My parents growing up during the Weimar Republic listened to these songs, danced to them in the 30ies and taught me a lot of them.. Such a great interpretation of Max Raabe and the orchestra. Danced to it...Thanks for posting

Oh my god. I've just accidentally discovered Max Raabe and have had a transcendental experience listening to this amazing music. I'd put this concert up there with The Talking Heads' "Stop Making Sense." It's just so so so good.
Love it! He just 'sings it'. No gesticulations, no grotesque facial expressions, doesn't sing a dozen notes as though he's trying to FIND the one he wants. no screaming, blowing out my ear drums & ALL the lyrics can be UNDERSTOOD!

I absolutely love this man and his fantastic band. They make a wonderful team. The way he sings! he is so versatile and the band is so talented. I checked to see where they are..they will be playing in Germany until March 2013 when they will come to Disneyland and later in Chicago. I am going to try go and see them.
Very special music, played with enormous feeling and sensitivity, All the musicians are greatly accomplished at their craft, under the leadership of Max. Raabe. The drums may be the king of rhythm, but If ever there was a queen of instruments it must surely be the saxophone, delivering a smooth flow of dreamy melody, punctuated so skillfully by Cecelia's violin. There is humorous eye contact between Cecelia and her musical brothers [ 34:30 - 35:41 ]. These people are incredibly gifted, and have done so well to follow Max's original vision to revive the music of the Weimar Republic era. Thanks for sharing...........very much enjoyed.

A Community College in Brevard County transmits Arts 24 Hours a day on one of its "68." channels Months ago, I saw the band there for the first time. If it hadn't been for Ms. Margulies on a repeat of Letterman, I wouldn't have even thought about Max Raabe again. It was her husband, of German extraction, who had the love affair with the band. I love the perfect timing, phrasing, and the fact that a metronome could cllick along with the music and not miss a beat. It is a wonderful spectacle.
We heard Julianna mention Max on Letterman and out of curiosity we search RUclips and found him. What an amazing talent. I could listen to this all night!
