- Today I'm fishing the Megabass Big Gabot for some late summer bass. I got on a shallow pattern under overhaning trees, around grass lines, and on top of the slop. All of these spots are PRIME areas for throwing the frog. I'll show you where and how I used the Big Gabot to capitalize one some hungry largemouth bass!

Sweet day on the frog! I’ve got a little electronic graph with a rechargeable 12 volt battery and a suction cup mount for the transducer. It’s great for the canoe, kayak and ice fishing. It shows the depth, weed line and fish. Got it at a pawn shop for less than $100. It would be a good addition to your fishing arsenal.

This is a technique I need to put to work more often for sure.
Uhhhh the Big Gabbot walks like a dream! If you have issues slightly clip one side of the tails a little shorter than the other.
Another thing I’ve noticed, just like a jerkbait, is when you want to walk a frog do everything debo does but he just didn’t mention it, always point the rod back to the bait after you twitch. Debo does it extremely well and makes it look easy lol
Yes, that's a great point. Short pops and thr rod should go back to where you started.
He also “steers” his lures close to a target. That’s very important for bank fishermen and fisherwomen who can’t position each cast from a boat. So many “tips” just from watching these vids multiple times.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, a fish is a fish is a fish. However, I did get another one on a frog yesterday. That brings me up to three for the summer, along with the three or four I’ve missed, two that I have seen hit it and one that I looked away right as it hit. Froggin is addictive man. Thank you for the tips

Just tore the bottom of my Big Gabot out on a bad backlash. Super glued it up and we'll see how it holds up. 16 bucks for a frog, you bet your bippy ill repair that thing till it literally falls apart!
Try some mend-it. It is flexible and seems do repair the frogs better!

Nice video Debo. Just started frog fishing this year. Can't seem to sink the hook fishing from the banks. I can say I probably lost 15 fish last couple of months. I beginning to think its the rod I bought could be the issue or i just suck, lol. Bought a Daiwa Tatula Frog Rod.
Seems like that would be a good rod. Are you pausing after they strike? Also may need to try a smaller frog and be sure to trim the legs shorter!
@@DEBOSFishing Thanks for actually taking the time to reply. I have paused after the strike and just trimmed the legs recently so hopefully next time. Did notice the rod blank is coming apart slight near the top and I just bought it in July. Going to send it back to TW. Just ordered Shimano Expride 7'3"XH recommended by others. Learned so much from you as I am a bank fisherman as well. Thanks for taking the time to educate all of us, we really appreciate it.

Hey Debo, it got a little awkward when I put on your video in front of my wife and you stated you don’t mind paying a little extra for a frog because you know you’re going to fish it and it’s not like the swimbaits that you never catch anything on...hit a little too close to home. This year I got a 5” bucca bull shad and caught exactly one fish, a trophy 48” tiger musky, which is the species I was targeting. Since then, I purchased a 6” bull shad and just got a 6” bull gill. Total number of fish besides the initial one musky...zero 😫🤣
