Hey nice update And great shoutouts. That paint job on the truex car is very nicely done. I like the wheels tucked up in there…As for the resin, I’ve built a few resin Indycars. definitely make sure you wash it and then definitely prime it. Paint does not like to stick to resin at all. Once it’s primed and painted handle it as little as possible. Paint adhesion and resin just don’t mix. I wash, prime, paint and decal. Then seal it with clear and set it off to the side. Then when I go to handling it I usually wear gloves so my skin oils don’t rub anything off.

Thanks for the shout out, I really appreciate that. I do hope your home was okay with that storm. That Valiant will look cool when you get done with it. Sorry I don't know anything about resin bodies, but I would say putting down a good primer would be needed for that. Tamiya rattle can primer is really good.

I like the Valiant. Always like tValuants. I high school I was shopping for a mid 60s Valiant or Dart. There was a guy in my school who got a 62 Valiant. He did most of his day in auto shop. Put a 426 Hemi and a 727 auto in it. Dana 60 in the back. Replaced the "Continental" tire trunk lid with a smooth one. Put 12" cheater slicks on the back. Pizza cutters on the front. Stance was fairly low in front. Roll bar. Painted it bright yellow. He used to drive in the gate that lead to the shop side of auto shop class during lunch. That went right past the cafeteria and pavilions. He'd stop, rev it up, then do a smokey burnout right in the middle of the campus in front of the Principal, cops and most of the student body. Nobody ever hassled him about it. I watched the Mexican American Principal give him a thumbs up once. But they also held lowrider car shows on campus including hydraulics competitions.
So I never DID find a good deal on a Valiant or Dart. Wound up buying a 65 VW Bug that I converted into a Baja Bug. I still like 1st and 2nd gen Valiants though.

I'm up in Tallahassee, we get the occasional tropical storms/hurricanes, though not as bad as other parts of Florida. When a storm was approaching I used to like to go to the local Walmart just to watch "the Floor Show". Soccer Moms, Softball Dads and College Kids all literally fighting over bottled water, canned goods, flashlight batteries, etc. Actual 'fisticuffs'! Hilarious. Then I'd go back home where I'm already prepped. 😊
