get some the have problems.
Headwobbles? I've only ever heard them called headboobs. XD
EDIT :: "Buy with your eyes", yes, so true. I fell in love with the BEL's as soon as I saw them and he was definitely worth the price I paid for him. He's so awesome and pretty. My family still can't get over that white snakes exist!
he is stunning 😍
Balls2U
Who, the BEL you sold me, the snakes on video, or all of the above? I mean... I can't argue that my BEL is stunning. ; )
+Noibat haha your Bel mate
Balls2U
Yes he is! He's awesome, he's just gotta learn NOT to stick his head out of the tub when I wanna feed him because feeding him in the air is awkwaaaard. I can't resist showing him off to my family by pictures.
My favorite basic morph :)

Wow at 15:00 they look gold and silver
Okey ?? )))))
Why do you keep trying to grab their heads and cover them up over and over again the entire video lmao
Because, it stops them from biting and it helps keep the stress levels down on the snakes
first!

unethical to breed this morph. it has neurological issues.
Rickard Rakkoon it's never been proven by anyone if so can you send me the link.... I have spiders with no wobble or any problems.
Great video I love everything in the spider area
thank you and I'm a spider fan as you can tell
